Interwoven

Place your head on my shoulder,
let it stay there
and we'll just breathe
together
in
...and... out

Inhale positivity,
exhale negativity-

Pluck the sadness from the air,
unravel that ball of worry...
We'll find that knot
that started it all,
untangle it,
and wave ribbons
in the air

We'll let those colors swirl
around each other,
we'll blend them...
then weave them

into a tapestry

that comforts us
in the end

Doesn't matter
at all
if it turns out
 too short

Our lives
are full of tangles
anyway,
a lot of thread
out there...

So place your hand in mine,
let it stay there,
and we'll weave
together
...in
...and... out...

The fear of the LORD is the beginning of Wisdom
Prudent are all who live by it Psalm 111:10

AREN’T WE SUPPOSED TO have gotten past fear-motivated worship and
Punishment-avoidance spirituality?
Didn’t God-as-Big-Brother step aside for God-as-Loving-Father?
But is it not “fear of the Lord”
Still one of the gifts of the Holy Spirit that we receive at our Baptism

Affirm in our Confirmation?
Jewish and Christian scholars alike have wrestled with the Hebrew phrase Yirah Adonai
Offering varied and rich commentaries
Recurrent among the interpretations

“Fear of the Lord”
Means “awe and reverence”
As in this context
“Fear”

Can also refer to what we feel when we love someone
Deeply that we would do anything in the world not to hurt him or her
Or damage our relationship with love-ones

Taken together
Both meanings offer us profound
Wisdom towards growing each day in
Ever-deepening our union with God

Scene 1 - In a cabin on the Mountain side:
" Kenny, you ol' Food Dog you. How was your trip" '" Long and boring. I came as soon as I got your letter. How's Chef doing?"
"Not well, they have him over at the old folks home, they want to commit him for Dementia; as Executor of his estate they need
your signature." " I doubt they'll get that." " A Dr. Mendelsohnn has a status meeting tomorrow at 2" " Well what happened? "Chef
was on one of his nature walks when he ran into two hikers, they got scared and called 911, said there was a crazy man in the woods.
By time the cops got up here Harry was home." "Who was with him, Phil who was with him?" " Kenny, it was Black Friday everyone
was at work" " Jesus Christ, Sorry Lord. Phil, you guys promised never to leave him alone after he was diagnosed with stomach cancer"
" Sorry Ken I got called into work, Chef said he felt fine, you know how Chef is about working." Yea I know, but we also know he's
not always truthful about his health. So they just took him away" Not really, when Mike got here there was 4 cop cars in the yard, they
had to literally drag him out. Chef wasn't acting sane. Dr. Mendelsohnn said he has Dementia, and wants to commit him to Easy Rest Adult Care."
" Not a problem, Phil, Does the year 2004 and 2007 mean anything to Chef" "Redsox World Series Wins." Right , Chef said when he doesn't
remember them, then it's time to leave this realm

One of Lifes Pleasures

Pick a coffee mug
From the glass case. They come in all colors,
Shapes, and designs from all over the place.
I am glad family and friends feel safe and
Snug
As we pull the rush plug
And escape the rat race.
Pick a coffee mug
As we talk we pass around the coffee jug
This helps us to interface.
I am glad family and friends feel safe and
Snug
While sitting around my living room or on
My floor rug
As they drink the warm liquid their hands
Wrap around to embrace
A coffee mug.
It gives my heart strings a tug
To see all these smiling faces.
I am glad family and friends feel safe and
Snug.
As they leave we exchange hugs
And when the next coffee meeting will
Take place.
Pick a coffee mug
I am glad family and friends feel safe and
Snug.

Till the Next Leap Year

It's another new uncommon day
A day that comes just once in every four yrs
I'm happy I'm alive to see today
God I'm most grateful
Facebook won't be able to bring up this memory until the next for years
I won't be able to check the memory from this fone then, cos I'd av changed it
More grey hairs, new look,
Wife and children hopefully
More friends, some betrayals
Plenty success and achievements
Better fones, better life
Older ( but younger in mind and wiser

Wishing my brother success in his exam
I love my mother, love my father
Love my brothers , love my family
My special love to Oloye Adeyinka Olufunmi. Waiting for your man.
My apologies to Tosin Oloye, forgive me.
I love and respect my BBL alwaz and ever
I love myself, love my life
Love and respect my friends
God bless NOSDRA zones and HQ
Love my colleagues, God bless u all
Till 2020, LOVE YOU ALL

The Chieftains Wrath

Once i lived with an uncle in a sleepy coastal town
who had a very beautiful house help from upcountry
now my male cousin Kiki desired to have a relationship
with our beautiful house help who was very lovely

One day Kiki arrives home alone he tries his advances
she flatly rejects him he then tries harder than its allowed
with no success.. later that night he is summoned by my uncle
Kiki tries best to defend himself....but is severely reprimanded

Now my Chieftain uncle is given to punishment and for Kiki
our Kiki is ordered to spend the night in the Chicken house..
not the European pet chickens these are real African chicken
complete with a rooster who scratches Kiki mercilessly

Come morning Kiki is full of scratches but he has learnt his lesson
he apologizes like his life depends on it and high tails out of the house
Safari my chieftains uncle we all love him but is know to be really hard
when it comes to meting out punishment and our Kiki had it coming

The Closer Ones

After sixteen years
How does one say bye?
How do you let go?
Not of them
But the company
To embrace loneliness
And say bye
How?
How do you refuse a silent bye bye

To no one but the closer ones

I’ll play a façade, a camaraderie
When you love the one who’s so far away
How do you deal with not being able to wake up every morning
And breathe, “I Love You!”
When your future prospectus dares to tell you
“Never again will you meet”
How do you wake up and still carry on with this loved one?

When words are your only angelic weapon to play in lieu of your heart
How do you remain faithful with so many others close by

It’s the devotion of the soul
It’s the freedom of the heart
It’s a reverie of the mind

If I faltered
Where would we stand?
If you faltered
Would my heart still beat?

When you love the one who’s far away
Regardless of the generation
How do you cope with the thought of future separation?

When Friendship Blooms

There should be a knot in our friendship,
That never breaks in any conflict or fight.
When I am happy, your smile should shine,
And when you are hurt, let my tears entwine.

Friendship should tease and make us smile,
A bond that cherishes every mile.
A friendship that laughs through every day,
And fights sometimes but never fades away.

Friendship has no scent, no rule to abide,
It's just a passion we keep deep inside.
A bond that everyone should embrace,
For in its warmth lies life’s true grace.

Your presence bloomed a garden in my heart,
A new spring of love that life did impart.
And in your company, my soul found peace,
A fragrance of friendship that will never cease.

I'Ve Forgiven, Not Forgotten

In spite of the willingness to forget,
I haven't found the strength to do that...
images with hurtful words return,
and inside your harmful laughs still burn.

I've forgiven, not forgotten...and the kind Lord
will remind me that He was mocked as I was;
but slowly I'll be able to get over this grudge of old,
and before you intentionally hurt someone with words.

Too dark, deplorable and hopeless was my outlook on life,
until I realized that forgiving someone liberates a soul held by a tight chain;
and without feeling any animosity or attempting to revenge this eternal dire...
I let it disappear from my view, never to remember it again.

I've forgiven, not forgotten...being equally unhallowed,
and the hesitation on my part was an unkind act of revenge;
I wanted total satisfaction by being emotionally tense,
but who is evoking guilt when the tides have been turned?
