The Un-Racist Truth

I’ve often heard you say these days
that your skin is keeping you down,
that others look at it and try
to drive your dreams deep in the ground.
As if ‘The Man’ was right out there,
scheming against skin-tones abhorred,
even though ‘The Man’ was last seen
way back in nineteen sixty-four.
You think this shouting and whingeing
will somehow make a difference,
then you ascribe to racism
what’s explained by pure indifference.
Nobody’s out to keep you down,
and I think it’s time we be fair,
they don’t want to help or hurt you,
the truth is they just don’t care.

They have no time to plan or scheme
when everything is said and told,
they’re busy trying to survive
in a world frightful and cold.
Ninety percent of their own thoughts
are ever-focused on themselves,
it’s the same for every human,
it’s the story that we all tell.
We honestly don’t have the time
to think much on other's lives,
this self-interest is a good thing,
otherwise we’d not survive.
They don’t scheme to oppress you,
their minds don’t even go there,
it’s too much struggle to go plot,
the truth is they just don’t care.

Perhaps you should stop and look at
the content of their own thoughts,
I bet most of it is about yourself,
that is just humanity’s lot.
Does that mean you despise all those
that you happen to pass on the street?
Of course not, it just means that they
play no part in your daily beat.
Do you waste time thinking of how
you can hurt them for their skin?
Or do you just ignore them all
to focus on you and your kin?
If you’re not taking lots of time
to plot how to bring them despair,
then what makes you think that they will?
Like you, they do not really care.

If your mind's craving excuses
for a potential yet unmet,
then trying to blame another,
is an old, time-tested bet.
But smearing people in that way
will just retard your own mind’s growth,
the true problems lay deep within,
that is what the wisest know.
But shouting names is so easy,
and gives a person false-esteem,
you believe you look heroic,
but we see hateful and mean.
Blame lighter folks, or darker ones,
but it won’t get you anywhere,
you’ll only be hurting yourself…
but luckily, we won’t care.

Premium Member ALONE AND BLESSED

My current life
A Mother who didn’t care
Inspired individual accord
Guided daily by the Lord
I stand on God’s promise
A Mother not honest
Unassured of herself
Marked me for Death
Heaven said, “You have time left”
Storms filtered
Loss in my own valley aiming for the top
It was a hard climb mountain with no stop
Endurance gave me strength
Aim became a determined reach
The experience was a teach
Inspired ready
Focused steady
No Mother can ever wonder
Teachings came yonder
Tomorrow became today in every way
Truly blessed
People will always have a say
I am ok
I am at where I belong
True friend always at the end
Goodness being the blend
I know I can
Living is a transcend
Inspired life
Cherished voices
Echoes of don’t worry
Breathe in your aspirations
Your footsteps will be carrying you
Every pursuit an adventure
Reflections like a everlasting picture
Never alone, but always blessed

Guitar String

It's a chord
 easily struck, softly strummed
hovering on a mind obsessed possesed
delusional hums,
pining emotions,
feelings, love, heartache on the run.

Play a song for me,
 slow then hurry
 on flightless wings
hidden meanings on the tightened guitar strings
vibrating in the air
 fuzzy, delightfully whimsical
 dreams of love and desire
hanging on the crevice in the pinnacle,
like a needle
 threading through
 the eyes of the heart,
 clear and pure yet sightless,
let the melody play
vibrant,
focused and demure.

Hear the music,
 listen well,
 play it on your heartstrings,
the rhythmic marmalade
of uplifted swells
 the blissful timbre
of the resonant stringed guitar spell.

Premium Member Road To Home

Wash boardy ruff country roads leading home
Sun dried each day of your long useful life
Over dark green fields no more will I roam

Those dark green fields that are wide leads to wrong
Not warmth, love, understanding, only strife
Wash boardy ruff country roads leading home

Harder to climb, narrower close to home
Nearer, nearer begin to see great sights
Over dark green fields no more will I roam

Drawing, drawing come, long hill top see dome
There are friends, family, offering life
Wash boardy ruff country roads leading home

The fields were greener, there was fun, the songs
Offering entertainment glitter sights
Over dark green fields no more will I roam

Now sights focused on heavenly song
Lights brighter at end of the narrow way
Wash boardy ruff country roads leading home
Over dark green fields no more will I roam

On Our Knees

Dear Kenyans,
Say this after me.

Dear God,
Teach us how to live.
How to keep the brotherhood.
The one we had for the last five years.

Dear God,
Make Raila learn contentment.
To concede defeat when it happens.
That you're the one who make leaders.

Dear God,
Let Ruto understand the probability.
That everything is possible.
The way up cum down.

Dear God,
Shower Kenyatta with wisdom.
To learn how to handover power.
To whoever you've chosen.

Dear God,
Tell Wajahckoya that Kenyans are focused.
Not subject to trials.
Let the hyena carry the cojones.

Dear God,
Bless Mwaure the meek.
To continue with thy work.
To pray for peace in Kenya.

I Don'T Owe You Anything

So many days
All passed in a blur
With all my thoughts
Focused all on her

It was no way to live
Trapped within the past
But now today
I can say at last

I'm sorry for
Everything I put you through
But you put me through things too

And I don't owe you anything
What's done is truly done
We hurt each other so many times
But it's time to run

Those days were nice
Back when you still cared
I really did
But I was really scared

It's been a year
Since you killed our hope
I suffered all these days
Tangled in your rope

I'm sorry for
Everything I put you through
But you were just as bad

And I don't owe you anything
What's done is truly done
We hurt each other so many times
But now it's time to run and

I spent a whole year trying
To sort out what you left
And now I've finally got it
You didn't leave me so bereft

You helped me find
The man beneath the boy
You helped me grow
And learn how to destroy

Apologies
Don't mean a thing anymore
You've already made your choice

So I don't owe you anything
I'm glad it's finally done
A year of atonement ends today
The time has finally run

Out, the sands of time caress
My face as clouds give way to rain
We're even now and now I can walk
Without my heart in pain

Army of Truth

lost within the pages of a forgotten heart i sing,
reading in between the lines of almost everything,
the unseen battle that wages war with our flesh and sinful nature,
standing up for a greater cause that will change our lives forever,
revealing what we cannot see through trials on life's path,
armies charging against the righteous, sword in hand, god's truth we grasp,
"are you ready?" asks the almighty and powerful king,
to move forward in this battle, to lose everything for me?
i will hold tight to your precious words even in dismay,
i will stay focused in all i do to hear every word you say.

"Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces
perserverience, perserverience, charactor, and charactor, hope." Romans 5:3,4

alone inside with me, less than inspirational

so look out for the more interesting folk

  momentary excitement, the fiery motivational

beyond the familiar, to stoke and provoke

  daydream departure from mundane conversational

adventures cocooned in my warm cosy cloak

cool charismatic characters, charming skills to admire

the wily wheelers, the dubious dealers

the mighty movers, the shuffling shakers, to these I aspire

delvers of science, the body-mind healers

frisky purveyors of seduction spray fuel to the fire

risky game chancers, the common sense stealers

suspenders of disbelief, poetic weavers of word

  jovial jugglers of juxtaposition

addicted acquisitors, spinners shifting the absurd

  fabulous fakers, deceptive magician

image presenters, dark or backlit, focused or blurred

  sculptors of form, instrumental musician

composers of melody, glorious singers of song

whatever the stage, great performers of art

  athletic achievers stretching stubbornly strong

rhythmic dynamo dancers moving close or apart

food-feeding salivators, their tasty pleasures prolong

delightful set dishes or delicious a la carte

whether imbibed on its own or in good company enjoyed

the brewer, the vintner, the masters of malt

innovative designers, architects of structure and void

  the philosopher's stone, comfort-zone assault

insightful free thinkers, long-held paradigms destroyed

tall storytelling teachers without fear of fault

mathematical manipulators of numbers and code

quantum diving or high-flying to the stars

engineering fabricators, tunnel, bridge, rail and road

  crazy drivers and loop-turning avatars

tinkering technicians, ecologists with wisdom bestowed

planners of protest, the remover of scars

inspirational givers, those with just the skill of their bent

empathy crossing over to be by your side

the meek, the afflicted, those who can ill-afford the rent

the refugee fleer from our wars worldwide

safety seekers, brave rational people with lives to augment

as we build indifferent walls... hope denied!

Fractured Memories Remain

Frctured memories remain
over and over in time again refrains
 embedded in the mind dearly
 it's the heart that sees more clearly;
simple and politely attained
focused on the encounters and love gained
 was it sunny that day
 or did it rain?

A first love experience is often lost to clarity
 delightful and innocent predictive familiarity
 recollected awkward sophistications
 the when and why of final destinations;
looking back the mind can focus
on the mix and match hocus pocus
but the heart alone can see
 the future you and me.

Some fifty years have passed away
tears and laughter shared over those days
do you remember them as well as I
 always wondered who would be first to say goodbye;
they're only sweet memories dusty now
together we got thru them all somehow
 with minds and bonded hearts
those memories live tho we are apart.

Beliefs based on values, the earth as a whole;
In league with creation of moon and the stars,
To strings am related on tenor guitars.

Ensure that relations in love will stay firm.
Extend pragmatism in fields of mystique
Approach every challenge with focused technique
Directing attention in moments of stress
To angels who show you the way to success.
I came from a planet to keep hopes alive;
