Daddy,Please Come Home Soon...

The pretty girl with blonde hair
and beautiful smile...
loved to call out
her dad's name by the front door,
as she giggled at him, so handsome in uniform...
full of confidence and ready to perform!

"Daddy,please come home soon,
before the sun leaves my bright room;
I'll be afraid,but I won't cry...
then sing me your new lullaby!"

Flashing a sweet smile,
he turned to her with tenderness
and said with the kindest vioce,
"I will come home soon,sweet-heart!"...
And while his brave heart pounded inside,
he kept on hearing her daughter's voice aloud!...

"Daddy,please come home soon,don't be late...
mommy worries a lot...you're in her prayers;
this September's sky is so lovely at night...
all the stars will come out
to guide you in the dark;
my little hands will hold your scary heart...
till you get here and climb the door-steps,
till you say good-night to me and are safe!"
