When soft zephyrs are stirring arbor leaves
Words may be overheard whispered from trees.
Leaned against a trunk, my ears on alert,
This ranger heard soft words from a filbert.

A long-limbed water oak, leaning half bent,
Wryly some cross-cultural humor lent:
“An ancient Sawtooth oak nearby is king
His wide girth makes him The Lord of the Rings.”

Wanda the willow was awash in woes,
Dripping with languid leaves down to her toes,
Wondering if she would live some morrow
With strong upright arms as a saguaro.

A stately stout chestnut amidst the grove
Is the President tree where children rove.
One, draped on a limb, attention to gain
Fell; our President said, “I feel your pain!”

A gnarly bald cypress with knobby knees
Said, "When I tumble down, promise me please
My fallen large trunk you will boldly seize
And shape it a ship's bow to sail the seas."

A maudlin Mulberry preached and raved
Saying, “A fallen log cannot be saved.”
Yet Salty dogs yelled, “Shiver me timbers!”
On caravels of north wood, once limber.

An adjacent Scotch pine needled me too,
“Pine nuts are better than ice cream for you.”
Feeling that his advice was out of bounds
I arose to resume my forest rounds.

The Centre of Life

That we love is unquestioned, not a point of controversy,
Our marital or partnership ring is personal and never mandatorily issued;
Youth lets us find it in order to keep and hand it on a generation,
As it symbolises our joy, contentment and exhilaration.

When we are lonely or selfish in our relationship with the other,
The ring on our finger inspires with platitudes which save,
From ourselves or society’s fashionable, glamorous glaze,
To treasure the person that we love, until we are for them brave.

When Bilbo embarked on the journey to retake his land,
He found a ring which he felt so personally attracted to,
And so kept it for the use, meaning and magic that did from it emanate,
‘Cos its semiology was his cosmology as its sign was life immaculate.

But when he approached his land, a dragon claimed it so,
Which made Bilbo consider his strategy and individuality,
And when he actioned the ring, strength was his reality:
He only had to think about or touch it, and so upheld it in supremacy.

Our symbol of the ring for love alludes to a greater ring,
A friendship ring to admire and like, and maybe to suggest and fight;
If someone’s land is his or hers, and is not, it means evil lurks,
So Bilbo invigorated love’s power to kill and vanquish this night.

Smaug the dragon held evil and torment in his breath,
Fiery and without request of light, gumption or relationship;
Bilbo even calls himself a bulgier of its world of hardship,
Slavery, murder and creatures of all-consuming darkness.

The physical ring only facilitates the person to aspire,
But in Bilbo’s time it was in danger of falling into the wrong hands,
So Bilbo allowed Smaug’s hell-pit to thus consume the golden circlet,
Such that all that was left was those who accept love’s commands.

That killed Smaug and the origin of sin and immorality,
‘Cos to posses the ring is not to necessarily to honour it,
So when Bilbo returned home from his adventure,
His life continued on in his nephew’s by his conjecture.

Premium Member Not Sp-Here-Ing the Truth

Our earth rotates with a wobbly spin.. could that be
Indicative of the presence of sin? Not perfect yet living
Maybe that's so.? yet here's another truth many won't know'
A ball of Release was created and run where the sun
Starts to shine, while in the earth's north; there is none'
Reports from dead media, deny it was done.?
Yet I saw so many all enjoying their fun, it was titled
For freedom though to close it some tried,
For to smile is now frowned on; and no singing inside.'
Like the scouring of 'the shire' in the Lord of the rings
How could it happen? In tightening things.?
Fear was It's trigger; as deadly claims just grew bigger
In their 70 and 80s people's actions escape me.!
They'll do the mask-task, but ever do they ask?
How they lived to this good age.? Were their mothers
So.. Unsage.? I'm sure they would cry if all this came
To their eyes.' This insult to good reason cap's
The silliest of seasons.!

Literary Cannons for Renowned Quills
Like J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Lord of the Rings
Austen's Prose to Whitman's Free Verse
Don't forget Shakespeare, and William Wordsworth,

"Who'll be the better, the student or the teacher?"
"One digs a hole now, while the other digs later!"

The Word of God was written by those who were inspired by Him.
The laws of the people were written by the people to govern o'er the people.
The names above are well-established in the field of writing, however, none of them had the bible up for bat:

Shakespeare had confidantes/collaborators
Austen had daddy-dearest, title, and awe
Tolkien was a philologist/one who loved backtracking
Witman was a transcendentalist
Wordsworth was a romanticist
[batting practice is over]

Cannonism did inspire.
It set the world on a spiritual fire.
The Holy Ghost came back down.
As fifty days have expired.
We countdown from the day of Easter,
Fifty days have now gone past,
Fifty days since the resurrection,
Fifty days with Christ at last,
Fifty days since Christ arose,
Fifty days with the Holy Ghost,

Dove of the Sun
Dove from above
Dove of God's love.

The Snitch and the Seeker

The qolden snitch is lost in the air
A lost, that no one ever could bear

The seekers are out on rides of Sauron
They look furious and won't move-on

A storm is certain, the clouds are howeing
The flakes turn blizzard, the lightning roaring

Hey, where is the snitch ___ where did it go?
How come the seekers couldn't get to know?

Far from the world, up in a valley
A Potter is out on the quest already

The Chrysalis gives him the Phoenix wings
And here he goes up in the winds

Those wings have the key to break away
The curse They cause once on the bay

He has to find it before they do
She is trying hard, she knows it too

A swish in the air, a snitch being chased
He dives in, take the leads in haste

A battle erupts, the storm getting violent
But he catches the snitch and passes like lightning

In a hidden cave he open his hand
Flap his wings and cover snitch's face

Thunders striking, winds whipping, trees cracking
Something new is nearly unwrapping

A boom.. And the transformation completes
There now lays a pretty lady whom he greets

The curse is gone
It's now a never ending dawn

For she is a snitch... a charmer
For he a seeker and a keeper

First beams of sun touches their skin
As they fly high in sky and Wind plays violin

Premium Member Reading In Bed

Parody of Crocodile Rock/an Elton John/Bernie Taupin song
(some of the lines may seem strange, but I truly tried to imitate the exact syllable
count of the song Crocodile rock, and in some lines you have to sing the words
extra fast!)

Reading in Bed

Long ago before VCR,
The internet and DVR,
I’d hang out with family
‘cause there were only four stations on the TV.
With my records playing, I would get
A little crazy dancing; then in my bed
While my sisters played, I lay and fed my head.
I was cozy with my nose-y in a book, in my bed.

Chorus:
While in my bed reading, I sure was feeding
my small head with fantasy!
And when my Mama called out for me,
in my bed is where I would be!
Oh, how I just loved my Stephen King,
romance novels, Lord of the Rings.. ..
Yeah, that reading in bed was a cool thing!
Wow ow ow ow ow ow ow ow ow ow ow ow ow ow ow

Well, the years have flown , and now I’m all grown
but I hardly know how to work my cell phone.
All night commenting to friends on the net.
Reading their poems is all the reading I get!
I’m so busy, by midnight I’m dead.
Can’t imagine my reading in bed.
It’s a cure same as counting sheep.
‘Cause now when I try it, I just fall to sleep!
Chorus

(Repeat first stanza and Chorus one last time!)

The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings

12/22/14

Props to the original Baggins
And his bravery towards the dragons
While he could've stayed behind with the wagons

Just a hobbit and quite the comic
But he should've watched it
And use all logic
Before trying to put on the ring inside of his pocket
Because another was unfortunate and lost it

This made him scathing mad
As he continued aging and
Inside a cave in the hills, far away from any raging sands

Originally had a name
But overtime he had changed
And was no longer the same

They didn't know what else to call him
Except for Gollum
Because he had fallen
And became solemn

Meanwhile the orcs
Marched with force
After coming into contact with the source
Of all evil from the North

The bell continued to toll
As the trolls
Looked to take all souls
With a heart darker than coal

During the events
The mist was dense
And full of suspense
But the ents that were immense
Put in their sense
And helped their allies get across the fence

Here we go again
Around the bend
It didn't end
In the eyes of children, ladies and men
Who could be considered a trusted friend?

Christopher Lee

Something terrible has happened to the entire world, we've lost Christopher Lee.
He was Count Dracula and he was also Saruman in The Lord of the Rings trilogy.
He starred as Francisco Scaramanga in a James Bond film and as Lord Summerisle in The Wicker Man.
He believed that his greatest performance was as Mohammad Ali Jinnah, the founder of modern Pakistan.

He starred in two Star Wars movies as Count Dooku.
He was a talented actor, a singer and an author too.
Sadly, this fantastic thespian has died at the age of ninety-three.
People are shedding tears as we say goodbye to Christopher Lee.

(Dedicated to Christopher Lee who died on June 7, 2015.)

Sunshine shard in the hard Night

Dastardly dreams.. bastardly schemes loom

Hark the starkness of darkness does consume

Well let’s get to the bull elephant in the room

Suffocated by the toxic fume of oligarch doom

Hounded & surrounded by the ghoulish gloom

Bombs zoom go boom mushroom clouds bloom

Don’t be Othellos tame the flame from their bellows

Sunshine and night in your head are old bedfellows

Fight for light respite from our plight blight mellows

A place of grace rhapsody of double bass and cellos

Simple ploy take joy in the coy little things life brings

Means stuff stings hug tiny treasures like spring sings

Verdant valleys measures tallies with Lord of the Rings

Mother nature’s pleasures at leisure all Queens & Kings

Serene sanctuary of what ifs and riffs of sliding doors

Don’t be pernickety or finickety believe in serendipity

Take detours explore more and floor our many flaws

When life gets gritty it’s not about having a cash kitty

Creed to heed can indeed feed on witty repartee & ditty

Go on show pity & plead you don’t need to be so shi**y

Askew I say coo and woo not just be true to thine self

Hear qu*er sneaky devil whine or revel of a cheeky elf

Like a fine wine just heave and then leave on the shelf

Knew you are the clue to accrue your own grown wealth

Find that the best quest and test for your mental health

Stars aligned unwind and your mind is well kind to itself
