Premium Member I Had the Best Window

two tall windows at opposing ends
that let all that glorious sunshine in
four sisters each in our corner
up in our open second floor bedroom

the rising sun greeted me each morning
as my bed occupied the east corner
and out my window lived a tall birch tree
so close i could touch it
luscious wispy branches ever swaying
i grew up feeling it watching over me
just like an angel on duty
protecting me through the years

how i loved sitting at my window
setting my dreams afloat like hot air balloons
through the seasons my window was my haven
sitting there dreaming, crying, writing poetry
looking out at the sun, gazing at the moon
i laughed, i sang, i waited and longed
most of all i couldn’t wait to grow up
silly silly girl

Ordinarily I lie in my bed
mentally grasping for any slender thread of slumber
which I can possibly find to cling to!
But there was one time -
a morning of early April -
when rising from bed, I felt an unusual urge
to don my housecoat and walk out to the deck.

In the stillness of pre-twilight,
I stood there some time just gazing out
at the vast valley and distant lake
of my adopted homeland.
Slowly, a sliver of lemon meringue
began coloring the horizon.

Drawn to dawn, I let myself succumb
to the beauty of it all.

A chorus of birds in nearby blossoming trees brightly chirruped,
heralding Easter morning's illumination.
On this day symbolic of redemption, I swear I heard
the silence of angels’ song.

Step Away

Yes, I too have an agenda for soon and years to come
To only get better from what I have become
For when I bounce back with energetic force
The path I fell countless times shan't ever be as coarse.

To stroll along with hindsight from damage done and past
And live along the journey where prior steps were fast
When lessons learned and all I earned sprinkles to the earth
To become seeds for some ready to rebirth.

Journey to the dreamtime where all is lost to gain
Where life perceived eternal with spirit and no pain
They welcome me with music and songs that lift my heart
How special are my people who never do depart.

Whilst here I stall with memories gazing into space
Recalling all the moments where love was sensed and grace
To persevere when only here throughout the night and day
Knowing where I travel, they're just a step away.

I fell in love with a dolphin long ago,
we met in Bermuda at The Blue Grotto
(my dad was posted there, I stayed for a week).
He swam up to me all silver and sleek,
checking me out as much as I did he.
We stayed transfixed gazing earnestly,
for a good long while before the show did start.
Then I was called upon TWICE to play a part!
I got to meet Patrick and shake his flipper,
he pulled me in a boat, me as his skipper!
Of all the kids there I was the only one picked;
his tainer no doubt noticed how we two had cliqued.
For a souvenir I bought an inflatable plastic
great big blue dolphin, and named him Patrick.

I was eleven then. Some years later I came accross an article entitled
"The Day The Dolphins Died", about the cull of dolphins to protect fish
stocks. The author wrote at the end something to the effect that he
"couldn't understand how someone could kill a dolphin after looking into
it's eyes and seeing it looking back."

 I wept. I still weep.

The enigma of space elicits awe,
and my soul seeks clarity of being.
For I see God's splendor, naked and raw,
in the relevance of what I'm seeing.

Eternity's lit by an ancient light;
a cosmic glow still visible today.
And gazing at trillions of lights at night:
I marvel at the stars, so far away.

Man treads upon the earth with timid feet;
afraid of what may lie beyond the grave.
For religion tends to taste bitter-sweet
making one feel like a religious slave.

A Christian doesn't question God's existence,
yet wonders why non-Christian souls don't count.
And thus, long-held truths confront resistance;
in identifying sins to surmount.

Twinkling lights piercing the darkness console
me, when the universe boggles my mind.
And viewing the cosmos comforts my soul,
for bathed in creation's light, faith roams blind.

Gentle Touch

I accepted that am a girl only after this incident
in which I witnessed peak adrenaline rush !!
That unforgettable day still alive in my vision~
When he held my hands ,
placing it on his shoulders,
pushed me against the wall,
curled up my soft silky hair in his finger tips
and pressed his warm.. already swollen lips
on my forehead;
I was in a crazy drive ..just completely lost in the
extended door of love explore,
doused in unsettling sudor dribbling leisurely;
Whilst undressing my soul,
he smoothly opened my heart and
embraced the throbbing beats.
Hot breaths from lungs continually waltzed over skin.
My ecstatic erogenous nerves thrived
in the phase of flash.
Stirring me throughout with kisses,
his swirling lingua caressed my curves.
Sensual flame unravelled his honeyed
steamy mood as my breathless faint moans
cuddled the heated passion,
his scent entangled to my hair, i inhaled and melted.
His masculine force strenuously spilled intoxication..
And I was his hunt caught to relieve his hunger
and fulfill desired crave.
He was extremely eager to devour,
gazing at his eyes I gulped down the sizzling tremor.
As it was gradually progressing..
I suddenly heard a sharp call through my ears.
"Wake up" !!
And there I lie, sighting the ceiling & fan.
It took so long for me to realize that it was a dream.
Just an incomplete, unquenched dream...

Untitled

Starry, starry night, starlight bright
The stars I gaze at - I visualize this
An evening of mesmerized aura of bliss
I wish I may see the stars at eve
And wish the newborn day I believe
Would be the ultimate of pure joy
And shall then be up at the break of dawn
To see the sunrise - heavenly stars
Gazing at thee - predicts the sun
And shall I see hues gleaming on my face
The aura surrounding me I see
Those radiant colors of prominence
Thus the starry, starry night amazes me
I see in the stars the hues of the moon
I gaze - I visualize truly hence
And therefore this I still believe
Beauty is quite contrare, Indeed
I perceive!

Jewels of Love

When fearful voices in the night began to cry,
Roaring from countless dreams behind the scream,
Dribbled eyes gazing into darkness at the vast sky,
This darksome turn, down into a wet pool of frown.

Perhaps the living of everyday hurts so much
Being stuck in this world always fooling around,
Dredged with pain and despair of being watch,
Drowning with whatever pleasure can be found.

But I feel far away from the depressed bridge
Hearing echoes of merry din sounds in the distance,
Lapping floating charge, cleared and cheered the barge.
Sent in the midst, to bring glorious untwist deliverance.

Into space where stars reside in overwhelming glory,
There is only thing in life more radiant and beautiful
As the reflections beaming from an infinite galaxy,
It is a sultry truth that slides down far into our soul.

The jewels of love shines brightest in the human heart,
With universal temptations from acres of diamonds,
Shining brightly in the vast atmosphere of perfect light
Filling all the void of emptiness with unique demands.

Let love break down the walls that surround the region,
With the Eternal Light selected source of happiness,
And move belief to fill our days with deeper expectation,
By discovering love, the smoothest jewel of bliss.

 The Dancer

From afar I watch intently
as she moves about so gently
knowing not, and consequently,
unaware what’s in my heart.

Such a beauty this sweet creature
as I watch her from the bleachers
gazing at her shapely features;
has somebody claimed her heart?

Knowing not, the weight is crushing;
through my veins my blood is rushing;
deep desires, my thoughts are blushing;
could she love me with her heart?

Guess I’ll never know the answer,
truth about this darling dancer,
questions spreading like a cancer
feeding on my hungry heart.

I came from hope, faith and love
There was a twinkle in my Granny’s eyes
A gentleness in my Mama’s smile
Genius in the family who survived
On the promise of a grace that abides

I came from seekers, believers
There was wisdom in their favor
A silence that whispered freedom
Listening for the words that embraced
Away each heartbreak, each shadow

I came from colors, vibrant and bold,
Feelings so alive they were laughing, savoring
Each emotion, every sparkle of a tear
Each smile, every giggle, even the prayers
Fading into the comforting rhythm of raindrops

I came from pleas for direction, correction
From promises in scriptures, read by minds
Who were tempted and tried, revealing truths
Inspiring all the wonder inside, the beauty
Kindness that would never betray the soul

I came from risking dreams so that joy might be
Shimmering like the stardust sighs, singing
Mystery, caressing hearts with sensitivity
Blessing wishes, ambitions, aspirations who plead
For the chance to bring peace to every belief

I came from owning my ideas, seeing reality
As the time when I would give back to society
Pieces of light, reflecting, amazed and gazing
Like the sun and moon, wonderful and beautiful
Thriving with a sense of assurance, abiding sagacity

I came from the heart of a mountain family
Who worked and smiled and decided that life
Is a rich and vibrant hue of silent flourishing
Blooms like roses opening to the wonders of light
Pouring out over their delicate, dewy insight

I came from people who know that real love
Doesn’t come from romantic confrontations,
Material blessings or some important title –
It doesn’t survive the darkness because of desire
And it isn’t inspired by fading external beauty!

REAL LOVE comes from being filled with HIM
The ONE who died on a cross because of sin
… and gave each of us the chance to believe
… so our spirits would forever live
In the presence of a Savior who assures us we can give…
Back to this world – the assurance of HIM!
