To Young For War

Men glassed, broke, gunned down, dying
Why do they feel the need for all this fighting,
Over pigment precious postcodes and petty people lying,
Now there up in the sky flying.

Lay down your guns,
To save our daughters and sons,
Lay down the weapons,
Before more lives are taken,
No more souls need to be souring through the skies.

One stupid situation now causes a life to be taken,
Everyone seems to be be carrying a knife, gun or weapon,
Which is fine until disrespect is thrown around for fun,
Your disrespect has you staring down the barrel of a gun,
And then bang you’ve just disrespected the wrong one,

Lay down your guns,
To save our daughters and sons,
Lay down the weapons,
Before more lives are taken,
No more souls need to be souring through the skies.

A war on the streets has begun,
It’s to late for mothers to try and save there sons,
Ones banged up 25 to life
Another’s young soul is soaring through the skies.

Lay down your guns,
To save our daughters and sons,
Lay down the weapons,
Before more lives are taken,
No more souls need to be souring through the skies.

As you rise ranks you slaughter your brothers homies the lot
This is what you really want to be on top,
Putting people 6 feet under Before they can steal your slot,
It’s easy right all it took was just one solitary shot.

Lay down your guns,
To save our daughters and sons,
Lay down the weapons,
Before more lives are taken,
No more souls need to be souring through the skies.

You fiercely fight for this so called rep,
And wont tolerate discriminative disrespect,
Yet the you the streets preach racism and hate
Ruling with violence so you can dominate.

Lay down your guns,
To save our daughters and sons,
Lay down the weapons,
Before more lives are taken,
No more souls need to be souring through the skies.

They don't understand you have to protect your people,
Save the ones you love from such poverty and evil,
While keeping the food on the table,
The streets holla to make an easy dollar,
But at what price is a human life,
Think before you pull out that knife.

Lay down your guns,
To save our daughters and sons,
Lay down the weapons,
Before more lives are taken,
No more souls need to be souring through the skies.

                             4/5/2025

On my picket fence, irritating, screeching black crows at me,
do sounds, so fearlessly make!
So having had it, I bought a lovely, pine cottage, on the
shores of Angel Cloud Lake.

There I will begin writing my book and yes, it already has an editor
and a first custmer…….really is my heart’s secret song.
I am committed to fine work,no matter how long!

My mentor, in England, knows that penning truth is my passion,
aware of both angels and devils, that do abound.
As a fireplace blazes and sets my ideas, so logicallly sound.
Oh, how many decades on doing this, I,with joy, finally found!

I am reaching for the moon, not one to hide from truth, lest I pen
beauty, be neath words of trivial muck and mire!
Or, worse..to write poetry as soul touching, as a flattened, old tire?

The world is full of classic poets, sadly loathed by the younger
generation.
Wherein poets like Shakespeare and Keats, do lie with their works,
devoured by some, mad, popular poet- form infestation!.

                      Panagiota Romios  OPA!

                    Dedication to Robert Lindley

With my honor and love, to Robert Lindley! Though you are not writing at present, you saw something in me, that I did not see. I do not think I am
great or stunning!….
But you told me that, “even though nobody would read me, to not let that
stop me! I kept my word to him So thank you, Robert wherever you are.. I do miss you. And your impeccable poetry. And character.

Love…Panagiota

Marble crosses of faith
                                    A solemn reminder
                           Of those who shared one goal
                               Freedoms fight for glory
                               Grief of nations, their toll

                                 Marble crosses of faith
                                Buried soldiers, lay deep
                                Surrendering to death
                                 To honor their belief
                          Fighting with their last breath

                               Marble crosses of faith
                         In depths deep with promise
                       Known and unknown they sleep
                               A duty, not in vain
                       A pledge they fought to keep

                             Marble crosses of faith
                             Reeling above the sea
                          A humble place of peace
               Where headstones mark their graves
                          The price of war to cease

                                   Let us convey His peace
                                    With wreaths of purity
                               That man may feel His bliss

                                 When shining spring sets in,
                                The earth takes a new birth
                                 Sheds all its snowy screen
                                   Dons itself a new dress
                                    To boast as a queen;

                               When shining spring sets in,
                                Let`s welcome it with thrill
                                With its carpets of greens
                                   On the bed of all hills
                              Which every eye can glean;

                              When shining spring sets in,
                                Trees cloak in newer veils
                               To court singing sparrows,
                                Eye flowers in full bloom
                                 And vie with their halo;

                             When shining spring sets in,
                               Human heart swells anew;
                           With the warm breeze of spring,
                               The spirit beams with joy
                             And souls with bliss do swing.

Stand at the waters edge
it's you I long to see,
over an ocean blue.
Walk the sand to find peace,
as I wait to see you.

Stand at the waters edge
watching the morning sun,
you have been in motion.
I miss our fun all day,
in the cool wet ocean.

Stand at the waters edge
remembering you left,
watching the birds go by.
Oh my heart was left here,
I just wanted to die.

Stand at the waters edge
come home very quickly,
I will pray on one knee.
Our time is standing still,
you still belong to me.

Along the path of life
                                         An abiding faith lies,
                                    The primrose lines the way
                                Through winter’s harshest wrath;
                                        A vernal lush display.

                                        Along the path of life
                                   Amongst abandoned leaves,
                                     Vibrant, petal gems rise
                                    On mounds of jaded green;

                                     Through fickle April skies.

                                       Along the path of life
                                        Serenity and peace,
                                  Where Lenten Roses bloom;
                                    Evergreen woody stems
                                 Emerging from earths womb.

 " There is a life and there is a death,
and there are beauty and melancholy between."

                                           Quote _ Albert Camis

Everything was fading ...
and I was just floating,
in a white gauzy place;
and I heard mother's voice,
then, glimpses of her face !

Everything was fading ...
my name was an echo,
in a forest sublime;
I ran towards her voice,
that sweet voice lost in time !

Everything was fading ...
I ran through tangled trees,
weeping, please wait for me;
and the soft wind whispered,
go back- angel would be !

Everything was fading ...
I could hear odd noises,
sister kissing my hand;
her tears wet on my skin,
back- I held tight her hand !

Everything was fading ...
the forest became dreams,
yet, I was filled with peace;
and my heart held no doubt,
life is a masterpiece !
