Looking at the clouds in the sky above
I have often pondered and wondered why
Why love is like a raindrop in ways there of
Meant to stay then be released after a while
The symbolism reflected in that raindrop
Like the circumference of a tear and a sigh
It will fall from the sky and won't stop
You may even see it as it passes you by
What words would it have me to say?
What words would it have me compile?
There is nothing left I can do but pray
Pray that I can make you smile for a while
Because that raindrop still passes us by
With many tears shed and a broken heart
As it leaves and drops from the cloudy sky
Hoping happy memories will never depart
Crushing as a raindrop crashes to the ground
The puddle remains showing what is reflected
Broken hearts in pools of water now drowned
The cycle of love has now been perfected
Perfect we loved without any remorse
Feeling the pain and this sorrowful heart
For in that pain true love was endorsed
Seared into my heart even for my small part
My part I played perfectly with no regrets
But the sorrow will remain likes clouds above
Memories with each raindrop I'll never forget
It was true and you will forever be my love
Time came when she could no longer afford her pretty makeup.
No money for saloon, she couldn’t imagine the kind of life she had given up.
And the child she gave birth to wasn’t brown skinned
So her and Mr. Peter could no longer put up.
She was working hard trying to convince him that she was a good wife.
But Mr Peter got Haniphah who was prettier and thought would change his life.
Mama Nisha was no longer the pretty angel but just a housewife.
This is a story of a single mother's life.
She is a warrior.
She has got the courage.
She is no stranger to life.
She seeks no new face.
She doesn't need your sympathy.
She knows she is a good mother.
She moves out and finds a bedsitter for her and her little girl Nisha.
She is a soldier with a baby as a uniform in the battle field of life.
All night long she sings a song, “Tulo Tulo kwata Nisha”.
She moves on with her life.
With a smile on her face like she's got no regrets from yesterday.
She needs a man.
But the one she has got is out there having fun with another woman.
So she decides to take her time.
Because she doesn’t want to get another who is just like the other.
Her feet have walked on broken glass.
And won’t stop just for another heartbreak.
Mama Nisha is a village woman.
All she knew was to respect her man.
But then he left her, he left with Haniphah.
Now she knows more, she knows her worth.
She won’t wait for a loser or settle for less.
She knows she needs a real man.
One who won't love her for her makeup.
But rather love her for her beautiful smile and the makeup on her brains.
She knows she has got a daughter to raise.
She has got bills to pay.
And to Nisha, she is the mother and the father.
Every morning, she puts Nisha on her back.
As she out to face the world.
She needs to hustle so they can eat.
Bills are high let alone the cost of living is high.
Taking baby steps to change her life.
She knows she will reach no turn back.
She doesn’t pray for luck.
She only prays she never gets stuck.
Mama Nisha is a single Mother.
"There is no love like a mother's love"
Caught up in the moment of a deep dream,
Myself drifting further than it would seem,
Although unaware of one's own true self,
I leave behind all my worries of health.
As orchestras sound and play in the mind,
Taken away on this journey in time,
While violins and great horns burst out free,
Captured the act of spiritual glee.
Quintessentially verbalized of course,
Within the dream world, there is no remorse,
No regrets, no shame, just a state of bliss,
In this realm, freedom to be as you wish.
You will be amazed at what you will find,
The dream world to me has always been kind.

The end of this beautiful life.
Holding on to the edge of the world
And we are all about to lose our grip!
Wishing I could have been anywhere else!
When all they told us never cured my fear!
I've been told that this is the beginning of life,
But everything is just not what it seems…
All I wanted was a love to be strong,
But I can never learn how to forgive!
Summer dies and the sun no longer shines,
In this little town I don't call my home.
I've been told that the good will out,
But I can't even stand up, to stand alone!
Feelings change but the day is the same
And I guess that's why nothing will ever change!
All along I knew that they were all wrong,
But I could never find a beautiful way!
Bitter lies are all I have ever heard
And now I never know who I can trust!
In this life we are given just one chance,
But I could never raise a smile to the sun!
Blind my eyes, give me cancerous bones,
It's just another Devil's cunning trick.
They keep on saying that things will get better,
But I have seen so much that I can no longer believe!
Where is the hope, of which they spoke?
Another promise broken and another disease.
All that they did never affected me,
It just left a black hole in place of my soul!
In these days of having everything we crave,
Why can I not just get a little hope?
At the end can we stop pretending,
That the better times are up ahead?
I’ve seen you all and I will watch your planet crumble
And I will leave this place to burn and have no regrets!
If all we are is just a dying breed
And we are underneath a dying star!
Why can’t we do what we know we must do?
I guess our greed will leave us all dead in the end!
Humanity, where is the humanity?
We have no reason to carry on.
Our times has come, under a dying sun
And soon we will all just be gone!
Beautiful horizon I see you fading away
And all that’s left is a stump they used to call an oak.
If we can’t stop then what will become of this place?
The pollution mask will not protect you from their smoke.
It’s the end of a beautiful world
And it’s a place I do not even recognize!
It’s evolution and the beginning of a species reborn,
Because in the end all we have left to do is die!

When I was young and in my prime,
I knew I’d be famous one day.
Although I hadn’t worked out how,
I was quite sure I’d find a way.
I’d play cricket or football for England
And win the World Cup again.
Then win an Olympic gold medal
And become a household name
Or maybe I’d be an actor,
A star of stage and screen,
With a mantlepiece full of Oscars
And be knighted by the Queen.
But now I’m old and past my prime
And none of those things have occurred.
Outside of my own little circle,
My name has never been heard.
But, when the final curtain falls
And the mourners have drifted away,
I’ll leave the stage with no regrets
At the end of my own little play.
You are my place of comfort –
despite our battles fought.
No doubt, we’ve been through Hell and back –
with tears and eyes bloodshot.
We’ve traversed darker places –
(places) we should’ve never gone.
But it has made us stronger –
I’m so grateful we’ve held on.
For a love like this is rare –
and sweetheart, you are my best friend.
Despite all that we’ve been through –
still found each other in the end.
Someday here soon, we’ll reunite –
and my tummy will do flips.
God, I can hardly wait –
to taste the hope upon your lips.
Nor can I wait to gaze into –
Your galaxies of eyes.
Can’t wait to kiss your cheeky-cheeks –
with only you does my love lay.
Our souls are oh so close –
almost as one, but not quite yet.
Someday, you’ll be my husband –
we’ll say “I do’s” with no regrets.
Our love is so unique –
there’s nothing else that could compare.
No, you could not convince me –
that we are not the perfect pair.
Your laughs, your smiles are perfect –
and I believe you feel the same…
about my laughs and giggles –
(though some of them do sound insane)
Your body keeps me warm at night –
when you hold me so close.
But I guess when you roll over –
I can forgive you I suppose.
But anyways, back to the point –
love you with all my heart.
So, here’s to brighter days ahead –
(with) a fresh and brand new start.
As I sat on the couch in the living room,
I began to think about life and how it
goes by in a flash.
And what would I do if death came
knocking right then and there.
Had I made amends with the creator?
Am I a woman of integrity? Would I
plead for my life and beg for more time?
Did I have any regrets? Did I live my life
to the fullest? Did I rebuild the bridges
that I’ve burned?
I realized at that very moment that I
fell short. I haven’t lived my life to
the fullest; I haven’t lead a noble and
just live. Death is an appointment that
I can't cancel. I started to rack my brain,
wondering what to do; as the tears
began to flow, I thought, about how
unpredictable life is? It takes many turns.
Each day we live, we are close to death.
In an instance, my answer came through
my tears.
I had gotten a breakthrough.
As long as I have life in me, I must focus
on the things that matter most. Live each
day as though it was my last, aim to live
a life free of regrets.

If today was my last day,
I would tell my friends, family and
even my foes
how much they have influenced my life;
if today was my last day,
I would embrace the weather
whether it is winter or summer;
if today was my last day,
I would offer apologies to
those I have offended
and to those I have hurt;
if today was my last day,
I would ensure that the people
left behind know that I love them
and that the life I lived was a blissful one;
if today was my last day,
I would thank the Lord for giving me
the time on earth and be wishful that I have
accomplished all that He has set out for me from birth;
if today was my last day,
I would want it to be a day
of no regrets,
a day where there is more laughter than tears
if today I took my last breath
I would want it to be a day,
where I smelled the flowers,
where I glance at Table Mountain for the last time
and whisper Lord, I was truly blessed…
Contest: If I had just one day left to live
Placed: 5th
20,000 Days
Thinking of my life
20,000 days behind me
Days of challenges and thrills
Love and battles completed with valor
So many experiences I had
So many more I wanted to do but never got around to
There were things I should have said
Others I regretted the second they flew from mouth
Did I do everything I could in those 20,000 days?
There was wasted time I know
Feelings that died inside me without a whimper
Others released without abandon to be lost in reality
I am not sure how many days I have left
A mere seven or another 20,000 to look forward to
My body frails with every passing second
The energy I had in now just a fading memory
Will I have the time to do what I never got done?
May I say what I should have or taken back my mistakes
I have no choice how long I will last in this body
Maybe 20,000 days is just enough for a mortal human
20,001 may be too much
19,999 may be one to few for a life to matter
It is all up to the immortals Fates to decide
But, all in all I have led a good life so let the Fates come
I will go with no regrets and a smile on my face
That will be my choice
You never knew that I loved you,
But I was always around you.
I spent my free time with you always,
You could not smell my love from afar.
You told my friend that you loved her.
I was so furious you didn't know why.
With a sense of an 'unreturned' love,
I walked away to start a new life.
I could not love anyone for long,
For I was so sored and so pained.
But I knew then that very soon,
My true love will emerge on the scene.
I've no regrets that you didn't love me,
For I have found now a better love.
My new love is so sweet and so pure,
Better than what I had had for you
Chorus
Don't love me again,
don't love me.
I don't need your love,
don't love me
