Just ‘jealous’ doesn’t do her justice, since
unless you factor-in her womanhood,
no vestige of the passion in her blood
or motivation comes across: her prince
conceived real circumspection. He’d convince
alumni, friends and allies that they should
placate her: Juno wasn’t wholly good,
in Miller’s words, a phrase which wins the quince,
the prize for sweetness, but wholly herself.
Our modern model argues men are strong –
look at his biceps! Somehow, all along,
I’ve known the Ghibelline to be a Guelph:
no question, Juno would approve my song:
as ingrained as the view is, it’s still wrong.
I know I am getting old,
But I have not put making a budget on hold,
And the theory does not leave me cold,
As my marbles point to it being worth its weight in gold
Yet counting marbles I don't own,
is letting me down,
Making me feel like a clown,
As I try to get rid of a frown.
I have sought all sorts of advice,
On how to get my head out of this vice,
So my budget can include some rice,
But all the feedback was not nice.
Maybe counting the number of fingers in my pie is beyond me now,
And predicting which day my bank fees are due,
I longer know how,
I even must factor in penalties somehow,
Which has left permanent wrinkles on my brow.
What with that and covid -19 making the cash,
I have managed to stash,
In value, about to crash,
As cards now only way to get some potatoes to mash,
No wonder I am breaking out in a rash.
I had planned to make a lash,
Out of a curtain sash,
To give to my favourite politician in lieu of cash,
But saw some women dressed in leather at his door holding a more expensive
lash,
That, suggests my budget blues will not be solved by acting rash,
And I will have to wait til covid -19 has done its dash,
Hoping I am still around with my cash,
When those holding on to plastic will no longer have potatoes to mash,
And my budget blues will be gone in a flash.

I ultimately rule over these stunning valleys,
Elm trees with mossy brows line the alleys.
Where distant peaks arise, calm and azure,
Akin to the strong tripods used for rapture.
Who can't view river stones as viable paths?
A scad of scramblers on spurs stoning laths.
To slay fair faces, who bartered leaden blasts,
And weapons because of their leopard casts.
Who inflicted lasting wounds upon the land,
Those who pursued the avian crowns stand.
Fetched to flatten fascinating flesh but failed,
Who still flies above "fallen Tomahawk," veiled?
From my awakened gaze, I view a world,
Across eyes that bear a black shade furled.
A confined space, restricted and stretched out,
Then I cast a velvety gaze over a dumb doubt.
In a shadowed visage, this is how I mumble,
These walls, built by oppression, must crumble.
I must quit as I gaze upon my unique form,
Through opened eyes, no longer blind corm.
And behold, my unique hands create,
The space exists within my mind spate.
Nonviolent activists avoid causing friction,
Path for discovery, not building any tension.
Yield your tension a flight and let it depart,
God will never strain you over skills to impart.
Stress is only a reaction, probe not to worry,
Oddness from bodies and beliefs is blurry.
Not all stress stems from having a lot to do,
It originates from a lack of follow-through.
The potential increases with increasing strain,
Growth comes with a sense of life's innate pain.
I'm feeling hollow, not due to any sorrow,
Yet, in a sense of relief, each knot fades hollow.
The most crucial factor in ensuring lifespan,
Is staying clear of tension, worry, and strain.
Life is not a rising conflict or a stressful scene,
Life ought not to be painful; it may be serene.
It's habits that induce tension and relaxation,
Cutting rituals and building useful tension.
The crowd shuffles
hands raised in vain attempt
to catch a windblown lottery ticket
If you spend 25 bucks
(not counting the price of the turkey)
You can get the turkey
for 89 cents a pound
If not….you’ll pay more
for the turkey than for
the entire dinner.
Took my grandkids to the park.
saw 32 wild turkeys crossing the street
without a crossing guard.
Never play checkers with a cat.
I made Rock Cornish Game Hen for supper.
My kids wanted to know what happened to the turkey?
I told them I washed it…..and it shrunk.
I once ate “Blood Pudding” and Parsnips with my father.
Don’t ask!
How long does it take to become “indigenous”?
I asked Mom: “how many jelly beans can I have?”
She answered: “how many is too many.”
If you factor in all the cleaning, shopping, arranging, set-up, preparation….
the Thanksgiving meal comes to about $89.73 per person..
More if you have a “kids” table.

In life disagreements have always been around,
so why the frown?
We all like what we like and that’s the bottom line.
I won’t see life as you do because I am me and
you are you.
However, what kind of filter do you use before
you look?
The filter that you use is a determining factor in
what you see.
I’m not perfect by a long shot, but I try to let
optimism be my guide.
In a world of negativity it’s so easy to let op-
timism fall by the wayside.
The old saying is true “ treat others like you want
to be treated.“
If someone said they like(or have a nonchalant
demeanor )being mistreated or disrespected,
I don’t believe you.
Because at the core, we all are human beings
and we have feelings.
If you don’t care now, you used to care, being
hurt over and over can cause pain; pain overload
turns into numbness.
The moment you allow yourself to feel again you
will understand.
Numbness can “walk around with a I don’t care”
attitude.
Once your numbness leaves, you will start to feel
again.
I know from personal experience, I wore my
numbness(as a shield of defense) for years
and nothing affected me.
Later on ,once I dealt with my pain and put
aside my shield of defense I started to heal.
The world in itself is cruel, and fueled by so
much hate.
But change starts with you and I, let’s agree
to disagree and walk in to love’s wing.

Have I been procrastinating a lot by staring at the slowest clock,
not getting up early and be in the happy mood to write?
Poetic words have been flying away from my sight! Hark!
I have put my pen down and watched a floating kite!
I have entered many contests since September and won none,
frustration has set in: I have become too lazy to compose a single line;
even the greatest poet loses against another who's younger!
Is age a relevant factor in winning? Should it be true, I would get angrier!
Sponsor, sponsor don't be deceived by fresh talent,
it's an unsweetened apple that needs time to get ripe;
mine is as old as this entrapped imagination that wants to escape...
if I convinced you that I'm much better: you wouldn't be diffident!
Competition is a fierce battle everyone likes to win in their lifetime:
a trophy is the reward for having worked their way to the top and shine;
often recognition brings fortunes...whoever said, " The pen is not might? "
I want fame more than riches: that's why I'm not fading from the spotlight!
THEY TRIED TO INCREASE THE LEVEL OF PRODUCTIVITY
THEY WANTED TO OUT PERFORM EACH NEW WAY OF DOING
THINGS
THEY SOUGHT REMEDY USING MACHINES, ROBOTS, HOVERCRAFTS
AND EVEN A TRACTOR THAT CARRIED A STAGE.
THE MAN WAS MADDENED BY HIS FAILURE TO DO
THE WORKS HIS WIFE HAD ACCEPTED OF HIM
SHE WOULD DIVORCE HIM
IF HE COULDN'T OUT PERFORM HER COMPETON
HE TOOK THE CHALLENGE AND MEET IT, NOT ONLY
TO DEFEAT HIS FOE, BUT TO BRING A CLEAR AND DISTINCTIVE LINE
BETWEEN THEN AND NOW.
THEY GREW TOMATOES AND OTHER VEGETABLES
AND WEATHER OFTEN PLAYED A FACTOR IN THEIR HOW
MUCH THEY COULD HARVEST AND WHEN.
HIS APPROACH WAS TO INCREASE PRODUCTIVITY TO ALLOW MORE TIME TO DO MORE WORK
WITH LESS EFFORT.
HE INVENTED A STAGE WHERE PEOPLE WHO SEAT AND A TRACTOR WOULD MOVE THROUGH THE FIELDS, WHILE THE SITTERS PICKED VEGETABLES.
ANOTHER CONTRAPTION WAS A HOVERCRAFT THAT CARRIED TENSEATS AND LARGE BASKETS, A PILOT WOULD OPERATE THE CRAFT WHILE THE WORKERS PERFORMED PICKING DUTIES.
THE OTHERS WERE ROBOTS THAT WOULD TAKE THE WHOLE TOMATO PLANT FROM THE GROUND AND SOUGHT GREEN AND RIPENED TOMATOES.
HE PREFERRED PICKING GREEN TOMATOES.
THE OTHER WAS A WHOLE DIFFERENT WAY OF PLANTING, AND HARVESTING
THEY SPACED THE PLANTS ROWS SO THAT A LARGE TRACTOR WOULD STRADDLE THEM.
THEY HAD A LARGE SCREENED AREA WERE THE WORKERS WALKED BACK AND FORTH, PICKING THROUGH THE SCREEN AND THE SLOW MOVING TRACTOR WOULD MOVE ABOUT TAKING IT'S TIME. THIS WAS A UNIQUE WAY OF PICKING TOMATOES, CUCUMBERS, PUMPKINS,SQUASH AND A LOT OF PLANTS.
THEY WANTED TO WIN. AND THESE IDEAS PROVENED HIM SUCCESSFUL. THEY WERE STOPPED WHEN A MEMBER OF HIS FAMILY CLAIMED, THAT THE IDEAS HAD BEEN SWIPED BY THE HUSBAND AND WIFE.

It's funny, she thinks.
Funny how you were the one
Begging to be trusted;
Showing offense
in realizing that she didn't.
It's funny, she thinks,
And here's why:
You begged her to trust you
And as the days grew on,
She did exactly that.
But now she's sitting here,
Waiting patiently for your return.
And she's holding on
To a hope that seems futile.
She's crying herself to sleep,
Every single night
Praying you return to her
As you promised you would.
Because when you begged her to trust you,
And she finally did,
You became an important factor in her life,
While to you,
She was nothing but a pass of time.
You meant the world to her,
But you couldn't even give her the time of day.
It's funny, she thinks,
How pathetic she is.
If you were to come back,
She'd accept you in a heartbeat
Because she still trusts you,
And she'll always be waiting.
Always doing something
plus I have opinions
Winning the war in Ukraine
pain I can’t explain
Saving for retirement
kayaking to the huckleberries across the River Styx
Kisses sweet or smell of
don’t pretend you don’t care
If you just watch the sky an hour each day you’ll never be ill
without plenty to say about everything you’ll get better right away
Disrobing and bathing, how big and dark the universe is
not that I accept their god
You get what you believe, a truly scary thought
man sees man in his mirror that is self-doubt
Contraceptives in place and pleasures today
drifting toward perpetual armageddon
Suffering and struggling toward vague goals
keeping your past functioning as a factor in the present
That irritating constant need to survive
prepare for a powerful anesthesia, irresistible chemical processes
Life goes on without a hiccup
you pays you money and you takes you chances
Some people go dancing in fishnet stockings
you’ll soon lose interest in wearing the cap of a fool
Your friends are the men you’ll want in your foxhole
the wound that never heals in the end is all you’ll feel
You’ll remove all your clothes, naked before the ladies
and if it comes to that, you’ll kill, on orders from whom?
Basic science and ancient arts
that must be what faith means
If, as they say, the cells of the body are replaced every seven years
fire makes earth into air, air makes earth into dust, water makes earth
into mud
