Premium Member Am I Being Heard

[Verse 1]
Our lives were on an uphill slope
We were happy, no reason to mope
Our hearts full of grace from above
Nothing could dissuade our sweet love

[Chorus]
In an instant, cancer revealed her arrival
Soon, nothing was important but survival
Our lives were changed so completely
Cancer assured she never walks discreetly

[Verse 2]
Our dreams became a memory to recall
The leaves wept with the passing of fall
Although we tried, we couldn’t forget
All the reasons for living… so much to regret

[Chorus]
In an instant, cancer revealed her arrival
Soon, nothing was important but survival
Our lives were changed so completely
Cancer assured she never walks discreetly

[Verse 3]
My prayers are full of pleas for healing
Will God hear? Does He know how I’m feeling?
Will tomorrow bring a cure for this disease?
Taking the treatments, as I fall to my knees!

[Chorus]
In an instant, cancer revealed her arrival
Soon, nothing was important but survival
Our lives were changed so completely
Cancer assured she never walks discreetly

[Verse 4]
Cancer writes her story in heartbreak
In the shadows, darkness does forsake
Writing in tears and fears, loneliness nears
And my soul remembers peace who disappears

[Chorus]
In an instant, cancer revealed her arrival
Soon, nothing was important but survival
Our lives were changed so completely
Cancer assured she never walks discreetly

[Verse 5]
Cancer kills the cells that make me whole
I feel it’s shadow trembling in my soul
When will I see this pain pass away?
Oh, dear Jesus, all I can do is pray…

[Bridge]
Just pray, pray for the healing – you say
Wait just a minute, restoration will come today
A cure! Oh, God how I pray, just pray
For a recovery… Oh Jesus, come what may…

[Verse 6]
I know You have the power, to heal completely
And your love! It is love that sings so sweetly
A song of grace and hope, love that blesses those
Who know, whatever comes, You died and arose

[Outro]
You died and arose, and thankful that I chose
To believe You when you say, there’ll be a better day
Come what may, there’ll be a better day
And I just pray… pray for it all to go your way!

Anxious Ardor

They talk about not taking it too far,
when first meeting someone.
Arbitrary limits to thoughts set the bar,
setting inanities, falsehoods, to be spun.

All are so afraid of coming on too strong,
most definitely including me.
Feeling a spark quickly shouldn't be wrong,
should even be a goal, far as I can see.

I let the hook-up culture hijack my mind,
made me see all in a lesser light.
Someone awesome I hardly hoped to find,
some redress here I seek, with what I write.

After so long with zero real connections,
this is alien ground.
'Dating rules' shouldn't dictate affections,
by procedure I don't wish to be bound.

Ever done something, and knew right away
it wasn't a good move?
I've done that plenty, could promptly say
of my own action I didn't approve.

But that didn't happen when I met you,
not by a far cry.
It was the reverse, if I speak true,
at the end of the night hated to say goodbye.

Your grayish green eyes said "hi"
before so did that charming smile.
And what, even more, kept me flying high,
was that we laughed the whole while.

I also enjoyed your friends very much,
and especially your wit.
We both felt good, told each other such,
and I won't deny magic when I see it.

Out of that aforementioned fear,
it'll likely be awhile before this you see.
I'd rather not feel that one can be *too* sincere,
but won't risk whatever this may be.

Premium Member February Is Short, Cold, Snowy, And Pristine

I love the month of February,
The shortest and coldest month of the season,
For an array of personal reasons.
And yet, it feels like Feb is the longest,
For the events that happen haphazardly,
Amidst treacherous winter storm blasts.
Quasi everything is frozen and solid near the nest
Of the American bald eagles,
Except the Mardi Gras masks under the rumbles.

February is the season of love,
The month of Saint Valentine,
A quintessential paradise cove,
Where lovers take refuge. Pure, Pristine,
Snowy, short, Pure, dark, and lovely; Feb’s now
The celebratory month of Black history,
One wonders why and how
We get the shortest one. It's another story
That we should let the nomad seagulls
Decipher. No bathers on the sandy beaches,
Solely, a few birds are perched on the branches,
Far away from the cribs of the bald eagles.

February is a month of a kaleidoscopic contrast,
Where snowfalls happen quite often,
And hardcore lovers dream warmth under a heaven
Full of hope, love, beauty, and ice.

Premium Member The Graduate

Sweet blooms in golden hour's wake,
As a diploma is given with handshake.
To blue-gold skies over glassy lake,
Scarlet redbird, the clouds overtake!

Nature is alive, and so is the degree,
And just no telling what all will be!
Like midnight stars in afar enormity,
Or a new dawn that whispers, "destiny."

As overburdened trees drop the fruit,
When succulent ripeness is absolute,
So marches the young graduate, astute,
With keen precision and mind acute.

These are the times to watch so, oh!
Though up to now, it was touch and go.
Childhood's memory we'll always know,
In fond hearts, while it doesn't show.

As summer beckons and butterflies flit,
And dreamy green bowers songs transmit,
There is one vivid blossom I do admit,
Stands apart from all others, exquisite!

Finding Myself

(3/30/13)
I had written about my heavy heart and how you
Had become such a big part.
So with these thoughts going thru my head
I will lay my fears to rest.
There is so much beauty on this site, that it
Fills my heart with strength and might.
There are so many of us going thru aches and pains
That to abandon you would be a crying shame.
There is so much hope in the words of all poets
And insights never seen or touched before
Because we are the ones who open the doors.
There are times that we want our poetry to
Find us fortune and fame, but we know that
Our lives will not be the same.
We will no longer write from the heart or be able
To shed a tear and to wipe away others fears
I found that my search for truth lies within, and if we
Don’t pursue it; it will be a crying sin.

Premium Member The Night Jesus Was Born

On this night, Christmas Eve, Jesus was born
Bringing eternal life to you and me, this Son
Of the One who created the light in the morn

He awakens our hearts from the hurts they mourn
Giving renewed hope to the ones we might shun
On this night, Christmas Eve, Jesus was born

He reminds us all that He was battered and torn
So that this race we have run would finally be won
We have the victory today because we’ve been reborn

It is for our faith in Jesus that we blow our horn
Breathing grace into this place where love has begun
On this night, Christmas Eve, Jesus was born

For our final victory, He endured the Cross and scorn
Allowing the joy, hope and faith to win in the long run
Giving us love that lasts forever for our hearts to adorn

Applying the success of the Cross for which we’ve sworn
To love with hearts that shine Jesus’ light to everyone
On this night, Christmas Eve, Jesus was born
This is our Christ so there is no need to be forlorn

Premium Member Overlooking the Fraser River

As i close my eyes and narrate my dream
It would be my wish, my dream supreme

We meet at Williams Lake in BC Canada
Flying in from our corners of unhappiness
As we drive to the mountains, to our wanting address

We head for Mount Robson, through the Fraser Pass
Our destination is a wonderful log cabin
What a place to spend with your lass

Our destination reached as we view our wooden heaven
Surrounded by a carpet of virgin white snow
Overlooking the Fraser River

We settle and sit down with a nice wine
In wonderment at the panorama before our eyes
Knowing that it will be hard to ever say goodbye

Our afternoon melts into our evening of wait
As we dine to soft music
Absorbing the moment as we catch each others glints

We slow dance together, whispering in each others ears
Our hands in adventure whilst our lips finally meet
Telekinesis thoughts allow our clothing to drift

Barefooted we are as we grace the oak wooden floors
The roaring log fire captures our shadows
As we kiss in song arriving at the hearth of warmth

We bow to our knees naked as birth
Barriers melted as our skins touch in want and desire
Hands now like magnets, in caressing finesse

Moment after moment we absorb our souls
Against the fireside glow, we dance on the walls
Undulating movements captured by inner enthral

After My Death

Then if, after my death,
The world is still as cruel,
Stand on my grave with two feet,
And if a flower were to grow,
Next to my stone,
Step one foot out,
And look upon your peers,
And if you see sadness,
Take the flower from my grave,
And bring it to a stranger,
And if you bring upon that stranger, happiness,
Step the other foot out,
But if the stranger were to walk away,
Pluck the petals, and place them on the soil;
Then if, after my death,
The world is still as cruel,
Stand on my grave with two feet,
And if a hummingbird, lands on my stone,
Take the seeds of a fruit,
And place your hand out,
And if the bird eats from your hand,
Step one foot out,
But if the bird rejects the seeds,
Take them and plant them,
For the hungry can eat them,
Then the world could be made less cruel;
Then if, after my death,
The world is still as cruel,
Stand on my grave with two feet,
But know as you live on,
That each small kind gesture,
Every flower given,
And every seed sown,
Has left a soft imprint on the earth,
For the world may not change,
But our small gestures linger,
And our hopes stay alive,
To pave a kinder path for those to follow.

If wishes fell like rain ~ then certainly I am the storm – Anonymous

Starry eyed dreamer
Filled with insight into joy
She colors the heavens
In azure laughter
Shining hues of compassion

Floating through the sky
In moments, rays break through
The dawn mists inspiration
Through the twisting ideas
Flowing into whispered tenderness

Flavoring the sunrise
With overwhelming smiles
Joyful lights that sooth the soul
With breaths of kindness
Shades of pure gold

Rain falls softly in the silence
Beating out a rhythm
Losing all thought of fear
Within the hazy harmony
Which sighs in the aroma of thrills

Joy portrays the happiness
Discovered in a touch of hope
Alive inside the faith that pours out
Delight through a heavy heart
One who beats with yearning for love

Wishes murmur through the spirit
Sending out verses of life
Energizing the inner truth, the fire
That ignites a flame of desire
Passionate poetry filled with vision

Moonbeams leave a weightless trail
Footprints echoing a prayer
For adoration which frees the mind
To reveal love for tomorrow
Faith and hope for God’s promises

Premium Member Invincible

Some days, I feel lost and alone,
Like the brightest star has fallen, leaving
A deep, dark hole inside of me

Some days, I feel such doubt and despair,
Like the dried flower who lingers on the stem
Miserable, withering, desperate for relief

Some days, I feel weary and bleak,
Like the morning sun has gone behind a cloud
Leaving me with only the silence of regret

Some days, I feel desolate and glum,
Like the excitement of my dreams have dimmed
Black and murky, falling into the pit of dread

Some days, I feel dismal and joyless,
Like the whisper of light sparkling inside of me
Is shadowed beneath fear and anxiety

Some days, I feel like just giving up,
Like my heart and soul have been quieted
By the misery that has become a part of me

It is on those days, though… when I can’t
Even find the words to say, to pray
That I look up – and scan the horizon, the skies
For the trembling caress of One who knows me
Better than I know myself, for the One
Who inspires me to let go of my selfishness
And listen to the voice of His tenderness,
His promise that He is always with me, always
There to give to me – empathy, sympathy,
The wonder of a love that is so intimate…
It feels like He is – and, yes, oh yes, HE IS
Living within me – healing me, stirring hope in me

Because I know this light, this love, this SON
Who is more alive than anyone….
Some days, I feel like I am strong enough
To face whatever might come, with the confidence
That only the Savior of the world could bring to me!

Because of HIM – Some days, I feel invincible!
