On the Mountain
There gathered some undaunted faithfuls Yelling with desperacy without moderacy Screaming to be heard by the Son of Man Not satisfied until they hear from the The Son of Mary the wife of a Joseph Hundreds of unwavering believers With one soul to be delivered From the shackles of the evil doers Shattering away their sorrows and tribulations In a language understood only by the heavens Their veins and tendons across the neck stood out The head moving fast like that of a bewitched gecko Whose head is destined to go off the neck any moment Coupled with the hunger arising from the fasting imposed Something good must be foreboded by the Holy one The white garment all bearded fusty smiling man Must appease the hungry and angry people on the mountain He has done it again brethen, rejoice in the Lord For all your prayers has been answered today Rejoice as you cheerfully give money unto the Lord Fasting and prayers continue tomorrow . . . and next … Forget not your mountain and prophet offerings tomorrow The Lord bless you as you sing this song home I was scared for a second, standing there for seconds Staring at the white garment man who spoilt my day As I opened my mouth to sing, song of hunger and despair Rented my jaw live unfermented and undiluted I had thought all my prayers had been answered that day Only to be told that fasting and prayers continue still next day With nothing to break the hunger called fasting today Dream less of the offering of the Prophets or the Levites Shall I not die on the mountain in my quest for food and work? Should we continue to disturb God for what HE already gave us? Do we still need a prophecy to fret our oppressors with whet? If the white garment man’s mountain refuse to give us our needs We shall then move our own mountain to wherever they hide And demand for all that is ours, as given by GOD but shielded by few Who use the white garment man to blind and enslave us into chains We shall leave the mountain and move to our own mountain of freedom.
