Frangible Ego Abysmally Copes

Unrelenting blitzkrieg deadly
assault upon psyche
pounded defenseless
vulnerable mindscape accustomed
to shelter within aproned crease
mama proffered manna, especially

when untethered meek docile lad
subjected to blistering hellfire
infamous hoodlums wantonly unleashed
verbal bombardments lobbing poison
spear tipped invisible blackened barbs
manifold times more agonizing

piercing, targeting, xraying...
guaranteed fatal skull and crossbones
unseen insignia wrought utmost damage
one hundred percent accuracy
ferociously besieging, jackknifing, pummeling...
successfully character assassinating,

a diminutive boy cursed with ideal traits
strongly tempted, delectably savored,
violently bullied (short of physical
stature violated, though seditious)
emotional violation wrought lifelong
oppressive worthlessness complimented

amply by absolute zero self confidence
distilled thru conception in utero
until parturition on a bitterly cold
January thirteenth (apparently small,
medium forces at large, sans right
buffalo wing conspiracy) instigating

ear splitting wailing testing threshold
of tolerance, no crying game, but
palpable anatomical and physiological
dislocations afflicting yours truly
with breathing difficulty courtesy
submucous cleft palate pronouncing

strong nasality, when acquiring speaking
ability more cause to ridicule upon
commencing attendance within Lower
Providence School District, where kids
said nastiest, meanest, foulest, cruelest...

unsolicited comments pointedly jabbing air
mocking severe twang plus pigeon toed gait
the latter rectified with custom made
contrivance crafted by papa that forced
little feet turned outward during sleep,
which less significant aberration became

corrected as I got older, but self shaming
and blaming assimilated thru incessant
intimidation, inundation, invitation...
passive personality tacitly allowed,
provided, and enabled entire classroom
to assail helpless looking human creature
'pon entering home burst into tears!

Some would say,
although not LaoTse,
and maybe not the Lakotae,
certainly not Animae,
or my Aunty Mae
on Mary Jae,

Egos just wanna fight or flee
or something strangely Other
than with or against
ego-viral identity.

But Taoists
healthy-Yang with wealthy-Yin display,
In-between fight and flee
lies our more ambiguously WinWin transubstantiating Way,
already there,
for those who Left with Right see
what we could be
with actually quite a bit more integrity.

Synergy between opposing Elite/NonElite emotions
need not necessarily end in quick-sand
UnHoly Spirited chaos
of alien ambiguous Other,
mere positive or negative or not-not double-boundup intentions
hiding on Other side
of ego fragmentation--

Integrity remains Earth's original eco-interdependent
RightMind intuition
of and for creative dipolar apposition
between active fight and passive flee
non-abusive
non-neglectful
non ego-narcissistic
non anthro-hubris
WinWin RealTalk communication,
too non-violently curious to fight,
too non-aggressively courageous to flee.

Sometimes,
between fight and flee
and you
and me,
I prefer to listen to divinely majestic mountains
and whisper through Earth's HolySpirited valleys
promising to return
to our originally democratic
blue-green surfing sea.

Plague Year

Some will pass away
Some see the skull beneath
The skin,
Others will feel,
Living or dying,
A certain stillness
In the air,
A certain absence of movement,
Except perhaps,
When looking out of a window,
Leaves swaying gently
In the breeze
Or a blaze of colour
From early spring flowers,
But always a certain silence,
Crisp and solid like air;
And sunshine
Wrapping itself around
Contours of buildings
Revealing a geometry
Never noticed before,
All done quietly;
A seen but not heard televised
Ballet of medics on a ward
In a bubble world of ventilator machines,
Or silent images of trucks
On empty streets carrying coffins to
A crematorium.
The advantage of a plague year:
It never passes with a scream but in a whisper.

Poet's Note:

I’d like to take the opportunity to thank all those who are playing their part in the emergency ( whether in an active or passive sense ) but especially all those in the health sector many of whom are in the front line and therefore most at risk and also a big thanks to all those involved in providing essential services without which we would all be in a bigger mess than we are already. A big round of applause for all these folks please. Desi Gall

Quests Within Me

13/3/2012.

Doleful lugubrious quests feverously churn within my mind,
To quell thirst of my hunted and sought cravings consigned.
Every night and every day they scald and scorch,
Thoughts charred smothering move in and fade away, akin a blinking torch.

I seek with hankenrous desires, faux pas,
Yearn, carvel for my illusionious coveted cause.
My creased desire to be someone more,
Seems round the corner yet I keep avariciously, groping for.

As winds of change blow silently into rough seas, my ambitious dreams,
The pent up rage inside me emerges out with venomous gleam.
Their sputum wraths will spittle at what others, of me think,
Its unchained fury will ravage from sanity’s brink.

I want to free my thoughts from silo and rules,
Live life like a game, full of fun and not like laboring mules.
I have fought and succeeded to become what I am now
But I realize that that I am still not free from that yearning vow.

No moment passes when occur passive thoughts of who I will become
All the emotions I have kept caged up and kept under my frozen hum.
I keep dreaming and longing for what I should have been,
And what I should have done and what was apt for me.

Little did I realize that all the encountered impossible situations,
Were great opportunities of simple manifestations.
And sometimes we need to die a little inside,
To rise again, stronger and wiser outside.

Doleful lugubrious quests feverously churn within my mind,
I seek with hankenrous desires, of all kind.
As winds of change blow silently into rough seas, my ambitious dreams,
I want to free my thoughts from silo and rules and illusionary, imaginary themes………

In the cathedral of my thoughts, words rise like incense smoke towards the vaults of the unknown,
And I, a pilgrim through the labyrinth of my own consciousness, seek to catch moonbeams in a net, to weave from them the mantle of the ineffable.
Ancestral voices resound from the depths, speaking of art that conquers time and space,
I let myself be carried by the wave of verses, like an angel's feather in the divine wind, floating beyond the boundaries of nature.
I am no longer myself, but the cosmic eye that sees, the universal ear that hears, the eternal heart that feels,
The veil of Maya melts away, worldly tales scatter in the wind, leaving only the pure state, the sacred essence of living.
I read poetry and become poetry, the analytical mind melts like candle wax before the divine flame,
Only I and the primordial Word remain, in a cosmic dance, in a mystical communion with hidden meanings.
I am passive and awake, like a holy lake reflecting the stars, yet ready to receive divine revelation,
I listen to the echoes of words in the caves of my soul, feeling their vibration in every atom of my being.
I wait with humility for the poem to find me, to inhabit me, to become my temple and altar,
I am a seeker of supreme truth who has abandoned his ego at the gates of poetic paradise.
I open like a chakra to the touch of cosmic energy, receiving epiphanies and ecstasies as celestial gifts,
In this openness, the silence in words finds its echo in the eternal silence deep within my being.
I am "I am," my divine essence, beyond the veil of illusion, beyond ephemeral masks and roles,
Words are merely sacred mantras, keys that unlock the gates of perception in the sanctuary of the reader's heart.
And thus, in the uninterrupted flow of divine consciousness, poetry and poet merge into the primordial One,
And the melancholic magic of existence is born from the cosmic dance between sound and silence, between form and void.

Virgo

Virginis incorruptus*, like Georgie's ax, we cannot lie,
Instinctive Leo in descent positioned Libra's meant vie,
Reliable, efficient, rational, and passive ally,
Grossly stubborn and sarcastic, calculating by and by,
Overthinkers, worrywart...best and worst, we identify.

Premium Member Are You Angry

When I see injustice bribe
The heart with hope
The mind with confidence
The soul with enlightenment
Anger silences my dreams
Colors my voice, my speech
In hues of exasperating need

When I see darkness begin
To win the struggle, making sin
Feel like it should be the answer
The reason, the way between
Doubt and fear – silencing joy
With noise so vicious it pours
Pandemonium into the heart
Turbulence into the passive spirit
Turmoil into the one who remembers
Confusion, disillusion, chaos…
Anger so bitter it feels infuriating
Like desolation pouring over light

When I see someone reject the fact
That anger, sometimes, will reflect
The right way, the truth, the honesty
Faith everlasting, reassuring, promising
Even though God is surely LOVE –
He can become angry at the sinfulness
Immoralities, depravities, wrongs
That echo the shadows of a heart
Who needs to know that God is alive
And He will give a verdict to the crimes

Anger is given a bad name by those
Who don’t want to admit, God Himself
Lay claim to the anger – righteous anger
When hearts, deceitful about all things,
Gave Him a reason to feel the pangs
Fury poured out on the one who knows
God has the strength to abolish sin
With whatever means He might see fit

Anger, my friend, is a needed feeling
When there is a reason, yes.. anger is
A blessing from the maker of the air we’re breathing
