On this night, Christmas Eve, Jesus was born Bringing eternal life to you and me, this Son Of the One who created the light in the morn He awakens our hearts from the hurts they mourn Giving renewed hope to the ones we might shun On this night, Christmas Eve, Jesus was born He reminds us all that He was battered and torn So that this race we have run would finally be won We have the victory today because we’ve been reborn It is for our faith in Jesus that we blow our horn Breathing grace into this place where love has begun On this night, Christmas Eve, Jesus was born For our final victory, He endured the Cross and scorn Allowing the joy, hope and faith to win in the long run Giving us love that lasts forever for our hearts to adorn Applying the success of the Cross for which we’ve sworn To love with hearts that shine Jesus’ light to everyone On this night, Christmas Eve, Jesus was born This is our Christ so there is no need to be forlorn Deck the Halls Poetry Contest Sponsored by Joseph May December 2, 2020
