Other People's Freedom, Part I

Autumn though of herself as a kind soul,
and she took great pride in her compassion,
she believed things could be made perfect,
and her voting reflected this fashion.

She was to see that the wealth was shared,
and that people were nice in their words,
since so few out there ever recognized
how what they said could offend and disturb.

If folks would only learn some basic tact
then everything would run more smoothly,
and she was so glad to help elect leaders
who would take a strong stand against ‘hate speech.’

One day she saw on social media
a report about a conspiracy man
who liked to breath fire when he spoke his mind,
so the tech giants all had him banned.

But she didn’t think that much about it,
she’d never liked that fellow anyway,
so she shrugged it off as unimportant,
and mindlessly went about her day.

A month later she saw some new footage
of men’s right activists under attack,
for trying to change the family courts
they were set upon by hoodlums in black.

But Autumn did not care much for their cause,
opposing women was beyond the pale,
why listen to fools who had never been told
that the future ‘belonged to females?’

A year after that a church made the news
when it refused to marry two men,
the pastor tried to explain his reasons,
but ‘Anti-fascists’ just threw rocks at him.

Autumn just shook her head at the scene,
had not the pastor heard of the new laws?
Who was he to claim that he knew the truth?
To exclude folks on the word of his ‘God?’

Three months later, in campaign season,
a brash man roused the crowds with his rants,
said all sorts of things she found horrible,
it was really getting out of hand.

And when the networks block out all his ads,
and refused to cover his rallies,
Autumn felt that peace had been restored,
there were ‘standards’ to democracy.

Then a year later a new judge declared
that ‘hateful words’ were not protected,
Autumn was glad, progress would be made!
She eagerly waited for what lay ahead…

Over the next two years many people
ran afoul of this new ‘moral code,’
it started with fines, then came prison time,
hundreds, then thousands, to the jails did go.

Autumn started to feel a bit uneasy
at all the chaos that it had caused,
but every change came with some trial,
and those people had broken the laws...

CONCLUDES IN PART II.

I met this stranger the other day

I met this stranger the other day....

I met a stranger just the other day,
Wandering the halls,
in a hospital’s way.
My mind was spinning,
feeling so low,
But this kind soul made my troubles go.

Gave me comfort with a heart of gold,
Words like magic,
warmed me from the cold.
Cheered me up,
just bein' kind,
An hour late ‘cause I was cryin’,
lost in my mind.

Kindness can surprise,
catch you unaware,
But let it in,
if their soul’s laid bare.
This stranger helped me in the night,
Their kindness a beacon,
shining bright.

I’m in a happy love,
with feelings so true,
Talkin’ ‘bout my loved ones,
tears just flew.
Their love and support,
my solid ground,
But speakin' of them,
tears came down.

Sometimes you need someone when you're feelin’ low,
A soul to lift you up,
let your spirit glow.
This stranger gave an hour,
showin' they cared,
Listenin' to my story,
knowin' they were there.

No matter the sex,
male or female,
Who cares about labels,
let them prevail.
If they’ve got a good soul,
that's what counts,
Inside is where true worth mounts.

Even bought my book,
'Fate is Inexorable, Fighter Mode',
Such a big heart,
on this heavy road.
Hope we meet again,
not to be estranged,
This stranger’s kindness,
my thoughts rearranged.

So there I was,
jarred back,
feelin' pain,
Stranger came out to the pourin' rain.
Asked if I was okay,
seemed surreal,
I was thinkin' the same,
in a dream so real.

Met this stranger just the other day,
Helped me out,
listened to what I had to say.
I spoke incoherently,
they stayed true,
Hung on every word,
before we said adieu.

Unexpected moments,
caught me off guard,
Hate cryin' in front of folks,
it’s so hard.
In my wheelchair,
feelin' three feet tall,
Talkin’ to a stranger,
emotions did fall.

As we parted ways,
I felt a glow,
A stranger's kindness,
now I know.
In a world so cold,
they brought the heat,
With their big heart,
made me feel complete.

Thank you,
stranger,
for the time you gave,
Your kindness and care,
the way you stayed.
In this life’s journey,
we crossed paths,
Now my heart feels the warmth that lasts.

The Red Dress

On a night that was completely dry,
A cheerful soul was staring at the starless sky.
At her life that was completely dark,
She smiled as though she was a lark.
Wearing a rug like crap,
Was laying on her father’s lap.
What could make her feel the most beloved,
To be with the person she’d always adored.
Although they were hungry , the whole day,
But were contented as they lay on the hay.
With eyes full of love, her arms hugged her father.
It was like heaven to them when they were together.
With her anxious eyes and sugary voice , she said,
“ Dad I want a dress that’s red!”
Knowing how difficult it was to even get a piece of bread,
Started thinking on how to arrange a dress that’s red.
Her father gazed at her moon like face,
‘Hope’ was the only thing he could trace.
Smile on face, held her head resembling a crown,
“Sure! You’ll get it by dawn”.
Next day she was even more happy,
Finally she would throw the dress that was crappy.
But it could not last long,
As they hear the emergency gong.
The father took his angel and ran to a safe place,
Was running the fastest but lost his life’s race.
A bullet went through him as he stood,
Fell on the ground covered in blood.
Seeing her heaven fall apart,
Crackling sound came from her as it broke her heart .
Though she was badly injured,
She fell down because her heaven’s voice can no more be heard.
Again with a face filled with hope,
Shook her father as “ he’s faking” was the only scope.
But it barely moved,
All her hoping theories were disproved .
She cried and laid on his blood filled body,
Hoping that seeing his angel cry will wake up her daddy.
Her body was covered in blood,
She said to the man she always loved,
“It’s dawn ; you kept your promise dad!
I got the dress that is red!”.
With her angelic smile she fell and the time seemed to be frozen,
It felt like this was her dream place that she’d chosen.
Her sweet soul besides the kind soul of her father.
They were smiling like it was heaven ,
And why not , when now they were eternally together.

My Brother

Brother i miss you so dearly
I am sorry you left before i could say goodbye
What a beautiful soul you are
your passing away has left us so empty
My dear brother i am sure god made it
a pinprick because i cried to the lord that you must
not feel pain

I am sorry i was not there to save you
I wish i was with you just to sit by your side
To say a prayer when you lie on the road
Your friends did find your favorite shoes on the other side
Sorry brother for being so young and snatched away

Mum was sick and they called for someone in the
Family to identify your body
As they drove closer to the station
Memories of our childhood hit me so badly
Sitting in the car i lay my head next to the window so that the wind
can dry my tears

As we came closer
My heart pounded with fear
could they have made a mistake
Thoughts of hope flashed in my mind
that you were still alive

As they took me nearer
I saw this body covered with this silver foil
I was frightened brother
i managed to take a peak
And found you brother oh what sadness i felt

You lie still and cold an empty body
Blood dripping from the hole in your head
I found a flower and placed on hole of your injury
I wept like never before
I bent down and kissed your cold lips
And bid your farewell

This is my prayer to you my brother
Dear god look after my brother
Bless him with all your love
Shower abundant grace on him
God you know what a kind soul he was

He was loved by all his friends
His family loved him
God please look after him
As you know his heart was studded with rubies and gold
That was the beauty of his heart filled with kindness
and love

I know you have made a special place for him
Brother i hug through my words
You have left your legacy behind
Of impeccable qualities
One day i will meet you again
In heavens road when
its my time in this temporary world
We blow kisses for you brother
Know we will always treasure
the memories we once shared
Goodbye brother

Face It

Face
two eyes
one nose
two nostrils
cheekbones
lips
so much more

it
Life
you
the hidden agendas
the truth
the lies
the beauty
the ugly

I found myself in a car that was in a ditch
a night of running towards something
wanting it to end and not wanting it to end
what woke me was cold so cold
I found paper towels and stuffed them in my clothes
i saw my face, my hair tangled, the tear streak face with black mascara mixed with eyeshadow.
You last night chased but let me go onto my destruction
at any moment the car could have flew over the cliff, I was so out of it, drunk no, on drugs no, it was my inner child mad as hell, she was lonely, sad, scared, she felt abandon once again. She was stuck in this body with this woman's body who had no idea what or where to go for help. Little Sally was mad as hell she had the wheel so she was going to take the car up to the 152 and drive as fast as hell, she would be in charge, she could let go of the wheel and end it once and for all, she pulled over or someone did and she knocked out. Woke up in a field, little sally no longer in charge she was tired.
Sally woke up to cold and she was hungry had to pee. Sally needed help and needs to get back to her moms where her two toddlers were. So she looks out and sees a barn. I need to call someone, but who? its not like i had a network of friends the only person was my mom. My mom would not be able to help or so I thought. What a mess, the car would need to be towed and fixed. I see a young man and approach him, he speaks little english but i speak little spanish. He offers to take me home no questions asked no judging just a kind soul who help me quietly. What is a name for this type of individual "an Angel"
You I call and you don't say much only just enough so that you can recover the car. end of story, no one mentions this episode again.
Not my Mom, Not my Husband. I'm alone to deal with my inner child/demon.

Face it you are alone....

JUST LET GO
By Leon Enriquez

Life here is a jigsaw puzzle
Each day brings you a new challenge
So we learn to bear with struggle
We tarry and fault-find talent

With each problem we encounter
We twist and turn and then fall prey
Stuck with our own misdemeanours
If we but learn to humbly pray

~~~~~~~~~
True love can bear hurts that now sting
Watch faith and hope heal what pain starts
Learn to let go of hurtful things
Guilt and regret that cuts your heart
So be good and kind and be soft
Do not let hate clip your own wings
Yet fly true and straight to joy’s loft
Where angels move your soul’s pulse strings
~~~~~~~~~

Sing to the dawn for fond blessings
Ask your kind soul to heal your heart
Aim to turn your life page and sing
Dance and feel cleansing love impart

Be true to your humble good heart
Then watch your fine soul rise above
The world’s ills and hurts as you start
For kindness binds true healing love

~~~~~~~~~
Release the jail bird in the cage
Just let go and style a pure smile
Let your sure heart heal your own rage
Then surely live your life worthwhile
As you walk your journey quest here
Be without malice and forgive
Be gracious to echo sincere
Be the hallmark the way you live
~~~~~~~~~

Yes learn and discern to live well
Go beyond sage or fool or clown
To know what your true heart now tells
Transcend rise and fall, up and down

Love is the way to truly live
Be humble and contrite of heart
Be gentle and steadfast to give
To create a life of fine art

~~~~~~~~~
Love bestows a placid mint
Upon your repertoire truly
Psalm and hymn now raise happy tints
As the spirit anchors story
Remember: just let go of pain
As happy moments frame outcomes
Love uplifts you in stress and strain
With grace that miracle now sums
If I Were a Millionaire
If I Were A Millionaire
If I were a millionaire....
There goes the plaintive cry of a popular song..
What a catchy phrase to incite one to dream on...
In the daily grind of making a living we are mostly blind...
Scurrying hither and thither strapped to the coattails of  time....
If I were a millionaire....
Gladly would I sing along the words in that popular song playing in the air...
Heck I can even  modify the lyrics as timely  proof of my personal flair..
For as a millionaire living happily as in a song, there is time for song and dance..
I need not chase after Father Time for other dreamers will perform to my dance...
If I were a millionaire...
Money worries will not cloud my style of living in the sunshine and at the beach...
I can daily sing merrily and dance freely, carefree and unfettered in relief...
I will have countless friends for company and none shall I turn away hastily...
Even  fair weathered friends and their friends can be part of my happy family...
If I were a millionaire...
With my carefree living ways, all songs and dances and frittering time away...
There comes a time when I should stop the live music and take stock some day...
For there is a millionaire, bless his kind soul at 82, who most wisely did demonstrate…
For true and meaningful happiness, spread some wealth and aid the poor desperate…
If I were a millionaire…
My gold and wealth I should rightly share with those in need somewhere, anywhere…
Cut the music, stop the song and dance for urgent help and assistance are sorely needed there…
After all is said and done, even one such as I, must surely pause at the pearly gates at St Peter…
I wonder and I fidget and fret, when the time comes, shall I bypass or shall I be welcomed to enter…
If I were a millionaire….
To the final end, will I still be one through the gates of Heavens or am I cursed  into the depths of Hell…?
A Stanza About a White Lily
Must be a story of a shivering body, with so high a fever!
An agonizing pain, helpless soul, a daydreamer forever!
Let us talk... let us walk together with the common goal of peace
Although freedom of oppressed land is a myth of forgotten bliss.
Should I tell you about those toiling hands of a craftsman, a magical scene?
Though I know, art is intricate and misunderstood, perception seems obscene
Or, should I tell you about the tremendous tale of a boy, simple, brown tone?
Life, there, thriving in colors with all mystic shades, yet, a very unnoticed one.
Pleading to thee, through the silhouette of thy shadowy faith, in turmoil and pain
When will I see the immaculate beauty of that bright horizon, or, will I, ever again?
Omen of a disaster chills me to the bone. Why life so vague, so much out of scope?
Ruins of a shattered glory are everywhere. Yet, you aspire to hold the eternal hope?
If I carry a burden inside, would you be kind enough to terminate the painful load?
A dilemma in a critic's hand, be a rather kind soul to erase the suffering and discord.
My friend, a soothing ray of eyes, an exact cause to rise against all the odds, then and now
Let me wipe my tears, lost the reason to shed so much, let me reach the spirit to fight for thou.
Must be a story of a shivering body, with so high a fever!
An agonizing pain, helpless soul, a daydreamer forever!
Scattered stories of us, like distant islands lying on a vast ocean, in deep blue.
Poetic verses with unfathomable beauty wander there in mysticism, without a clue
You may portray a rare glimpse of an undivided sky, a mirage on a tranquil, blue lake
You may recall a long-forgotten heart for the wishful heartbeat. One, for the other's sake.
Patience, an utter nuisance in the palette, could be the only remedy for a stain
And, after all, life could be a stanza about a white lily, a rare gift through all pain!
Red-Haired Angel
Thinking of you always reminds me of my youth, growing up in our small town
I recall my early teenage years were filled with fond memories of you in our circle of friends
Always polite and kind, and a little bit shy around those you didn't know
Your willingness to always lend a hand
was one of your best qualities
Your physical strength was evident
And your dependability was a given
It was so endearing, how your face went as red as your hair everytime you laughed
And it was next to impossible to hold in a laugh at the sound of your infectious giggle
Oh, how I will miss that giggle
Oh, how so many of us will miss that giggle
Cracking jokes and keeping people in stitches showcased your sense of humour, which was as contagious as your big, jolly grin
Some would vouch that you were mostly quiet in nature, but for those of us that knew you, that usually meant you were up to something!!
Time passed, and the circle of friends changed
Just like that, we became middle-aged adults
To my surprise, once again, you appeared
And I was blessed to learn you occupied the apartment across from the one my aging parents moved into
I began to travel back in time, re-living the memories of our younger days
I looked forward to the chance that I might see you when I visited, and when I did, I very much enjoyed the reunion, Michael!
How reassuring it was for me, to know my Mom & Dad were in great hands if they ever needed anything
That in itself, brought me so much comfort and relief
I hope you know how very much I appreciated everything you did for them
Today, it is for you that I wish comfort
And freedom from all that ailed you
I pray that you are continuing on with your antics, spreading joy and laughter, knowing that you hold a special place in the hearts of those that knew and loved you
May you rest in peace, my friend ??
Premium Member Alexander the Tsar of France
Alexander a Tsar of ideals
A man of heart and noble thought
His mentor, Swiss, Monsieur La Harpe
From childhood, molded to play histories part
He built his armies, to defend his land
His imperial crown and noble lands
Serfs and soldiers, all as one
Napoleons fodder, yet they won
A kind soul, with Christian heart
Ideals inspired by youthful dreams
La Harpes moral guidance did play
Mystical as a musical harp
Onwards in life did this Tsar March
Napoleon was exiled, to an island of defeat
As Cossacks marched along Paris streets
They danced both sides, in freedoms hard won
Josephine and Alex, in the night, dined alone…
The Tsar became Frances golden light
Bringing reforms and Senate into the light
Who would have thought, so long ago
The Tsar of Russia, in Paris did go?
He defended the lands, borders and rights
Giving the Nobility and England a terrible fright
What he feared at home, he endeavored abroad
He was the beginning of visions to be…
Vive la France
La liberté
Peace and Fraternity
Our Holy Alliance
Notes:
The Tsar who defeated Napoleon, written by Marie-Pierre Rey
Where to begin? She did a wonderful job on his biography as well as uncovering original documents in archives, shedding new light on his life.
Yes he marched to Paris
Yes he befriended Josephine the wife of Napoleon, much to the dismay of all.
Yes he endeavored to create a constitutional monarchy
Yes he fought to protect much of Frances borders, feeling that France was a counter weight to the other European powers at the time.
Frédéric-César de La Harpe (born April 6, 1754, Rolle, Vaud, Switzerland — died March 30, 1838, Lausanne, Switzerland) was a Swiss political leader and Vaudois patriot, who played a leading role in the creation of the Helvetic Republic. Was the tutor of Alexander the 1st, and played many would say a key role on the future Tsars actions during his lifetime
