When Summer Is Gone
In twilight's early shadows, when summer has passed A wandering lost soul whose heart has strayed A soul adrift upon an autumn night Longing for love's warmth and to bathe in a deeper ecstasy Eyes once strong now weakened with age, blinded by tears Longing to be free In this autumnal time when some freedoms reign How wonderful it would feel to be free from all earthly pain Needing a connection and loving hands A kind soul to guide through the rest of this troubled land Just a few kind words and a gentle touch Would help this autumn to heal a heart Love a well-known awesome balm, would heal emotions, and Chase those shadows which tear us apart At summer's end when those dark, dark nights Appear upon the scene chasing my sad heart Let me find solace and a loving soul Who understands summer is gone Then winter will come, and we'll be alone The passage will open to carry us back home
