When you need to yell?
Nothing else will really calm you.
Your flash flood can’t be held.
Those words that are tar on your throat
linger on a self inflicted ball gag;
You just won’t walk out of silence;

Man, I absolutely love an uncivilized
scream in my car;

Wandering through the house with keys
you’ve become frozen in place;
Tearing up a piece of paper everyday
you take out rage on something tangible;
It helps but only just to the side of relief.
Really what you want is to punch a wall
or shatter a vase all over the floor;
Still all you need is a full tank of gas;

Man, I absolutely love an uncivilized
scream in my car;

With just one touch on the accelerator
everything is finally able to be freed;
The death grip on that steering wheel
is all you need to finally set yourself free;
Don’t ever ignore your anger,
just go explore a brand new back road.

Man, I absolutely love an uncivilized
scream in my car.

Yorkshire Red

They called me a Communist
When only just a teen
Nothing much has changed in
Those  Sixty years in between.
My village once had fourteen farms
Now it’s just got one or two
Those employed in the village
Are now very far and few.
It’s commuter land these days
Almost deserted on weekdays
An almost soulless place
With modern village ways.

There was  Social Housing then
Now it’s mainly owner occupied
Very few common folk there
Now it’s well and truly gentrified.
The old Falcon Inn once well used
As village meet and social club
Has been renovated and become
A stylish seldom open Gastro Pub.
My dad’s old cottage still stands
Only because it’s been listed
Next door has been knocked through
As though it had never existed.

Two hundred years the family home
Now any trace of us long gone
It’s what these days they call progress
As life ambles and stumbles on.
A place of many required lessons
Which I never did manage to learn.
Only old family graves there now
So I seldom bother to return.
They called me a Communist
Because I wouldn’t doff my cap
To the Johnny-cum-lately Squire
Touring the village by pony and trap.

Premium Member Restless

Another one of these restless nights of mine,
As I lay here, beneath the ceiling fan’s lights.
Thinking about everything that has been on my mind,
Letting reality as it is, slowly yet surely sink in.
Seems if only just for tonight, music is my elixir,
While I ponder about just how much I’ll ever mean to others.
Another one of these solitary nights of mine,
As I sit here writing out what’s momentarily on my mind.
Feeling as though I’ll never make it as far in life as I’d like,
For not too long ago, the world had put out the flames of my passions.
Oh these songs, the only things capable of mending my soul,
All while I remain pondering
Whether or not this life of mine will truly be worth living.
Another one of these sleepless nights of mine,
As I lay beneath the comforter, waiting for a dream to occur.
Hoping that through mine dreams
I shall see the future that is worth waiting for.
Leave me be as I finally sleep
For the world of dreams is where I am most happy.
Seems if only just for tonight, peace of mind is all I need,
As I drift off to sleep, as though I realized
Mmy life as it is, is how it’s meant to be.

In life, there are moments
Moments when you must trust
Moments when you still feel like dust
Moments when you’re lost in disgust

In life, there are days
Days when you feel like crying
Sometimes it’s the hearts defying
Even feels like you’re lost – sighing

In life, there are times
Times when your heart can’t decide
Times when the valley is wide
Times when the blood is applied

In life, there are joys
Joys that come from seeing Him
Joys that fill your cup to the brim
Joys that reveal life’s best hymn

In life, there are hopes
Hope that time will give you grace
Hope that comes from seeing love’s face
Hope that comes from feeling His embrace

In life, there are forgiven hearts
Forgiven for the sin that smarts
Forgiven for the kindness that departs
Forgiven by the love Jesus Himself imparts

In life, there are songs
Songs of love, laughter and light
Songs that fade beneath shadows at night
Songs that amaze me with their insight

In life, there is One
One who is God’s Son
One who has only just begun
To show the world what love has done!

In life, in death, in everlasting
There is a hope that’s forecasting
Love that we should all be broadcasting
Because this love is forever – it’s outlasting

So whatever comes, this side of paradise
We will know love that paid the price
Offering up the greatest sacrifice
God’s gift of grace will always suffice

Premium Member Wolf Pine

A magic place, lone tree at forest’s side
A huge wolf pine that stands alone like me
It marked a boundary once where sheep would hide
Beneath green needled branches of that tree

It’s where I always go when things go wrong
I pull the forest’s shadows over me
And watch those shadows dance with silent song
My back pressed up against that old pine tree

The cruel remarks, the shunning that was there
Without a why or reason I could see
While others simply watched without a care
And smiled to see the blush of pain in me

I tell myself I still have all my pride
My journey starts, its only just begun
The woods are mine, the forest deeps abide
I’m on my way, I walk into the sun

An old man now with memories at night
But comfort from the thoughts of that lone pine
The fragments of those times have lost their might
Just shadows now with passing of the time.

Premium Member Only You

Only you

Only, nobody, maybe you will be a way
The way, the only one, hope is straight

Straight, your crown is bright, fine of us
The wonder of life is you. Only just you

My life is paying attention to loving you
I know the sin of the past, missed times

…missed you…

We can’t delete it; we need to live in it
Yes. Our lost lives. The lost lives. Hmm

Far. Far. Flying souls above the skies
Hmm. I want to follow them. Our lives

Your new style. Over my life. See bye
The better bye on the other side. Bye

Our lives are not mine. Hmm. No. Mine
Deadness here. My life follows our lives

We live together, waiting for you in our lives
Our lives, our kind, calling you. Other side

Only You, I loved you
Only you, hmm
Stay there
From far
Love
Hmm
We
You

The Owl and the Wolf

I am an owl in the night asking, 'who-
Who' makes those lunic shapes in the distance?
It is the wolf howling under the moon.
She echo’s in the night, it’s a smooth trance.

I am hiding, perched up under and through,
Nestled in to share fear with trembling trees.
The eve air drags her howls past forest roofs
Towards the silvery dusk above me.

I am drunk by the silence that followed
Sunken deep by shadows of evening gloom.
Dreams to own this space are quickly swallowed
And my wings hold onto my sweet hoo hoo’s.

For the wolf, she wanders fiercely to dawn
And the sleeping sun has only just gone.

This Life That I Live

The life that I live

Time is not infinite; life is only finite.
Please do never waste my time, for I only have this one life.
The day are not all numbered, we have only just begun to love.
This love you people speak of…will it ever be enough?

I can repeat the mistakes and I can make a change,
But I chose to do neither; I must find my way,
To become a better human being.
I have never been like you with your liar’s true feelings.

In the pit of my stomach I know there is really nothing wrong,
But still I go on passionately apathetic to all the faults you own.
I am not saying I deserve this or regret hearing what you want;
I am simply stating that I hate you for leaving me all alone.

My water is so full of salt, drinking leaves me crazy.
This glass is no longer drinkable, for it tastes of forgotten ladies.
I am forever dying from your thirst,
Without the realization that love is my curse.

Forever searching inside illusions;
My ghostly hands look real to me.
I am lost in a place of complete confusion;
I am lost in your reality.
Negative is my positive;
I carry lightning with my thunder.
Behind sunglasses I hide behind eye-lids,
This cursed spell I am under.

Yesterday and Tomorrow

What if the two could meet?
An encounter so beautiful and, oh so sweet

Lovely thoughts of days past dancing with
blissful dreams of tomorrow
Intriguing, stimulating thoughts of the mind
with an elated heart to follow

Sir Kronos! Tell me!
I mean, could the two truly ever be?

Yesterday left just as quickly as she came and
tomorrow, well, she's a picturesque silhouette just
waiting on the horizon

Utopia! Oh, sweetness!

How I impatiently wait and dream of the infinite
possibilities that just keep rising

My! Great distances between to my dismay
If only, just only could they meet TODAY

Getting Darker All the Time On This Ride

It's getting darker

All the time

I sit alone

It's getting darker

With every poem

I try and include

Another a one single person more

You know the score

No need for or telling you

How stupid and disrespectful of me

Thinking or believing

It's only just poor little me

Who knows

It's getting darker all the time

As you yourself aren't blind either

It's just none of can see

When all the lights have gone out

And we are left

Contemplating and imagining

What is truly going on out there and happening

In the pitch dark journeying on this ride forth

All alone without someone else's

Comforting hand to hold onto
