Let's Put Down Our Baggage

Let's put down our baggage
By Michelle Morris

Oh-oh-oh...
Let's put down our baggage
Let's free ourselves
Our hearts and our minds
Our bodies and our souls

Oh-oh-oh...
Let's put down our history
Let's move forward from the past
Never forget our beginnings
Or the memories built to last

So much life in our living
So much loss in our eyes
How did we let it happen?
These tears from all the lies?

What happened to honesty?
To kindness and support?
Learning from life's lessons
Is our only way forward

Oh-oh-oh...
Let's put down our baggage
Let's free ourselves
Our hearts and our minds
Our bodies and our souls

Oh-oh-oh...
Let's put down our history
Let's move forward from the past
Never forget our beginnings
Or the memories built to last

So much love in our loving
So much joy in our eyes
How can we make it last?
The healing and the progress?

What happened to forever?
To the vows we made together?
Learning to surrender our hearts
To the Universe without question

Oh-oh-oh...
We are not our baggage
We are not our past
Not our worst decision
Or the best wishes we impart

Oh-oh-oh
Love and understanding
Life and death and more
Everything is possible
Together we can soar

Oh-oh-oh...
Let's put down our baggage
Let's free ourselves
Our hearts and our minds
Our bodies and our souls

Oh-oh-oh...
Let's put down our history
Let's move forward from the past
Never forget our beginnings
Or the memories built to last

My Wishes Are Small In Size

Snowflakes don't make me forget
the lovely places where we lay...
everything that's being covered by
the cold and fluffy snow;
there are many precious things that
won't ever be buried below!

My wishes are small in size,
but big in their meaning...
like the eternal images
of a past Christmas' memory:
laughing and caroling...while
strolling down the festive streets
of a city that never stops to greet:
the stranger,the dreamer and the seeker!
My wishes are small in size...
that even imagination can't summarize!

Folks are so busy going to
and from...rushing through the drifting snow,
making sure everyone is on their list;
we are in a different kind of spirit...
the one that lasts through
this merry and thoughtful season of awe:
making wishes that have
true delights and more!

My wishes are small in size,
but big in their meaning;
as the snow slowly falls, I fantasize...
a Christmas' dream is beginning!

Scenes From Above

A face that you see everyday
That same reflection that you curse in various ways
Punished for hard living
Praised for innocent givings
Untoucheables repeatedly charmed
Because we are have-nots, we are seated and alarmed
White roses, clear caskets, and black doves
Nothing more than scenes from above
It sprinkles like hell in a well
Heavenly treasures are the remains of Satan
When the last drop of life is strained from my veins
I will not be awaking
As I am crucified on this witness stand
There's only one thing I demand
God bless the stress in my hands
The warm feeling of a passionate hug
These are Scenes from Above
I am all but a portion of Caesar
Granted extortion of a true believer
And before I leave this trial
I'll probably be slained and murdered
Over the stars
And through eternal pain my soul will be hurdled
Set me out to sea and let my flesh burn
Let my advasaries recognize stress and mourn
Forever overwhelmed with passion and love
Nothing more than Scenes From Above
I'm a few new frogs from leaping
One shoe on the logs from deeping
A handful of tears from weeping
Three scars away from being worth not keeping
Open a new testament
Why these demons bother to pester me
No telling howmany sins I am from resting in Hell
Seven seals from guessing my bail
Today may not be what it seems
But tomarrow is only a dream
I'm a few pushes from a great shove
A few Scenes From Waking Above

My Life

My life is made up of many things,
Dreams and hopes in my church hymnal.
Lyrics limping along in simple songs,
Coming out from being a ***** spiritual.

Songs that assures me of treasures
If found, are in exchange for a sacrifice.
I am guaranteed there would be tears,
and snares laid in a troublesome place.

Victory share the hope of salvation,
A temporary illusion before death.
My world is in captivity to emotion,
I stand in need with a separate breath.

life carries me to where the good intrude,
Someday done wrong, with pain sing along,
The sad melody fits the time, a hit in the mood.
And Caused my life to be in this song.

In prayer, I often look up to the sky.
And search for answers that could be mine.
But I go the way to where crows fly,
As foul as I am, the healing is inclined.

Never Enough Love

Never enough love to fill me up as a clown
when mood remains low;
I'd love to spin around twice,
hold someone's hand and fall down
to touch the world below...
as light chases away those dark clouds!

Where are the happy thoughts
that build up inside...
when fancy strikes and explodes
to make way for the sunshine?
Where's that rainbow
that promises tomorrow?

Never enough love to make me shout, spring up and suddenly soar
to forget troubling days
that make me awfully sad;
oh, I lay wishes on stars
and believe in roses without thorns,
in faces without frowns!
Oh, it would be a wonderful thing to sail on a ship to a distant shore!

Will I watch the fading sunset and dream by myself?
I'll look far away to explore feelings of solitude...
who'll be there to take me to another altitude,
if there isn't enough love to satisfy this throbbing chest?

Never enough love to give to the truest heart
whose size is the depth of the bluest sea!
If one isn't generous, that person will be lonely and out of luck;
keep on giving what you can to make everyone see
that love never says you can't win the trust of your darling...
to build up that lasting dream when reality is the surest thing!

When Darkness Starts To Dim

1. Jesus’ birth, life and death is not stardust;
He rose back to life bringing hope and trust.

Following Him brings peace as we repent
from our sins to find joy and contentment.

Searching God’s Word reaps salvation's result,
and makes praying to Him not difficult.

God never slumbers, He’s ever awake
He’s list’ning always, at night, at daybreak.

CHORUS: Sing to the Lord, He does glorious things;
Sing praises, He will attune our heartstrings.

2. What will be, will be, praise God, Almighty,
He redeemed us, with His will we agree.

When the darkness dims within the dark sky
we gaze at the Light and watch the sparks fly.

As His bless-ed Light shines bright and steadfast
the darkness of Satan just will not last.

God’s with us, do not fear what man can do;
never doubt that Jesus will see us through.

CHORUS: Sing to the Lord, He does  glorious things;
Sing praises, He will attune our heartstrings.

The Unrealized Dreams of Yesterday

Dreamer, never give up on
the unrealized dreams of yesterday;
and with nothing but hope...
you can imagine them shine,
even brighter than the furthest star...
when your sky has no other light!
Dreamer, don't put them away;
see in strides: a courageous heart!

Lay them out on the pathways...
where everyone can see them with a clear view;
dreams are lived out by those
who are free to trust and love anyone of their choice...
to let emotions speak with an inner voice;
dreamer, you can have them, too!

You could think of a possibility,
and turn it into a certainty;
never passing up that chance...
to paint the unrealized dreams of yesterday
with lively colors that can only
be found in a rainbow that delights all senses!

Aliveness comes form a surge of profound awareness...
that awakening to life may seem an illusion,
so dreamer realize the dreams of yesterday
with all thoughts and joys set on tomorrow,
and let them swirl within and immensely grow...
by not letting others interfere with your happiness,
which is often threatened by another intrusion;
dreamer, hold them in your grasp...don't let them get away!

Expanding Negative-Space

expanding negative-space

...from the eye
of an artist's
howling-pen
language-weeps

language-weeps

after-words language-weeps

from the wounds that reason makes;

seep from wounds of omission,
seep from some-deep-super-scary-Sa?sKara,
seep from some gimme-gimballed lurching-duality,

trembling from the loss of blood
lost in the wailing rhythm of suffering,
...
innocent victims like you and me,
lost between infinite-Love and "I'm not worthy",

there where the manic-music lifts
dreams farther-f u r th e r then the stretchered edges in longings go,

to those places where the bubble-breaks,
there

where all that's left is dark and deep.

Ars Poetica

it'd be indefinable and unknown,
especially unknown! and these unknowns,
they'd complete us...

it'd start with a cosmic sentiment,
a serendipity that's bent
toward this infinite-in,
where love in a radiant bouquet
bursting to blossom would begin --

there, where there's a music in you
eager to play in a mellifluous-voice
which only the heart can hear,
and it'd take you into a melodious rhythm 'n roll,
a riff 'round the sound of a whirl'd
swelling with a kiss of bliss,
'tis this that'd speak in that uncommon tongue,
the Poetic one --

it'd risk absurdity in an u n f e t t e r e d language,
divested with an unbounded-eye,
(not limited to the fatal-skin yer' in,)
that'd look and look and dare to see,
the beauty of this conflicted sentimental-reality,
this creative-destruction outpouring
into the middle of things
where good Homer nods
over a potpourri that is the Art of Poetry

Straight Up Sin

You woke on this day
your heart pounds
you can't breathe.
Contemplating your needs
your thoughts feed
the hunt.
Your focus to find
to seek
there's no truth.
Deceived by the feel
thoughts of pleasure
you feel pain.
Depression and anger
where are you
tonight.
Pacing and sweating
no relief
you can't wait.
The searching and calling
the waiting
haunts you.
Vicious is sin
and it laughs
in your face.
Straight up sin.
You lost control and let it in.
Straight up sin.
That fear is locked up inside you.
Straight up sin.
You sold your soul and found a new friend.
Straight up sin.
When will it ever end.
