Blue sweetly Jack frosted fingers
bite down deep inside trembles
Grasping claws on frozen air
each touch gently breathing
out a cloud of the softest
Silken satin holding you
In each and every single breath
A soul kissing beauty in song sings
I go weak at the knees in honor
flying dreams dancing with the spirits
Together we have found Heaven
Just in that one kiss honey
I will rock you forever gently
always holding you sweetheart close
embracing the heart within
these open arms smiling dew
falling love frozen precious pearls

Dragon Days

The stables stretch gloomily yawningly empty
Carefully cleaned and tended each single day,
As they have timelessly been, keeping pledge
Ever since the Royal Dragons had flown away
Through that gaping rift suddenly riven in the sky.
Black at its centre then shading slowly off to greys
Hovering there menacingly yet doing no harm
The ancients said it was foretold in earlier days
Announcing an end to one realm of time
As the sacred prophecies solemnly said
For all things must pass as it is written
A new order comes to be in its stead.
The squadrons had circled in final salute
Climbed fast and sure in that dark sky
Purposely and steadfastly heading for
That sinister revolving coal black eye.
Without a pause they entered and were gone,
That maelstrom replaced by much missed sun.
Birds started singing in the gentle light.
No doubt folk felt a new order had begun.
And so it has been for many years past,
The world moved on nearly as before
Nothing seemed to change
Except dragons were no more.
Returned to their own kingdom
To their own fabled land
From where in exile they had
Long been banned,
Until the punishment purged,
So the story is told
They returned to their glory
And kingdoms as of old.
The stables are almost forgotten, hidden,
And dragons are become stuff of legend.
But, the stalls are still waiting clean
In case there is written an alternate end
For the big Fire Lizards
To return and fly
Once more gracing
Earth’s blue sky
Returning to that forlorn place
An almost ethereal state of grace.

Huh?

Before today, I’ve never questioned
The things we’d say to each other
We were just laughing, as we always do
Our friends say neither of us have a clue

About what? About who?
I’m not stupid, maybe clueless
Actually now that I’m looking
You don’t look half bad.
Wait-

Huh?
I never wanna walk away, I find it so very puzzling, this dance around each other seems never ending, signals that.. I’m sending?
Huh?
How could I not have noticed, how much I pay attention, seemingly unseen tension, how could I have been so blind, all this time
Huh?

I swear it wasn’t on purpose
The way the skies opened up just now, around you
I’ve never learned this, lesson on what to do

Seen it in the movies, and hoped for it truly
Suppose I never excpected it could happen to me one day

Huh?
I never wanna walk away, I find it so very puzzling, this dance around each other seems never ending, signals I’m sending
Huh?
How could I not have noticed, how much I pay attention, seemingly unseen tension, how could I have been so blind, all this time
Huh?

All this time, was it a lie to myself
In denial, deep deep down
I feel like a clown, for not realizing it sooner
Somehow I always thought that you’d choose her
Never even put myself in that equation
Now it’s flying out like a magician with his dove
Could it really be love….

Huh?
I never wanna walk away, I find it so very puzzling, this dance around each other seems never ending, signals I’m sending
Huh?
How could I not have noticed, how much I pay attention, seemingly unseen tension, how could I have been so blind, this time
Huh?

Premium Member The Old Victorian House

I dreamt about an old Victorian house that was abandoned
It was dilapidated and left vacant for years and was starting to decay
It was hidden down a long dirt driveway aligned with overgrown lilac trees
The grounds were overgrown grass that resembled a field of wildflowers
I decided to look inside, the front door was unlocked, and I let myself in
I entered a beautiful parlor with floor to ceiling bookcases and wingback chairs
Sticking out was a rare Charles Dicken's book, I took it and sat in a chair to read
I fell asleep until I awakened in my bed as I noticed the rare book in my hand

Where did the book come from, was I really in that old Victorian house?

Premium Member Releasing My Hatred

My purse got stolen from my car.
It had six or seven pieces of my favorite jewelry in it.
I kept lamenting about it, angry too about the money.
I had taken six hundred dollars to my daughter’s home.
To purchase a crib, but she decided on another one, online.
So, my six hundred dollars was gone too.

I was angry; I could not stop thinking about it.
My favorite diamond infinity ring was in that purse.
For seven weeks hatred came into my heart.
Hatred toward the unknown perpetrator.
Anger that I had lost my favorite ring.
One day I asked God to let me know that someone else loved my ring.
I said “God, if they love it half as much as I did, I will let this go.”

A week later I received a letter from a sheriff in another state.
He said he had my billfold and purse. I had left it with my cane in a McDonald’s.
There was twenty dollars in my purse. Would I want him to send it to me?
He would use the money. I called him and said yes.
I knew why the perp could not go back and claim my purse.
They had left my billfold inside.
I got my infinity ring back.
It was the only piece of jewelry back.

Resolution

Resolution…

Another cliché ridden promise to be broken
One more silent thought; the words remain unspoken
But still I make another resolution
More to myself than any other…another resolution
To be kept or to be broken
Another promise left unspoken…resolution

The time is right the time is now
Sixty minutes left to change
This time of night feeling so run down
And unable to re-arrange that feeling
I’ve counted my blessings
Washed misfortunes blood from my hands
Repented for all of my sins
Bowed to my knees a mortal man

…Another cliché ridden promise to be broken
One more silent thought; the words remain unspoken
But still I make another resolution
To be kept or to be broken
Another promise left unspoken…resolution

Twelve Thirty-One of Twenty Twelve
I am counting down the hours
Ten past Five, then Five past Ten
And then Eleven bells will ring…
But I can’t make it to the midnight hour
Can’t ring in the fresh New Year
Can’t live down the daily stresses
And conquer the things I fear
And as the clock at once strikes midnight
I hear the tolling of the bell
But my eyes remain unopened
As I try to break the spell

I give up that which breaks me
I have to clear my head and heart
Find a new direction and let it take me
Before the past tears me apart
Another year has came and went
In recent memory, one of the worst
Again, as mortal man I must repent
Pay the cost for those I’ve cursed

…Another cliché ridden promise to be broken
One more silent thought, the words remain unspoken
But still I make another resolution
To be kept or to be broken
Another promise left unspoken…resolution
Close my eyes and make a wish
As the lights all fade to black…
And in that silence the truth is born…my resolution

Glo

Written September 11, 2013

Well I was just a boy
Living down in San Fransisco
In the city by the bay
And I wanted more from life
Than my childhood could give
Every time I crossed a bridge
The whole town burned to the ground

And then one day
I met you down by the blood bank
In that sketchy part of town
Where the hipsters turn around
And drugs roam free
Just like you and just like me
Just like how we used to be

You are my archangel
You sing to me, Gabriel
You tell me where to find
The gravel on the street
And you hold me to the ground
When I hear Peter call for me
And the lights rush to the scene

As I lie here in the alley
Sweet dreams of crystal valleys
Waltz deep within my mind
As the canvas fades to black
And the vultures sweep below
Much like falling dominoes
Set in motion by the glo

A Night Like No Other

He came as a babe in a manger,
left His Throne and His Glory above,
To bring us His grace and salvation
and show us the meaning of love

And the angels, they wept, for they knew of the things as a Man upon Earth He must face.
Of the trials, temptations and the meanness of men, just to bring them salvation and grace

They had only a stall in a stable to spare,
for there was no more room in the Inn,
So our precious baby Jesus was born in the straw,
for our King, what a way to begin

On a night like no other, it was dark, but bright light, from a star in the sky shown down
on the place in the straw where the baby was lain,
as if lighting the way to be found.

And the animals drew close to protect and give warmth to this baby so helpless and small,
as if they knew He was special,
He was born for great things,
and someday would save us all

And although they were sad, the Angels, they sang, Glory to God in the Highest.
For they knew who He was, who He was born to be, then that night became still and silent.

And the angles they spoke to the shepherd’s near by and told them to not be afraid,
for we bring you good tidings and Wonderful News,
the shepherds fell on their knees and prayed.

Then they followed that star to the stable,
where the angel had said he would be.
When they looked on this baby,
they bowed down in awe,
for they knew they were seeing their King

Then the wisemen they came from far distant lands
and they carried their gifts of great worth.
And they bowed down and worshiped this tiny King, whom they’d awaited so long for his birth

Yes He came as a babe in a manger,
walked this earth as a teacher and friend,
gave sight to the blind healed the sick and the lame, gave hope to the hopeless and then....

As the angels stood ready to come to His aid,
one word and they’d rescue this King.
He died on a Hill on a Cross all alone,
Love, life and mercy to bring.

And that gift that He brought on that night long ago
as He laid in that manger of hay,
is still offered to all just as it was then,
won’t you call on His name today

Yes wise men still seek Him
and Angels still sing.
And all of creation points the way to our King

My Bag and Me

I brought everything in a bag.
Feeling my arms sag.
In that place, they gave us blankets.
In that place, they gave us regrets.
But all those memories are for another time.
I packed it all up, leaving the walls I would climb.
I used that bag year after year.
I used it to pack gym gear.
I used it on my vacation.
That bag followed me to each destination.
But some days, I wonder if this bag,
Which is beginning to sag.
Is haunted by that place, as much as me.
When the bag was new, and I was 23.
The bag got old and worn.
I became torn.
I almost threw it into the trash.
But then I sensed that it could be rash.
Instead, I decided it simply needed cleaning.
For years, I never found meaning,
In this bag.
We are both beginning to sag.
But inside a hidden pocket, is a note.
“How To Save The World,” I wrote.
Maybe, I could become a hero someday…
My bag starts to sway.
My bag starts to say-
“They might once again lock us away.
But if we work in secret, we’ll save the world by Sunday.”

Our Oak

OUR OAK

I shall always think of it as our oak;
Yours and mine.
Majestic in that green haven from urban cacophony,
It sheltered us in those precious moments:
Discreetly deaf to our small talk,
Obligingly blind to the fool I was making of myself.
Did I babble?
Memory has erased my every word.
Yet yours are indelible;
Every word, every inflection, every lilt
Oh, that lilt, invading my sleepless nights.
Did you feel it…the chemistry?
Have you any idea what happens to your eyes when you laugh?
Every cliché by every poet throughout the ages
Bubbles up from a sea of startling, sparkling blue
You laughed
And a thousand Sunday steeples burst into song.
You laughed
And I knew I would love you to the grave.

And then the rain stopped and I lost you forever.
I stood, rooted to the spot as you walked away.
The sun struggled through a threadbare patch in the cloud
To light up your hair for a last, fleeting second
And you were gone.
How could I let you go with so much unsaid
So many questions?
The rain stopped….and I hadn’t even asked your name.
