Andy the Handyman
Andy was cleverly skilled at his art he built mechanical things part by part Andy worked all the time couldn’t stop it but the wife would blast off like a rocket. He couldn’t understand the dramatics when he built a carriage in the garage The wife said it was a bloomin’ disgrace she didn’t want it taking up the space. His carriage was left there to rot and rust the poor thing never even got a dust Andy thought he’d have to leave it to trust that someone, somewhere may think it a must. Andy’s wife left long before the carriage said she’d had just enough of the marriage Was Andy pleased, did he really care she had just answered his secret prayer. The wife never gave him a moment’s peace was always getting under Andy’s feet Now Andy enjoys life living his dream constructing a super flying machine.

Well depicted portrait of Andy, Belle. They will soon find peace apart from each other.

made me think of those magnificent men in their flying machines ... and i know from my own life that marriage is full of give and take and giving space to your partner to fulfill their dreams no matter how wacky the one in your poem is lol:-) hugs Jan xx

Hello Belle ... it seems the wheels fell off the marriage and were used on the carriage. As long as they are both happy now - thanks Belle - Lindsay

Good for Andy. I always had my husband encourage me to create , but I also allowed him to as well. Great flow, and rhyme in your verse, Belle.

It’s been the same for me and my hubby too, he’s a super cook. This poem was inspired by a neighbour that I help out with shopping and anything she’s in need of as she is partially sighted and doesn’t get about very well. She’s not a poet but loves to read mine, I went in one day this week and she'd came up with two verses, I altered it to suit and finished the poem, she loves it. She has done it again and the full poem will be posted soon. Thank you Eve…Belle
