On the Mountain

There gathered some undaunted faithfuls
Yelling with desperacy without moderacy
Screaming to be heard by the Son of Man
Not satisfied until they hear from the
The Son of Mary the wife of a Joseph

Hundreds of unwavering believers
With one soul to be delivered
From the shackles of the evil doers
Shattering away their sorrows and tribulations
In a language understood only by the heavens

Their veins and tendons across the neck stood out
The head moving fast like that of a bewitched gecko
Whose head is destined to go off the neck any moment
Coupled with the hunger arising from the fasting imposed
Something good must be foreboded by the Holy one
The white garment all bearded fusty smiling man
Must appease the hungry and angry people on the mountain

He has done it again brethen, rejoice in the Lord
For all your prayers has been answered today
Rejoice as you cheerfully give money unto the Lord
Fasting and prayers continue tomorrow . . . and next …
Forget not your mountain and prophet offerings tomorrow
The Lord bless you as you sing this song home

I was scared for a second, standing there for seconds
Staring at the white garment man who spoilt my day
As I opened my mouth to sing, song of hunger and despair
Rented my jaw live unfermented and undiluted
I had thought all my prayers had been answered that day
Only to be told that fasting and prayers continue still next day
With nothing to break the hunger called fasting today
Dream less of the offering of the Prophets or the Levites

Shall I not die on the mountain in my quest for food and work?
Should we continue to disturb God for what HE already gave us?
Do we still need a prophecy to fret our oppressors with whet?
If the white garment man’s mountain refuse to give us our needs
We shall then move our own mountain to wherever they hide

And demand for all that is ours, as given by GOD but shielded by few
Who use the white garment man to blind and enslave us into chains
We shall leave the mountain and move to our own mountain of freedom.

City, after city fades
One more night dreaming of home
Morning arrives and my weeping cascades
I am tired of this journey and my solitary roam
Now, I realize how much I love you
Gathering my strength I pray our love is still true
Beautiful memories of us come out of the blue
And I wander the crowded streets cold to the bone
Can you wait for me I am coming home, I groan
Keep sending you messages, oh I am so alone
Hoping and praying to the Lord above
Oh wait, I will be home soon my love
My heart is weary but also full of joy
Eager to see you- worried love I did not destroy

Daddy,Please Come Home Soon...

The pretty girl with blonde hair
and beautiful smile...
loved to call out
her dad's name by the front door,
as she giggled at him, so handsome in uniform...
full of confidence and ready to perform!

"Daddy,please come home soon,
before the sun leaves my bright room;
I'll be afraid,but I won't cry...
then sing me your new lullaby!"

Flashing a sweet smile,
he turned to her with tenderness
and said with the kindest vioce,
"I will come home soon,sweet-heart!"...
And while his brave heart pounded inside,
he kept on hearing her daughter's voice aloud!...

"Daddy, please come home soon, don't be late...
mommy worries a lot...you're in her prayers;
this September's sky is so lovely at night...
all the stars will come out
to guide you in the dark;
my little hands will hold your scary heart...
till you get here and climb the door-steps,
till you say good-night to me and are safe!"

For the Holidays

A simple decision
I came to accept at a younger age than known
I don’t remember my earlier birthdays
But since it fell in place
September, November, December
Then it’s a depressional season alone
If it were up to me, when I reached seven
I would have been heavenly gone
And you ask me
Will I be coming home for the holidays?
Holidays, they come, they go
For smiles and snow, a New York warmth
I’d trade with any convict doing death row
You punish me, but it seems to be
Something more than mischief
A flaw in your parental morals
Let’s graph the hope held in each poor child
You and I
We have-nots were claimed as plurals
Life long friends
How much more can we endure pal
Do you no longer ask
If I’ll be home for the holidays
This is for your birthday, each passing Christmas
The wars in which you continue to enlist us
The days you missed us
The casualties whom bit the dust
The individuals whom pissed on trust
For those entitled to this imperishable crush
Will you be home for the holidays?
