A rainbow comes but once
it's rained
And at the meeting point where it's prism rays of coloured light
penetrate the earth crust
If one is to believe in fairytales a
pot of gold awaits just waiting
to be discovered
So yee of faith true believers
grab a shovel grab a spade and
help and join me in my quest
for said treasure
We're all friend's here all for
one and one for all
And if we are to strike it lucky
and make a worthwhile find
i promise i'll look after you
and you will get a fair share
Safe in the knowledge quite
well knowing should this eventuality ever happen
All bets are off , sorry what promise,
show me a signature or a contract
or word's to that effect
And now that i have found it it's mine
all mine
And heaven help anybody who
tries to seperate me
From my precious
Go and find your own rainbow
It's bound to rain again sometime
soon and if not i suggest you go and
do a rain-dance
Because i am certainly not sharing
and who needs friends anyway
I'm rich , i'm rich and if i need a friend
i can buy as many as i want
I’d rather be no one
Than just someone to you
I’d rather not exist
Than be part of the crew
I’d rather disappear
Than be unseen to you
I’d rather simply fade
Than not have proper due
I’d rather walk away
Than be another dance
I’d rather hide my soul
Than be second chance
You see, dear, I’m different
Not just part of a crowd
I’m unique, quite special
Does this make me proud?
I know what to offer
I know what I’m made of
I know when to play eagle
I know when to be dove
So my dear, I wait now
For when your eyes will see
The glory and splendor
Of a woman like me
You might be blind to color
Not see my lovely hue
Sweet and precious dear one
Here is a little clue
Multi-colored rainbow
I’m revealed after tears
I come to bring you joy
To banish gripping fears
Each and every color
Is there for you to see
But you only see shades
And not the real me
So I will vaporize
Much like the morning dew
I long to drench like rain
To soak you through and through
But you must long for me
A rain dance must perform
Then I will come real quick
Unleash my pent up storm
I will refresh your soul
Bring to life every dream
I will lead you by hand
To ever flowing stream
Once I see my beauty
Reflected in your eyes
Then I will hover near
Whisk you to paradise

Windswept
Over sheet music, harmonious movement of sand.
Droplets of rain dance - time swooning on sea and on land.
Cupid’s arrows climb, descend strings of the violin.
Heartthrobs, side by side, in best dress, on seasonal spin.
Fingers up and down long necks, in obeisance of song,
as bow ties glide along knightly, mounting music, strong.
Ultra concentration as the conductor gyrates,
creates, weights, debates, elongates, plaits and translates.
Unity in mass, jealousy laid aside, except
for the audience who longs to climb inside, windswept.
Ebb and flow of tears, patiently are kept and foreswear
allegiance to current marriage with hasty prayer.
Silver fox-french horns, don’t withhold their breaths, breasts pounding.
With lilt, rapturous, they’d give up their lives, resounding.
White pages, pristine ties, good looking manners of tides.
Hourglass climax expires. Silence shatters. Faith abides.
Farcical fancies,
Woodland rhymes,
These are not just
For bedtimes!
Farcical fancies,
Wait and see;
You’ll repeat them
Back to me!
—————
Woodpecker, really,
Won’t you hush!
By now, aren’t your
Brains all mush?
Woodpecker, silly,
Watch your head!
If I did that,
I’d be dead!
—————
Polliwog, Bullfrog,
Here’s a joke
It’s so bad,
You’ll want to croak!
Polliwog, Bullfrog
Deep, deep voice:
Burping flies;
He’s got no choice!
—————
Squirrely Tree Rat
In that tree,
Why you looking
Down at me?
Squirrely Tree Rat,
He rebuts
Accusations
That he’s nuts!
—————
Tadpole, thrashing
In the bog.
All grown up now,
You’re a frog!
Froggy, ribbiting
Never stops.
Come too close,
Away he hops!
—————
Armadillo,
He’s all that:
Cross between a
Tank and rat!
Armadillo,
Eating grubs,
Always messing
Up my shrubs!
—————
Turtle, tortoise,
Slowly roams
Wherever he goes,
Right at home!
Turtle, tortoise,
I can’t tell;
Scared and hiding
In your shell!
————
Coney, Bunny
Best beware:
Old Coyote’s
Lurking there!
Coney, Bunny,
Coyote’s there!
Hide the brush,
He likes your hare!
----------
Slippery, slimy
Snail’s so slow
Need a car ride?
Yes, car, go!
Seek and find
The slimy snail.
He can’t hide;
He leaves a trail!
—————
Sleeps all day,
The wise old owl,
Nighttime comes,
He’s on the prowl.
Little field mouse,
Brown and cute.
Owl is coming;
Time to scoot!
—————
Earthworm rain dance,
Wiggle, shout!
Best take cover,
Sun is out!
Night, night, crawler
Never learns.
Robin’s early;
Gets the worm!
—————
Red and wobbly,
Spotted fawn
Scampering
Across the lawn!
Hears a noise,
Trouble knows;
Back to mother
Quick, she goes!
—————
Old Man Crow struts,
Shouts caw! caw!
Tells the world
About what he saw.
Old Man Crow,
Word to the wise:
Caws because he’s
Full of lies!
Gladness oozes from Yolantha's fingers
Radiating warmth, gently caressing
Aftershock of angelic touch lingers
Tickles 'touchy subjects'; stress-repressing
Internal spark, external expressing
Filling Heavenly crown with jewels accrued
Invoking rain-dance-showers-o-blessing
Calming storms of amplified magnitude
Alluding, "All God's children are valued!"
Touching foreheads with fear-fever fervant
International Queen of Gratitude
Offbeat and earthy, heart of a servant
No worthy words from my pen: shooting blanks
Simply stated, "nothing better than THANKS"

(for Yolantha Pace)
It's a special rain dance,
most do not know about
and all are invited
but please leave fears behind,
that heart be delighted!
It's a special rain dance,
that’s ushered in silence,
where we're bathed in nectar
borne by bliss magnetism,
piercing every vector!
It's a special rain dance,
scented with the fragrance
of love in all its hues,
pulsating within form,
as ignition renews!
It's a special rain dance
only for pure of heart,
as dew drops of delight
transforms our mind-body,
into God's living light!

***Hope springs eternal, and I agree***
Tears Of Joy
Unlike the alleviating silence of a forest
tribulations consumed his face
Struggling against insurmountable odds
begging for undeserved grace
The aggrieved heart time mends
murmur reinvigorated unspoken love
Positivity safeguards the enervated mind
needing answers from above
Eyes pointed to the night skies
mesmerized by a star navigating alone
His soul awaken as solitude awaits heaven
for meteor showers in June
Jubilation imbued with emotions
evoke songs celebrating her radiance
Crying tears of joy silhouette in darkness
render a mystical rain dance

Oft' we've heard that trite and tiresome old cliche':
"Rain! Rain! Go away and come again another day!"
Excuse me, but I happen to hold a different point of view.
I like the rain along with a tad of lightning and thunder too!
Nearly every afternoon the heavens become dark and overcast.
Praise the Lord! We'll get some blessed rain at last!
Alas, 'tis not to be since not a threatening cloud remains;
The storm skips over us, dousing instead the Kansas plains!
Rain! Rain! Won't you come and drench my thirsty lawn?
If it doesn't happen soon, my wish for pretty roses is foregone!
The grass is so very sparse, utterly brown and barren,
That it has the appearance of the vast and arid Saharan!
The Chamber of Commerce boasts of skies sunny and clear,
So hordes of tourists come to enjoy the exquisite beauty here.
So what if a little rain spoils their pla what a dirty shame!
If they don't like it, they can return to whence they came!
I've done the Rain Dance and knelt to pray on ben'ded knee,
To proffer to that Meteorologist in the Sky my fervent plea!
Only He determines whether we deserve a drenching rain or sun.
There ain't much we can do about it, when all is said and done!

Cicadas celebrate
Wet Monday evening;
Frogs for company

Sun falls down
Evening supplication;
Sleepy earthlings rest

Moody intersection
Traffic congestion;
Decorative city lights

Speak in silence
Night owl hoots;
Silent night

Notice the stillness
Greeting with calm;
Voice beyond voice

Walking by old house
Collective memory tints;
Melancholic shades

Once again dawn hurls
Birdsong melody;
Bay window serenade

Gifts and presents
Magnificent food spread;
Come Lord Jesus
~~~~~~~~~
Sea of faces
Hungry expectations;
Festive moods
~~~~~~~~~
Balcony view
City lights glimmer;
Night sweeps away
~~~~~~~~~
Once again dusk
Ushers restive sighs;
Wine and good music
~~~~~~~~~
Misty rain dance
Children exploring wetness;
Laughter echoes
