L'accord romantique

You know what to do
it's all up to you
if you really want
what your saying

It aint shameful you see
if you wanna be with me
it's part of your lovers
obligation

run your mouth if
you want: stand out
in front
this will keep you
sacred

an unwavering commitment
based on mutaul trust
aint no whats in it for me
it's whats in it for us.
we set bounderies
talk things through
it the kind of validation
that keeps a love new

Syncopation: Deliberately placing rhythmic emphasis on the "off-beats" or unexpected parts of the measure rather than the strong downbeat."Cette chanson parle d'un homme qui voulait mettre sa femme enceinte ; mais comme c'était un fanfaron, elle lui a dit qu'elle accepterait à condition qu'ils utilisent un gode — « pour voir si tu oseras te vanter de ça !"

I Came To Paris To Be Un Homme Du Monde

Living in Paris as un homme du monde*
searching for la belle dame* strolling
by the Seine dreaming of stars gliding...
when she starts her swift danse macabre*,
to forget she was a famous femme savante.*
In autres temps,* Marie was a beauty:
who conquered wealthy men in France and Italy...
her soprano's voice stunned them in each scene!
Ma belle Marie,* tout le monde*: from New York to Paris,
went wild applauding you in elegant Opera Houses!
Ma belle Marie,* you savored success and riches, hating the baby in your womb;
and not being satisfied, you attempted to mercilessly destroy two lives!
Ma belle Marie,* get rid of that vile thought...replace it with thankful payers!
I came to Paris to be un homme du monde,* not to put flowers on your tomb!

Translation
un homme du monde: a sophisticated man
la belle dame: the beautiful lady
danse macabre: dance of death
femme savante: learned and cultured woman
autres temps: other times
ma belle Marie: my beautiful Marie
tout le monde: everybody

Premium Member A Homage To Our Friend, Mr. Lesly Simon Anselme

Brothers and sisters,
Our town, Anse d’Hainault, has lost one of its distinguished sons,
A true gentleman, Mr. Lesly Simon Anselme.
He was a man beloved by all the people of Anse d’Hainault.
That’s a very sad news, for us, in the diaspora!
Our sincere condolences go out to the entire family
And to all those grieving this loss. A friend has departed.
I cannot be there in person to shed my tears,
Yet I am there in prayer, in words, and in spirit.
I am currently traveling.
May he rest in peace! What a sorrowful passing!

P.S. Translation of “Hommage À Mr. Lesly Simon Anselme”.

a part of truth

Everyone must discover the truth,
Watching a small red cargo ship move away
From the port of Brest, slowly
By unmasking the young man who walks
Without fear of passing people,
Ignoring the baker in love with his wife
Without talent, ignoring his warm bread,
Everyone must discover what is behind
The devastated tropical forest,

Everyone must discover the truth, so difficult
Sitting on a bench facing the Atlantic Ocean,
By drinking without an ideal, wine from the slopes of Provence,
Everyone must discover the truth, by looking at the accident
From a car on the rainy road,

Everyone must discover the truth, so essential,
Opening the wardrobe of his old parents,
Crouching down to eat a mango
In an unhealthy port of Kenya,
Losing a game of poker with friends from childhood,
Everyone must discover the truth, looking at the desert caravans,
You can’t live without hiding your face, you can’t live
Face uncovered.

Yim Sayest He

that i might love as
lovers do
and make woman want and need me
then they shall stand before me
to be mine
the need of belonging
the soughted bare
thus must I havest thee as mine
the keepsake of love
that as lovers we might engage to
be in love
thus the creation of our togetherness
might have others to wish us apart
curse them that we have now
to be together
curse them that they wish us apart!

HAVEST ME
AS LOVER
HAVEST ME
OH THOSE WHO WISH US
STRAINGED AND UNRAVELED
HAVEST ME
AS LOVER
HAVEST ME
THAT I STRAIN FOR
LOVE HAVEST ME!
WAST THE NIGHT
WE HAVEST TOGETHER
MAKE US LOVE
EACH OTHER
HAVEST ME
THAT I STAND IN THE DOORWAY OF FOREVER
AND OPEN THE DOOR TO LET YOU
IN HAVEST ME
MIGHT I SEEP IN YOUR EMOTIONS
AND SMILE IN HAPPINESS
MIGHT I STAND BEFORE YOU AS LOVER
HAVEST ME.

JE VAIS APRÈS TOI French Verse-
I’m Coming After You-

Par tes yeux je vois la teinte de ton cœur ;
Votre esprit s'élève au-dessus de tout ce qui ne l'est pas ;
La beauté de ton sourire, tes lèvres dévouées ;
Votre esprit est en pleine pensée spirituelle ;

Et je viens après toi...
   Comme un vent de tornade soufflant sur les arbres, tu es fait pour moi ;
Et je viens après toi comme une brise printanière Je ne rêve que de toi et moi;
Et je viens après toi comme de l'eau sur un feu brûlant ;
Mon amour pour toi, tu ne connais pas mon cœur-esprit si terrible ;

Je suis après toi mais pas comme un stockeur ;
Je choisis de n'être qu'un patient témoin ;
Ceci, j'insiste pour que vous soyez ma nouvelle (Mme) Mme ;
J'ai craqué pour toi, c'est vrai ;
Je ne suis pas parfait mais je serais juste pour toi ;
Je ne te partagerai avec personne d'autre que Dieu ;

chérie je t'aime

et je viens après toi...
Comme une épingle de lumière dans l'obscurité
je viens après toi
Comme un lever de soleil matinal ;
je viens après toi
Maintenant, pendant que nous sommes encore en vie ;
je viens après toi;
Parce que je veux être ton homme ;

Je suis après toi mais pas comme un stockeur ;
Je choisis de n'être qu'un patient témoin ;
Ceci, j'insiste pour que vous soyez ma nouvelle (Mme) Mme ;
J'ai craqué pour toi, c'est vrai ;
Je ne suis pas parfait mais je serais juste pour toi ;
Je ne te partagerai avec personne d'autre que Dieu ;

chérie je t'aime

Et je viens après toi...

Et je viens après toi comme une brise printanière Je ne rêve que de toi et moi;

the life of an elephant

I wonder now,
If the life of an elephant is worth less than the life of a man,
Men are so vulgar, wicked and vicious,
Men are so inhuman, poor country,
Why shouldn’t an elephant be allowed to breathe?
Allowed to live upright, to love the savannah?
What happened to our past adventures?
What happened to our deepest desires?
The elephant is noble and valiant, courageous,
The sun shines for him as much as for us,
The elephant also knows that he is alive on this earth,
Let him enjoy the view, the life, the day, his children,
His soul is probably more beautiful than ours.

Je me demande désormais,

I don’t stream a lot of TV
but once I’m in that mode, I’m down
and I can’t get up.

Best pickup line I heard this week:
“You could be my emergency contact.”

A girl recently called me “weird people.”
She was effusive and I was put in my place.
Apparently, good grammar isn’t legally enforceable.
Her friend apologized, saying—and wrote it down.
“She lives on her phone; it’s a claustrophobic place.”
“Ooo!” I’d said, "Can I use that?” She gave me a blank look.

Leong, lisa and I were walking to class when a lone goose flew over,
honking incessantly, like a New York taxi in heavy traffic.
“That must be a Canadian goose,” I said, because my uninformed comments seem forever welcome—and we are pretty far north.
“I know what it was saying,” Leong offered, in her most inscrutable Asian way. Lisa and I waited to hear some Chinese wisdom, but what she finally said was, “Where IS everyone? I knew I shouldn’t have stopped to pee.”

There’s a song that goes, “We got married in a fever.”
That line seems so point-on to me. That’s how it happens.
Not, “We got married with a prenup, hotter than a brussel sprout.”
My Grandmère told me Peter and I will need a prenup, if we ever…

never over your
white-washed smile

words watered
with vibrant fragrance

fables
which filled my ear
linger clearly
as if they were now
shortly spoken

fateful flesh
fallen into nettle
&
burdensome briars
that since settled
at this whole heart

how had you found me
was I a litter of scrabble tiles
first, you spelled me
further, misspelled me
later, dispelled me
bad homme
burying sunlight
in bridal lace
& hollow vows
which vassalized me
chastised me
minimized me

& unmasked you—
solitary white
rose that bloomed
between those teeth
tumbled
& withered swiftly
in the wayward wind

never over your
basilisk-breath
black velvet tongue

threatening my life
scrambling joints
ruining sweat & tears
as every pore runs
red
becoming a river of blood
