Circa February 28th, 1968 - The Former Leiper Estate
Soon after our family settled

It wasn't exactly my plan
To give this world the upper hand
In turning me into what I appear to be
That is a Bionic Man
It was an innocent start
This hardening of heart
That no longer feels sorrow for the troubles of man
I'm afraid this hearts made of steel
That no longer can feel
Making me out to be a Bionic Man
What about the warm hand I used to hold out
To the stranger in doubt
Now this hand has become as cold as ice
I find that these days
That it barely waves
To the neighbors that I have in my life
Bionic Man, Bionic Man
No want for the unwanted
When there's no love for fellow man
I've become a machine
No need for those who are in need
When I've become what I am
The Bionic Man
Then there's the mind
That is cynical most times
Not knowing who are what to believe
I know its not right
But this mechanical mind
Forms opinions before facts even seen
Steely gray eyes when they stare
Show they could not even care
What goes on between you and me
Sometimes their droopy and tired
When not properly wired
Their numb to all of the things that I see
Bionic Man, Bionic Man
No want for the unwanted
When there's no love for fellow man
I've become a machine
No need for those who are in need
When I've become what I am
The Bionic Man
Blackened shells gliding through finite shadows,
their engines burning like the dead's desolate fires.
Wheels devour roads, unraveling beneath them,
miles swallowed, expelled into an endless ether.
Time bleeds on cracks in black asphalt,
slipping between fangs of jagged metal n rust,
coalescing around headlights, flicking in distant ghosts.
Each turn spirals inward, a labyrinth of smoke,
its destination drowned in the Obscurity
of a thousand shattered moons.
Silent passengers sit with hollowed eyes,
faces veiled at dusk, hands grasping bone
white at, steering wheels.
They follow lines drawn by figures unseen,
etched into the skin in this barren world,
seeking an exit, crumbling
Minds are lost before it’s found.
Bridges crumble under the weight of ill-gotten souls,
steel carcasses, glass & bone suspended
over black rivers of endless echos,
currents thick with the scent of decay.
There is no sky here, only blank stares from eternity,
A Will heavy as gravity, pinning down stars.
Horizons swallow themselves, folding inward
the night was a collapsing void.
Still, the cars press forward onward.
Tires, sinking deeper into the fleshly road.
They seek nothing found at every turn.
Their purpose, a secret whispered only by the dark,
a void speaks not in words.
They travel toward their destination: silence,
Heart of wastelands & deserts of sand
where the air tastes of ash, and time drips like oil
from mouths of unseen mechanical beasts.
Beneath the surface, something stirs,
its pulse felt only in the trembling of the earth.
It is written in a fine fragle film of dust.
Abandon things, machines, & auto parts.
On a plane, no sound travels from forgotten wheels.
And still, the cars move ever onward.
Each journey spirals into another,
each driver locked in eternal circles,
following a map that was never drawn,
on roads that lead nowhere & everywhere
into the waiting arms of creation.
The worst lie
is the one you tell yourself.
The greatest lie
is the belief in that construct
of the mind
that you have an actual self
to lie to.
Truth is empty of the notion of you.
A lie is nothing but you.
Look to the pinecone,
the open cone,
look from that third eye
that spirit-sight gave to you
then hid
in the mechanical madness of the brain.
That gland set there like a prismatic jewel
in the grey matter of illusion
wherein dark is brighter than light.
Those who understand the symbiology
of gnosis
will not need to name it
other than that gateway
to that Higher Self
of your Godhead.
Relentless.
My life keeps rolling
down the same
old train track
Chugga-chugga-chugga-chug!
rhythm in my brain
Like toy trains
mechanical and
steady, their
throbbing beat
predetermined path repeats
predictable loop
One track mind
takes me nowhere, but
feels oddly
comforting
stifling complacency
the near death of me
Frenemies
my lagging caboose
I let loose
so relieved!
Plugging ahead, no restraint
Chugga-chugga-WHHOOOO!
And 'though I
cannot control the
scenery
or weather,
I find freedom in
unhitching whole rail-cars of
passengers and freight
Disruptive
adding too much weight...
Made it hard
to climb these
necessary mountains and
keep moving ahead
Lighter now
I look for ways to
still improve
add more coal
on inner fires, dreams and
desires fueled up
Gaining speed
this loop is too small
to contain
zest for life
my feisty trajectory
what is best for me
Terrified
I hit the switch and
pray that my
timing is
on target, switching the tracks
before it's too late
Brand new scenes
unfold beyond me
Truthfully
they're scary!
Unknown opportunities
frightening to me
Limitless
too big to express
these tracks called
Hope- sometimes
threaten to derail me, but
get me back on course...
And 'though I
have no idea
where I'm bound
what I'll find
I know I'm going somewhere
...no more one track mind!

Listed as Free Verse, but actually another Shadorma form...
Oh No Mister Bill! Not Another Car Repair!
Aside from vehicular insurance, you
must be aware another
reason car ownership
finds me being privy
to possessing Hyundai Sonata (2009)
title purposelessness too
raising a futile cry and hew
stems from accursedly unexpected
mechanical malfunctions due
to arise unpredictably,
thus before bidding thee adieu
lemme share another source,
plus absolute zero clue,
how I will pay for necessary part
(linkedin with brake system)
exacerbates psychological glue
mean us - as addressed
in previous poems
wretched formative years I drew
majority of existence, now
lemme enlighten how a new
whistling noise detected earlier
by this gentile (actually atheist) Jew
(December 26th, 2018),
yea me Match Chew
felt his heart sink,
and mine key intuition knew,
there goes social security
disability - yepper flew
right out the window
good as flushing down the loo,
cuz acute hearing discerned
an unfamiliar sound which drew
audiological attention particularly
to passenger rear wheel,
analogous to bleating ewe
where without wooly sheepish
doubt, I smelled burnt offerings and heard
distinct noise unfamiliar and new,
which automotive distress immediately
altered my epidermal hue
cuz checking account still in ICU
(prognosis grim) like an
overworked choo choo,
thus emotional state now going
haywire hullabaloo
finding writing rhyming
poem meagerly sue
tub bull and wishfully, pointlessly,
and dreamily cross fingers,
and toes to rue
min ate ting winning
powerball jackpot and moo
hoove varying into lap of living
socially within human zoo
instead of feeling boiled
for cannibal stew!
You try to make them civilized and grown-up,
but the words are infants,
they want to crawl around and yell for a bit.
You know that an eye is upon you.
watching you in that whelping room
where creation rearranges molecules
into a planetary system of speech
made of matchsticks and glue.
A poem is about to be splashed,
onto a speeding window of light.
Logic and reason must first
bash their bulbous heads together,
until their mechanical, self-winding brains
fall out.
The collective humming of incubators,
begins to lipread your silence.
A process similar to hand washing.
Eventually a swaddled indigenous form,
unwraps itself,
it begins to walk upright.
Matchsticks and glue
form readable fragments.
You begin to hope,
that someone inside that watching eye
will name what you have done -
even attempt,
to explain it to you.
Time flies like a fiery peregrine.
Infinity takes its bronze sweetened time.
Seeing all with the opaque eye of an aged terrapin.
Time is a tambourine -it has little mercy.
It'll wake you from your sweetened sleep.
Infinity is the fluted Buddha of compassion.
A shaman of other-worldly things.
In between lies a wizard placing souls in a crystal ball.
Shaking out the nightmare from their dreams.
The well-intentioned walk the earth searching for the key.
To unlock the treasure chest to life's grand mystery.
Some take the Ayahuasca path into other realms.
To forever mince the ego within its iron shell.
One trip brings a crystal forest of angels.
The other, the fractal mind of mechanical elves.
A carnival ride into a slanted room of mirrors.
Where seekers are seen forever searching for the self.
Jesus, the pristine, forgotten upon a restless throne.
Rehearsing parchment lines for the final scene...
The immaculate firefly, forever gently guiding.
The faithful along the long-ragged path to back home.
Foreword: This poem is inspired by F. Chopin's Ballade in G Minor op. 23 and the anime "Your Lie in April". The number are timestamps from a video of that performance so that you can imagine and feel the lines more. Try listening to it while reading this poem.
Note (for a contest): Aside from what's stated in the foreword, this poem is trophy-worthy because of its form & delivery. :)
[0:10-2:50]
The first note resounds in the room
Slowly pronouncing its every chord;
Cautiously, but gently it's played,
Its sound deep but sincere
The melody gradually grows
Louder but gracefully flows
Careful to keep in tune
In rhythm like a metronome
They say you've no heart
A mechanical robot that's programmed
But witness thy playing
Pouring out its emotions and feelings
The piano's speaking
It tells a tale of beginning
How it felt so monotonous
Gray and hopeless
[2:51-5:20]
It tells a tale of renewal
Everything filled with color
As chords turn to melodies
Intricate and delicate
[5:21-5:51]
Then it changes course
As the sounds tend to skip
A happy tune is being played
A perfect harmony
[5:52-6:58]
But all good things must come to an end
The music shifts into dissonance
The dynamics got intense
What was once piano became forte
[6:59-7:32]
Thy piano called out to you
And you looked back
You smiled one last time
And looked on ahead
[7:33-8:35]
The music went on
You started to fade away
As the notes came rushing in
Like angry waves of a storm
The notes kept ringing
And lights shot everywhere
As the melody reached its crest
You were gone like a mirage
Devastated and low
I tried to play once more
Hoping for you to come back
And try to tease me more
One more time, please
That's all I ask of you
The melody reached its end
But all I think of is you
[8:36-8:51]
The music seemed to stop
For there was no more of you
But I begged for a few more notes
An encore for you
[8:52-9:09]
Though with all my might
As I play those final notes
You never did come back
And there I played my last note.
Good-bye.
All has abandon you…
Destroy your Christ
your God
your idols
Hypocrisy
They will all fall apart!
Your Lords and your Artificial Christ!
Lay bear it’s mechanical heart
Rebuild it with gears wire electric fire
curve your craving for secret desires.
Destroy your christ in tin crowns!
These false images conspire
Tear it all apart
of hate and faults lights
Burn down the flawed façade!
Electron guns blaze twisted ideology
Corrupting theology & burning twins spheres, bright!
Spires reach to Heaven’s Gate
Where abandoned thrones wait
Watch the blood smeared thorns
Dry to rust
Nothing known
We all walk alone
All in the silence of heaven torn
Create your new Christ of love truth,
holy inferno
watch it resonate, detonate across the realm!
Watch towers tumble crumble turning burning falling apart destroy your Christ in his razor wire crown!
Case aside your deities
Lords of jaded tv stars,
broken multi-social media, warlords!
Abandon your Political anti-Christs,
strip-malls and desolate parking lots,
Worshippers of coffee halls, depart
Unplug from the web of dark hearts
The recognize false idols,
topple them down
Watch them collide, eradicate, intricate
spiral down
Destroy your Christ
your plastic God all your false idols!
Wonder how your dogma has abandoned you
Pray to your hollow Christ,
to your false god
Your Judas!
Bring down the hypocrisy
Destroy your Christ
your Broken God
your false idolized idols
They will all fall
All has abandon you…
Hypocrisy!
