Free Will Hath Limitations

A Day With You

I would have lost my mind
If I try to imagine today without you
I think you and I know this fact that,
Seconds usually make minutes
And minutes makes an hour
But when I'm with you, it feels like
Seconds make hours
At least, so I thought
But here is the truth;
I don't even need to imagine what minutes would turn out to be when I'm with you
Yet, I know this for sure that
If we actually stay in such a moment
It'll be full of life living in feelings
Perhaps, even LOVE...
So, I thought you should know that
I'd give up my pen and paper
Just to have a moment with you
I mean,
I'd rather spend an eye blink with you
Rather than a day without you

Premium Member The Present

The Present

A fleeting moment in eternal time,
And ever progressive in real-time.

One’s “now” moment, then in history past,
Now in motion moving to future fast.

My words become history when I write,
No need to worry now—I’ll make them right.

As the present is present progressive,
The past then follows now so possessive.

The night stars are past in a mere eye blink,
Their images not part of “present” sync.

A constant portent of events to come,
As we each live “now” in what we’ll become.

Give me your hand for this moment is it;
Let’s seize now this moment and live in it.

Invisible

You’ve been toeing the line
from the onset
twiddling your thumbs
while you waited your turn
keeping your wobbly chin up
even as gloom piles up and
begins to dampen even
the upper crust
But then fortune prances in
magic wand at hand
to bust wide open the doors
to paradise
and make dreams come to life

All players are poised to pounce
All eyes zeroed in on the prize
thought you too stood a chance
if only
for the breath in your chest
Your heart drums up a storm
while your sweat glands are
put to the test

Soon as your turn nears
your eyes swirl and turn into
brimming pools of tears
In an eye blink it all disappears
Went and breathed new life
into your fears
and blinked away your chance
so it appears
as the door slams in your face

You crane your neck this way
then that way in vain
mouth agape with dismay
as hope falters, then dies away
and plans crumble into disarray

As per usual, it’s just not your day
Suckled dry, now you are just
in the way
Bout to be wheeled out
to the shed at the back too

Get you banished
behind an invisibility cloak
you are officially off the clock

Left you docked on aeroplane mode
Now you are just a code
Valid only on print
till your identity is needed
to get the con back on the road

"The story of life is quicker than the wink of an eye, the story of love is hello and goodbye...until we meet again"

~ from an unpublished poem by Jimi Hendrix.

A shy boy came of age in purple smoke
and learned to play a guitar that spoke
with a voice of feedback and bending note.
"Fly on angel" were words he wrote.

Not yet heard of, psychedelic,
both demonic and angelic,
his guitar was something wild,
a nineteen-sixties flower child.

Life and love is hello and goodbye
     until we meet again -
gone, in the blinking of an eye,
     a flower among men.

Wordless sound stories spun from strings
gave cosmic flight to little wings,
made my consciousness swirl
and open up to find a pearl.

His life upon this earth was brief,
An eye blink took him like a thief.
"Fly on angel", he wrote before he died.
"Tomorrow, I'll be by your side".

Life and love is hello and goodbye
     until we meet again -
gone, in the blinking of an eye,
    a flower among men.

We Are Africans

Even with your electric guitar and your drums,
It cannot be compared to our skin made drums.
You still cherish the sound of our music and it value
Despite how hard you tried to make we live life as designed by you.

We are Africans and our history is not all about slavery,
Yeah! It a dark side that when enunciated of will always bring misery,
As we spend centuries building your world in the absolute absence of choice,
Breaking our self-esteem, humiliating our ego, all to silence our voice.

Yet we grew up stronger than you think,
Providing for your factories with just a eye blink,
Despite with all the division you preach,
We chose to play by... as we stretch our hands friendly for you to reach.

Yet you think you are shrewder than us,
And you try to corrupt our leaders whom we trust.
Then paint them black by your media
Those who at the start realize that you are not our friend nonetheless the healer.

You take our rich heritage to beautify you museums,
You still, loot and scattered or kingdoms
Over four centuries you milk our Caws, and harvest our ivory,
You take our diamonds, steal our golds, and all the things you envy.

We are Africans, one made of many,
Rich in diversity, and a culture that you envy,
Skin color that shine, glitter and glow
Even with suppression, oppression yet slowly we grow.

How long is a short time, a hairs breadth above never
Seen within one eye blink, the lash will move forever
Perception throws curveball's, upon prismatic minds
Yet outside double slits, life-forms live completely blind

And voracious appetites, strip eyelashes of girth
Feeding on sebaceous oil, dines parasitic birth
Nibbling away, watching reality slip from sight
Getting up close and personal, with demodex mites

Making much from little, aiming to create new worlds
Eyelashes warp under pressure, turn inward and curl
Scratching the surface, observation now semi-blurred
Eyeballs driving us crazy, itch cannot be demurred

Lice-like creatures, slither up and down paying no tax
Using eyelids as havens, in remorseless attacks
Recombobulating dead skin, not the stuff of dreams
We rip earths orb to shreds daily, in monster machines
