To the unknown sports car driver
Who caused us so much fright
May the roads be full of traffic
When you attempt to turn right.
May you spend many hours
Constantly being stuck
Behind a series of slow moving
Wide loaded trucks
May all the traffic lights
Be stuck at stop
And no comfort stations
When you need a pit stop.
May there be many road works
On your every single trip
May every pair of your trousers
Develop a jammed fly zip
May your ears fill with wax
May your sinuses explode
Any non lethal condition
That keeps you off the road.
May your testosterone levels
Very quickly plummet and drop
And all your sexual urges
Come to an abrupt stop
The way that you drive
The last thing we need
Is for you to be able
To continue to breed.
I may just be a little biased
Mr Dangerous Road Hog
But i feel you should be
Treated like a rabid dog.
If you live the rest your life
The same way that you drive
It would probably be better
If you really weren’t alive.
2,000 Miles Away
Sooner than expected, my dear mother died at the age of 70 in 1998; and I, the distant one, was 2000 miles away.
My oldest sister died after an auto accident at the age of 55 in 1999; and I? 2000 miles away.
In 2003, an older brother died before I could arrive;
he was 56, and I was 2000 miles away. A younger sister died suddenly, also in 2003; she was only 46: and I? Again, 2000 miles away.
Another younger sister died in the Fall of 2012; she was 56, and I was 2000 miles away.
My oldest brother was 79 when he died in 2013:
And I was 2000 miles away.
Never distant in my mind, but far away for a long time
All of my family lives in the Midwest and South; and I reside way out West, 2000 miles away.
Many years before, I had chosen to move and ‘go west young man’, 2000 miles away.
I learned sadly, that when illness or tragedy strikes
a loved one, it’s not good to be 2000 miles away.
For 38 years, I have been the distant one in my family. I have endured the pain of separation and often wanted to make a change from being 2000 miles away.
In the last days and hours of their lives, I was never there to walk with them, to talk, to kiss, to hold, or to touch; nor even to say, “Goodbye”.
No. I could only board a plane, and cry, simply because I was far away, over 2000 miles.

Cooking for your mate,
Goes Back to the caveman,
And ,yester-year.
Firstly, it must have delighted
The eyes, then mouth watered
The mind and finally settled
In an already over full tummy,
How yummy.
For over as far back as humanity
Goes, learning has traversed
An awesome culinary journey.
Cooking a meal for the love of your life,
Has brought a cauldron of pure inspiration,
To your kitchen, in which many hours
Of pure stimulation,
Will help to produce a meal of sophistication,
Containing pure aphrodisiac powers.
Preparing for your handsome beaut,
Or just thinking of the herbs, the spices and fruit,
The basil, pansies geraniums, added to the meal,
The over-powering aroma of your lamb roasting
In the clay oven, smothered with organ-um,
Course salt, a mixed pepper blend, rosemary, and
Squeezed lemons from your garden, finally,
A generous splash of rich, red wine.
All of this preparation has intoxicated you
In anticipation of tonight’s dine.
The grapevines dangling from above,
Everything perfection for your love,
Dinner in your pretty, pot-filled courtyard ,
Fairy lights everywhere, you’ve worked so hard.
The air full of expectancy,
And weighted with
A certain anxiety.
Temptation, being your cue,
Excitement and tummy butterflies grew.
Of course, magic had to be an ingredient,
For you are Greek and wise,
And looked up a gypsy’s advice,
The time just flew,
Whilst you whipped up an exotic brew.
Romance is the order for tonight,
To set his palette and heart alight.
The doorbell rings,
You let your hair loose
And untie your apron strings.
Into a vase I placed twelve roses;
I watered them with my love;
I chased away for at least awhile
The pain that kept her from smiling.
Upon the mantle of her heart
The roses bloomed with warmth
To start then faded into memory.
As we talked our friendship grew
The hours became far too few.
We placed aside the ordinary;
We traveled to distant shores;
We tasted Europe’s finest foods
And drank from vintage stores
Of wine and scenic interludes.
Each day hence I felt her less
Her mind was slipping into rest.
There were days, though few
When we again walked anew
Where joys of life were brought
To mind, where life seemed so sublime,
Far from the grasp of time.
Then one day she told me plain
That Jesus would her soul sustain,
That I not worry about that day
For which she often prayed.
Into a vase I placed twelve roses;
I watered them with my love;
I chased away for at least awhile
The pain that kept her from smiling.
"Another 150 Illinoisans have lost their lives in the last 24 hours
May each of their memories be for a blessing
2,240 residents have tested positive for the virus
Another 365 new hospitalizations were recorded
730 people are on ventilators...
"These are real people, who have and had real lives
So, the virus is out there. It is among us
Stay inside your homes. Please!
Only go out for essential trips...
"Make sure to wash your hands thoroughly
for at least 30 seconds, with soap
whenever you touch exposed skin or a foreign object
Multiple hand-washing is the message here...
"And wearing a mask at all times out-of-doors
is key in mitigating the virus
I just can't stress that enough
Don't forget social distancing either
Stay at least six feet away from the person
with whom you are interacting...
"I'm the last person in the world who wants these restrictions
I'd like to open up the state as much as you would
Yet the the statistics don't lie. And though
we're flattening the curve
the virus is still out there
It is among us..."
I could give the daily speech by heart myself
Thank you, Governor Pritzker, for spooking me
and so many other law-abiding Illinoisans who have
been foolish enough to buy into your extended lockdown
For which you had no legal authority, whatsoever --
Bully!
And which, by the way, didn't apply to your family
Your wife and kids hopped on a plane and flew to Florida
to your tawny vacation home ---
Stay at home, my foot! ---
Hypocrite!
I hate going outside with my mask and gloves
I hate going shopping or to the pharmacy
I hate going for a walk in the park
It's all on you, Mr. Pritzker
May you reap
What you've sown...
And after the next election
May your memory be for a blessing
1000 miles per hour scientists have calculated the Earth’s rotation
And 25000 miles in 24 hours according to their quotation
They say it is the distance from the sun qualifies their concession
But it is the facts that they failed to mention
The fact in the matter is, it is not gravity, the sun or the moon
So I thought I will break it down so you can see the big picture soon
And those scientific theories are fallible and can be popped like a balloon
Then you can stop watching the Discovery channel and watch a Disney cartoon
In order to deliver the facts I will change from monorhyme
This will give you the information in digestible nuggets in time
Here we go:
Fact: we know that love makes the world go round
Just enough to stop you flying off the ground
According to my calculations, there are 380000 people making love every second
Wait a minute, just in case I am beckoned
22800000 in a minute, 1368000000 in an hour and 32832000000 in a day.
That’s a lot of people indulging in naughty play
Therefore each person generates 3045808967 gigawatts of negative energy
Calculate it yourself and if I’m wrong I’ll change my name to Cenergy.
The negative energy is what repels us from the sun
This is not generated from the up and down of underwear of everyone
If we quit the Earth will stop spinning
And this may mean we’ll come out winning
For we won’t die or age in years
We’ll never be made redundant due to someone younger taking our careers
You can borrow money and go in debt
And never pay it off if you take it over a year I guarantee the bet.
For if we stop love, time will stand still
And to get it moving again would need the love pill
So from me and Captain Morgan, we say good night
Tomorrow how the earth got it’s crust we will write.
So say good night to this drunken plumber
And by the way, if we stop the sun will suck us in and that’s a bummer
Good night
The sun's smiling unto us that morn.
A fairly weather for a summer vacation.
I grab the picnic basket and all stuffs.
The children were all ready for ar day out.
In the middle of road, we start to play.
My pretty young ladies couldn't hide a thrill.
We sing altogether, while teasing on each other.
Next is a laudest laugh without a means.
We reached the place where all fun was held.
In the middle of land where my innocence was built.
The field seems so old, yet nothing's ever changed.
Lies all the memories I shared them while we eat.
We lay down the grass and look up the sky.
And begin our imagination to run wild.
They say that the prince and princess dancing in the clouds.
The other one keeps telling, angels are flying high.
Those happy hours we spent together,
Left a place to my heart, forever i'll remember.
No words can describe for a joy it can bring.
To a mother who only wants the best for her children.
How could it be?
In the city,
All I could see,
Was people and vehicles,
One after another.
Follow each other's.
In the rush hours.
How could it be?
In the forest,
Water flowed in the creek,
Calmly and rhymthly. Then suddenly,
It tumbled down quickly and heavily.
Formed a beautiful water fall,
Caused by gravity.
Still water runs deep.
How could it be?
Along the George Bass Coast trail,
The sun hanged high in the sky,
Then for a while,
All the shadows played seek and hide.
They seemed to disappear
Forming clear paths.
The effect of the overcast.
How could it be?
Everything I held close and dear,
One by one, they seemed to disappear.
Where have they all gone?
What have I done wrong?
Come back to me, please.
I loved you all my dear.
In the twilight~~~~ of reality and make believe~~~
There where dreams hover
on the wings of Night
And stillness belies the passage of honored TIME
There, there in the palm of Eternity
we meet
We meet in this haven of Tranquility’s b*r*e*a*t*h
Perfumed by Love’s signature serene scent
These two lovers meticulously bind our naked souls
with surreal and real bonds of floral fantasy fusion
until...yes...bound until...
we are one and the universe is undone
In the fluid mixture of homogenous
E C S T A C Y
....and....
d^a^z^z^l^i^n^g
L I G H T
In the twilight~~~ of reality and make believe~~~~
In absence of formulated thought or lived out dream
In the nothingness of truth and the perfection of harmony
We lie, you and I…..
and the moments, the hours, the days, the years and yes….eternity
Simply….pass us by….
We lie
We sigh
We die
You and I
One
In the twilight
OF REALITY~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~AND MAKE BELIEVE

Today’s Briana’s birthday
So we celebrated large.
Her boyfriend and his mother,
For this epic day, took charge.
We hadn’t met in person
For some fifteen months or more
Since Covid, helped by distance,
Came around and slammed the door.
We drove for two plus hours
For a meal in their back yard
And this is what was waiting:
Pink balloons, some clothes, a card…
An Elvis photo in a frame,
A CD and two mugs,
A necklace with a heart, tiaras
And some heartfelt hugs.
Brett grilled some yummy burgers
While his mom provided sides.
There was music and a birthday cake
And so much love besides.
What a wonderful reunion
And a way to celebrate
Both a birthday and a taste of
Future meetings that await.
*Briana is my daughter. She and Brett met
at a special needs camp over 20 years ago.
