In flux and flow
time is a river that calls
and I a ripple
upon its rapids and falls.
By God begun
I will follow its end until
my river is run
and the waters are still
in the circle sun.
Time and space
and gravitational waves
wash over me
beside its portal graves.
But I am carbon
in temporal and atomic
flesh and skin
and swirling biocosmic
dust in the wind.
God of arc and line
lies beneath the water’s
circles of time,
but God’s time is spatial
frozen and glacial
and linear is mine.
He is the spirit
and light in the mire,
He is the flood
and earth, wind and fire.
He is the spark
and my eternal flame,
He is the Omni,
God of infinity
and knows me by name.
God of arc and line
lies beneath the water’s
circles of time,
but God’s time is spatial
frozen and glacial
and linear is mine.

Mostly shy, a little exciting
Heart on fire, alive
Inviting the wonder, the beauty
The soothing of a tenderness
Who breathes hope into the night,
Inspires the moon to shine,
Shimmering in stardust glitter,
Erasing the worry, the fear
Every darkness, every sorrow
With love, silent – lasting
Through the memories, timeless
Prayers, praise unfolding
Within a spirit who knows
He is the promise, never fading
Always sincere, like the heavens
Making dreams into reality,
Touching hearts with everlasting
Peace, the promise of lasting
Grace, forever faith – love that
Thrives, forever survives
Reflecting the whisper of paradise
Inside the soul who knows
He is alive – He died, but He
Sits at the Father’s side,
Making intercession for every
Soul who knows that He is the One
Who made the stars, the sun –
He is the Son who reflects the joy,
The love that comes from knowing
He is the One who makes me whole,
He is the One who silences my soul,
He is the One who reflects all my hope,
He is the One who I want in control!

Bobby comes home from work to screaming kids and a nagging wife;
Feeling as if he hasn’t had a moment of peace in his entire life.
Jackson comes home from work to a dark and empty house;
Longing to fill the void of it all with offspring and a spouse.
Betty changes a dirty diaper and wipes a running nose;
The last time she pampered herself, only heaven knows.
Janet fixes another meal made especially just for one;
Wondering if her eligible days have all come and gone.
Each of them looks deep inside not liking what they see;
Convinced that everyone else in the world has a better reality.
Bobby watches his kids score a goal and his wife fixes him supper;
The pride he feels and love he shares works like a natural upper.
Jackson relaxes with a good book and listens to his favorite musician;
Comfortable with the freedom to do what he wants without any imposition.
Betty gets a big hug and a kiss from kids who say they love her;
The times she feels happiest is when she is helping out another.
Janet shares time with wonderful friends without any sexual tension;
And feels sorry for those unhappily married whose choices they often question.
Each of them looks deep inside and are happy with their destination;
Some days are good and some days are bad no matter our life situation.
He brushes his teeth
To start each day
Gets the minutiae
Out of the way
Puts on his uniform
Assumes his business face
Makes the short journey
To his workplace.
He’s a professional assassin
Without prejudice or hate
Who carries out his work for
An alert and watchful state
He can kill with precision
But gets no vicarious thrill
When it comes the time to
Use his hard earned skill
Part of a team but really
He works on his own
When the orders come
To launch his Drone.
He’s miles away
Not really there
As he sends death
Down from the air
He takes off his uniform
Re enters civilian life
Settles for the evening
With his children and wife
They say he’s a killer but
It’s really not the same
He’s convinced himself
It’s just a computer game
He keeps that thought
Held firmly in his head
As he cleans his teeth
Before he goes to bed.
Only his wife knows about
The many tortured screams
As he tosses and he turns
Trapped in his nightly dreams
Philosopher, they call me,
Following Pythagoras* of old,
A friend of wisdom it means and
Nothing more.
For years philosophy’s principles
I tried to understand and
For decades her ethics strived
To apply.
Plato, Socrates, Aristotle, Heraclitus
My subjects were,
Thus
Faithfully myself devoted to
Their teaching
With
No great success, on my part,
I confess
However, this was not because of
Lack of trying.
And now,
As life’s end, I discern clearer as days,
Are passing by
To my horror, unfortunately, came to realize
That
Although a loyal FRIEND of WISDOM
I have remained to this very day,
WISDOM herself NEVER thought of me
THE SAME WAY!

*Pythagoras, Greek philosopher c570-c495 BC, after discovering the Pythagorean Theorem, the Greeks gave him the title of " SOFOS" which means WISE as the custom was at the time to call all men of learning. Pythagoras refused the title and called himself " PHILOS TIS SOFIAS " FRIEND OF WISDOM, because he said WISE was only GOD! Since then the title of Philosopher has been used to this day and every man of learning gets his Ph. D. (Philosophy Degree) which means that he accepts the limits of his knowledge since only GOD knows.
Delighted to wish you the best of the rest
of your life, you lovely eighteen-year-old.
Now that you are an adult live it proudly
Whirl and twirl and dance your truth pure and bold.
Go inside your heart with the lightness of cream.
Listen to your whispered memories and your soul’s dream.
Know that no one knows you better than you, and as proof…
Take advice from no one before you consult your mercurial truth
Welcome to your happiest times, from your feelings do not run.
Your forever-after life is here. Enjoy every day. Do something fun.
The gift of at least an hour of pure joy each day can be yours, don’t bend.
This is the key to happiness, if you ask me, my poetic, artistic right-brained friend.
My biography speaks easy gains;
Mind photography in words said plain.
I journey here to sing and dance
To fling fond cheer in tact and chance.
I weave magic in verse and poise
To string antics in voice and choice.
My lifestyle speaks of form and wit;
Heart humours peak that message fits.
I live my best with smiles and tears
To love sure quest as faith frees fear.
I learn to feed each need and urge
To know each seed in feel and surge.
My posture frames a sense I see;
Soul knows the same truth and beauty.
I linger here by eastern shores
To live with cheer that sizzles more.
I tell my tale with reach that tells
A mindful sale that works out well.
My spirit sings inspired thought;
Form comes to be with play and plot.
I am a man who understands
To screen and scan both brand and trend.
I am a soul with body-mind
To love one whole with life I find.
My moments here speak of finesse;
My code I steer with charming zest.
I am a man who lives with joy
To love and plan and embrace ploys.
I am good cheer spiced with grandeur
Right now and here as soul splendour.
My memory reminds fond tact;
Feelings set free pure cause and pact.

As the seasons change,
Spring to summer, on to autumn
With winter closing in, just around the corner
Following close on the hills of a moment
Promising hope to those who know Him
The One who created this November
Whispered light into the sun’s glowing
And breathed joy into the snow’s silence
As the seasons break through
Each reflection of the inspirations
Soothing and beautiful, like grace peeking
Through the soul, inviting the kiss of a moment
A prayer who awakens God’s ear and gentles
The darkness with the shimmer from
Stars who know what it means to stir blessings
In the faded falling of rain showers,
Tender sighs of leaves in hues of amber
And gold – rich mahogany bursting
With the laughter from a heart who knows
His love, His grace… His way
As the seasons stir wonders,
Abiding peace and sweet promises
From the faded expressions of lost dreams
Who keep weighing heavy on the singsong moments
Beckoning through the burning passions,
The lightning fast cravings, amazing
Praising, breathless pleas for His hand
Taking away the doubts, the fears and tears
All the reasons for disillusionment
As the seasons pass – spring to summer,
Summer to fall… autumn to winter…
I can recall the moment when I first knew
The blameless hope that restores my soul
When I can’t seem to even breathe on my own,
When it takes His word, His touch, His love…
To even know the meaning of being sure, assured
Filled with the knowing that He will make a way…
Even when my heart is cold and I can’t feel the love
That I know carries me through each doubt…
And gives me the promise that He is always in control
With Jesus… I know –
The light has shattered the darkness
With a grace that survives every black thought
A love that provides more hope for this world
Than a mind can imagine or a muse can inspire
More … of what is His gift… grows wisdom
Inside the heart who believes, the soul who receives
This love that is alive – in every season, each grief
It is a love that knows and gives generously…
So we’ll never know the meaning of despair or misery
With Jesus…in every season, I know – true peace
It is His peace that brings with it… a reason to be
A reason to believe – a reason to agree…
He is everything I will ever need!
My God knows the way I am,
He knows my every thought.
He knows the things I've said and done,
And seen the dreams I've sought.
He knows my heart for what it is,
Knows each and every mood,
Depending not on what He's heard,
From those who think me crude;
For Man looks on the outer crust,
And sees not what's inside.
He hears but words that oft times twist,
And turn the truth to lies;
But God looks on the heart of Man,
And judges that instead,
Not foolish thoughts or actions,
Words that twist inside the head.
So do not judge your neighbor, Friend,
You don't know what's inside.
You only know the words you've heard,
That play tricks with your mind.
If you truly love your friend,
The way you love yourself,
You'll make the same excuse for him,
That you make for yourself.
"GOD SEES NOT AS MAN SEES, FOR MAN LOOKS AT THE OUTWAARD APPEARANCE, BUT THE LORD LOOKS AT THE HEART."
1Samuel 16:7
"WHERE NO WOOD IS, THERE THE FIRE GOETH OUT;SO WHERE THERE IS NO TALE BEARER THE STRIFE CEASES."
Proverbs 26:20
Her birth was never trumpeted,
Nor caught any media headlines.
Born to Joachim in very ordinary settings,
Virgin Mary, the simplest of the simple,
Was specially chosen to perform a task divine.
As she grew up, she pledged to keep her body and soul,
Free of all blemish and stains of fleshly desires.
But in her teens, she was betrothed to Joseph,
Perhaps, part of a divine plan.
Did dreams come to nab her sleep, no one knows!
She found joy in prayer and absolute surrender to God.
Once when in silent communion with God,
Hearing the flap of wings overhead, she looked up.
Seeing the flash of blinding light in her dim lit room
She stood in dazzled astonishment,
Not knowing what was about to happen.
Before her, appeared a winged seraph.
A radiant silhouette with such gentleness n’ grace
Its hands raised in benediction,
Saluted Mary and said,
“Blessed art thou amongst women…
……………………………………
The rest she heard in a trance.
Unable to digest what was said,
The girl looked up nonplussed.
Again, it said, “The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee,
And a son shall be born of thee,
Whom you shall call Jesus.”
“How can this be”,
The question lingered but didn’t ask.
In that nanosecond of a new revelation
Did Mary’s world shatter like glassware?
Or did her virgin womb thrill with new life?
Did she swim in the waters of joyful tidings?
Or gyrate in the sweeping swirl of tidal waves?
For a girl already espoused to a man
In whose dreams his comely form had begun
Flitting in and out,
Was it a moment of silent ravishment?
Or of stupefied bewilderment
Did a dagger cut through her heart?
Or did her soul take wing in flight???
Without questioning,
She surrendered to the will of God,
Thereafter, never wavered nor bemused,
But readied herself for the great task.
Forever she remains a symbol of mercy and love.
Her immaculate grace is reflected on her radiant face.
Her lovely visage having greater beauty than any flower,
Emits sweet fragrance that perfumes our souls.
Remaining ever so pure with no trace of sin,
She is acclaimed by Christians all over the world,
As a symbol of unassailable purity and godly grace!
