Premium Member Morose Tears For the Passing of Mommy Germaine Dupiche

It has been raining everyday
The wet autumnal wind is here
And Mommy Maine just left us today
Peacefully. She just expired, dear
This Ebony Queen was a century plus six years young
Mommy Maine never got old. Beautiful and classy like a song
I was with her, in Houston, when her first beloved son
Our friend Yvon, had passed less than four months ago
Oh! Death, why, one day, must we all go?
What have we done to you? It’s always sad to lose
Someone special. At one point, nobody can choose
Between life and death. Mommy Maine just left us
She was our Black Star, our Smiling Diva. We’re at a loss
I have tears in my eyes, because she wouldn’t want me to cry
She was so magnanimous that she would not want us to cry
Mommy Maine just left. She just took her last breath
She left us. The celestial craft came early, at dawn, this morning
And left the body for us to ensepulcher, to bury. We are mourning
The passing of our wonderful North Star. Mommy Maine left
But she will without a doubt remain with us in spirit
She was an unspeakable inspiration, a quintessential majorette
A motivational speaker who always finds a way to encourage
To teach, to calm, to reason, to serve and to love. Her age
Did not matter. She was full of wisdom, wit, style, genre and protocol
No more smiles from her, no more advice and no more call
It’s raining profusely in the Northeast
Mrs. Germaine Dupiche, a hard worker, is now at rest, at peace
May God continue to bless such a beautiful mother
The dearest mother, aunt, friend of so many like Mother Nature!

P.S. My late father, Gustave Logerie would have said:
Que la Terre vous soit légère!
Sit tibi terra levis ! May the Earth be light on you!

Who Will Sing Their Praises [cont'D 2]

Though Australia opened up its doors and migrant families came,
still the struggle to assimilate was tough, though, just the same.
Exploitation in the work-force would be sadly forced on some,
while for others isolation was the thing to overcome.

Subtle changes were forthcoming and throughout the post-war years
opportunities would rise for women to pursue careers.
The old stigma still hung on that ‘women’s work’ stayed in the house:
just a ‘someone’ who was always there to tend her young and spouse.

Then the Germaine Greers arose to liberate all female souls
and our nation came of age as women now fill many roles
in careers, on sporting fields, out in the bush or scientist,
law and order, politics and more fill up an endless list.

Yet, the moulding of this country, through the many, many years
saw the men-folk, not the women take the glory and the cheers.
But at last the Aussie women-folk can stand and take a bow
As they’re worthy of the accolades - we rocognize that now.

I am certain that my forefathers would proudly stand with me
and we’ll sing those women’s praises in our solidarity.
So perhaps you’d like to join us and express how much you care
and applaud the working women who Advanced Australia Fair.

This poem was written specifically for the opening ceremony of Stage 1 of the Working
Women In Australia Project at the Workers Heritage Centre at Barcaldine in central
Queensland on July the 20th, 2002. I had the privilege to present the recorded poem that
evening in the presence of Mrs Margaret Whitlam, The Premier of Queensland, Mr Peter
Beattie and other dignitaries; my tribute to the wonderful role that many of our women
played in making this great country our home. This poem is available on our
CD, “Blacklisted.”

Premium Member Propinquity - First Place Contest Winner

Loneliness is never more cruel than when it is felt in close propinquity with someone who has ceased to communicate.
Germaine Greer

In the orbit of nearness, where hearts align
Where synapse evolves into a cherished sign,
We descry ourselves in place and time.
Bound by a close and familial rhyme.

Physical wistfulness and togetherness,
Creates a suture of joy and tenderness,
The juxtaposition of souls, so intertwined,
An agnate is formed—a bond we designed.

Forbearance and awareness we share,
Through pluralism, the incongruity we bear
For in this world of kindreds and propinquity,
We embrace the grace of coexisting diversity.

In the tapestry of life's grand design,
We are threads woven together, divine.
Antithetical in thoughts, beliefs, and ways,
Yet united in love throughout our days.

A binding bond of kin and vicinity, a holy thread,
Connecting us all and filling us with widespread
Embracing our differences, celebrating each hue,
We find strength in unity in all that we do.

In the embrace of love and togetherness,
We find solace and happiness.
Consanguinity brings us close.
In this world, we are all kin, but adios.

So let us cherish this bond we share.
Embrace the beauty of being aware.
That is our kindred spirit and propinquity.
We find strength and unity.

For in the land of nearness, we are one,
Connected by love, forever bound, never undone.
Common lineage and flesh, a dance so divine,
Where hearts intertwine, creating a luminous shine,

In the realm of nearness, we find solace and peace.
A tapestry of togetherness, where love will cease.
Kinship and nearness, a symphony of souls,
Where angels are perched atop their poles,

A Sudden Reply to Love - Call and Response
SUDDENLY...
by: Germaine Pasley

Just a kiss just a touch
Just a little too much
Keep my love keep my heart
Keep my mind for a start
Hold me close hold me tight
Hold me through the night

Love me now love me free
Love me nice and see
How my love can suddenly
Take a chance and be

There's a place there's a time
There's a beauty in our rhyme
When I'm low when I'm sad
When I'm lost or feeling mad
You give me hope give me bliss
Give me one tender kiss
And I'm lost and I'm found
And I'm claimed all around

Love me now love me free
Love me nice and see
How my love can suddenly
Take a chance and be

Take a chance and be
Suddenly...

REPLY TO LOVE...
by: Dan Kearley

I'll take your kiss
With your sweet touch
I could never get enough
With all your love in your sweet heart
Has filled my mind right from the start

I'll hold you close, and tender tight
With flaming passion all thru the night
My love for you now will always be
Believe in me, and you will see
How our love will suddenly
Take a chance and be...
With me

Any place or anytime
Our rhymes beauty will intertwine
When your sad or feeling low
Or just lost with no where to go
I'll give you hope with a tender kiss
Filled with passion, and with bliss
If your ever lost you will be found
For my love for you knows no bounds
My love for you now will always be
Believe in me, and you will see
How our love will suddenly
Take a chance and be
With me...

Metaphors

It's like a vase you had but sorry that you bought.
Like behaving as if you know, when it's so far from what you thought.
Some will despise the truth no matter the cost,
while some prefer to be ignorant than to admit they're lost.
Now life becomes easy with limited ways to earn.
Suddenly people change to crazy with unlimited ways to turn.

Listen carefully and go slow when you read.
Strive for the whole suitcase and not only what you need.
Though I care not for tomorrow It never troubles me to stay
that I'll be down by the river if I am unable to find my way.
So close to the end yet so much distance to the truth,
that time is a thief it takes everything even your youth.

"More dogs than bone", that's the term,
"Many rivers to cross" for some just don't learn.
It must be done for it only takes one
Some things are pointless if some things aren't won.
Priority is key;
So what cant you bare to see?

Desperate times, so speak no evil.
Information is value, so be cautious with people.
When the doors are close your unable to see
that everything has a price including the tree.
My words are perplex of this I am sure
But the odds can never be against us
if we're using metaphors.

Independently

My people, for too long we have been moving as a nation Independently,
so much so that our girls have become prostitutes and our youths have turned to crime.
The cost of living is high while the value of life has declined.
Now I could tell you what I am about but you've not gone deaf,
only gone blind.
Don't you see that to manipulate and kill each other is no way to achieve?
still others have done this so why must you believe?

"Each one, teach one, give a man a helping hand" .
Was this just a slogan or did I interpret it wrong?
We are God's people and we survive through his grace,
disregarding our race this is what I know.
So why do our men criticize and chastise our sisters
because she does not respond to a "Hi, Psst and hello"

And women why is your worth measured on a piece of paper?
Yourself respect and pride all set aside for later.
When you were born queens of the earth,
the very essence of life is what you give.
You need not money to define your worth
and I am not trying to tell you how to live
but for too long we have been doing it alone and I think it's time
we unite for under God we're all one family
and we've already tried it independently.

Stumble

Father I have done so many things that displeases you.
I have said things that made me appear so brand new
But my heart still remains humble though my mind is out of range.
Am I too far gone, or is there still hope for a change?

The seasons come and go thats the same with people.
Blessings come and go but its not the same with evil
Can you hear my cry? let it not go in vain
And if you see my heart then let it direct my brain.

Let me be lead by your cause and not because of greed.
My wait seems endless, while the weight is more than I need.
Now pain has no life while I gaze through my pane.
Do I appear different, or am I the same?
Is my heart still humble, or is it reacting strange?
See me for who I am and not what I've become.
Help me to see people and not what they have done.

My actions may stumble while my heart remains humble
So if I am out of range then I only need you in my life to stop acting strange.

Remember Me

when your darkest hour grows bleak
when your strongest breath grows weak

when you cant find any relief from the pain
when you wish for sun and only get rain

when your only prayer is done in vain
when your time has come to leave this plane

when you refuse to move from your own hell
when you deal with the devil your soul to sell

                            ......

remember me and my love so strong
remember me and where you belong

remember us and our laughter to tears
remember us and erase your fears

remember me and keep your head high
remember me and I'll help you fly

remember us and all the joy we shared
remember us and that I've always cared

                            ......

If you ever forget our love is true
remember me, and I'll remind you

**Germaine Pasley** sometimes we forget how much we mean to each other. I hope this poem is a subtle reminder to be thankful for our loved ones and never take them for granted, always always always remind them how much they are loved.
