When you died, half of me died as well.
My pain is unbearable!
There is nothing anyone can say or do
that can ease my hurt:
or bring me a minuscule amount of comfort.
When I close my eyes
I see your face, smiling at me.
And it breaks my heart,
to only see you in my dreams.
Death severed my heart in half!
And now, I drown in a river of tears
flowing into an ocean of grief.
And clinging to half a heart,
I slip into a world of memories and dreams:
trying to escape reality.
What good is half a heart?
Is it worth salvaging
when half of it is missing?
There is no wish or magic elixir
that can bring you back.
My loss is irretrievable!
I'm fated to live out my remaining years
with only half a heart.
And, until death reunites us:
I will never feel whole again.
Faith is a well-trodden path,
Affording a sanctuary to the troubled hearts,
In the depth of your soul you'll find peace;
Tattered souls, bruised hearts, disturbed minds,
Healed by the simple act of believing.
In His infinite wisdom He created the Universe,
Save this wretched little corner in my mind,
Asking questions, fostering doubts!
Pour unto my heart the Elixir of Eternal Life,
O, my Lord, my Benefactor,
Walk with me through these troubled times,
Erring ways of mine you kindly forgive,
Restore in me the willingness to accept the truth,
Forgive me my trespasses,
Until Thy Kingdom come,
Lead me not into temptation.
Thine is the kingdom, the power and the glory,
Hallowed be Thy name,
I am Thy lost sheep and Thou my Good Shepherd
Now, let me not wander astray,
Getting down on my knees to Thee I pray!

You have given me a gift
It is always wrapped
I perpetually open it with a smile
It is a never empty tin of freshly baked cookies
It is an elixir to fill my empty cup
even when it is not my birthday.
You have given me a gift
I have not earned it, but I can cash it in anytime I need it
You have dug deep and found
The very thing that touches my soul.
It is the perfectly personalized present
It tells me you know me and you care
It is both old and new
like us.
I have often come with shoulders slumped
To drink from this well
And have walked away with a song in my heart
When I look at this gift I see your face
When I ponder its rhythms I hear your voice
I have drunk briefly from the spring of eternal youth
I have been fed manna that does not spoil
My heart is refreshed over and over
For you have written me
a poem.
The Cadence of Loneliness
A clock with melted hands strikes nine in my suspended room,
My spine is an old bridge that collapsed beneath the weight of a name,
The sun and moon are the same mask worn in turns by one cursed face,
And in place of your face, only a black hole breathes into my world.
No one waits for me at the door, only a lamp burning without a wick, silent,
My house has doors that keep opening into other houses, never into me,
When I can do whatever I want, with no voice demanding an account from me,
What do you call that: an empty top hat turned toward the sky, or just a cage with no lock?
My days fall like cards from a deck held by a faceless hand,
Depression catches me mid-stride, a trapdoor hidden beneath the stage of my life,
I fall through the floor of time, through mirrors that show me no morning anymore,
Only a mute magician clapping his hands, showing me the same stars again.
The bartender pours into my glass an old spell, extinguished, without fire, without sparks,
It's time itself dressed in a tailcoat, pouring out forgetting, round after round, silent,
I drink the dead elixir from empty bottles, searching for the warmth of some god's eyes,
But the liquor changes nothing anymore — it only numbs the unborn emptiness.
What am I, really — a dream wandering through someone else's skin, or a nameless illness?
If it's just a phase, then name it, blind magician, from behind the curtain,
Behind you I see a chorus of shadows, other players lost through this same world,
All asking, like me, where the line is between guilt and innocence.
I walk on, alone, through a labyrinth of mirrors with no reflections,
With my tired steps, searching for a threshold that keeps retreating further,
I carry in my chest the same old question, woven through a thousand connections,
What is freedom, and what is just loneliness wearing a mask of silk, so often?
The staticky-stars climax under intense blanket of Winter glow.
Your spouse can’t see your spirited green eyes that burn slow.
The friction of campfire sticks, the satiny slipperiness of moon.
Flames of blue, orange and red won’t be overcome too soon.
Pert rose petals, that once were goosebumpy and ice cold,
scintillate like fireworks until the grand finale’s loosed, uncontrolled.
Warm breath in a cold Winter’s steamy and a restless beast.
Lips lavish over late night feast, matches singe, sate increased.
Squirming under the leisurely complement of coals, coalescing,
Coolness of a blue lake vaingloriously countering, distressing.
A long midnight’s thrashing, sans pillory; the high beams foray.
Pillow talk, a sensuous squeeze, a high-diving elixir bouquet.
Ah those stars brilliantly glowing on a long Winter’s night!
Those limbs blush, rose petals crush, with unfettered light.

I have plucked the thorn of thinking
from the innermost cave
of my heart”

Verse revisited on 20-March-2022
A burning yearning arising in our heart
Feeling separateness, distanced from oneness
Upon exhaustion of thought, divine pulsations start
Continuum of thought rested stillness, distilled awareness
Recognising omnipresent space as immediate and intimate
Unhesitatingly, our formless presence melds therein
In heart manifests a threefold flame chaste
As we feel benign bliss burn our skin
Our central vein ignited, heart delighted
Ego now but an instrument, in the head ovoid
The lamp of luminous love divine in heart is lighted
Vaporised soul presence is by vibrant bliss currents buoyed
Soma nectar flows from the Bindu, each node of form as such
The boundary between form and the vast void disappears
We are ceaselessly graced by Divine Mother’s touch
Manifest within as magnetic heat spears
Inner conflict ends, erect is our stance
Bliss suffused aliveness, God elixir breathing
Childlike innocence playfully performs divine dance
Bubbling effervescence, love to the universe so bequeathing

Embrace the oxymoron, if you will.
Shall I fool you with monsoon wrath?
Despite tears of rain, life will prevail.
via shattered aspirations.
clouds flirt with slate-azure moon
sunlight kisses the sea at dawn.
wind sighs to trees in plains of lustrous dew.
and scoff at me and you.
as trilling robins show up.
A radiant core of nature's elixir
yet, sunlight will flicker.
cloudless white will appear.
as gold, zenith, and amethyst adorn the sky.
Flaming saffron is poised to streak.
Cureless by modern science.
bare ribs, limbs, and joints fried.
Whispering winds hindered dexterity.
My vertebrae melted, were bare, and broke.
senseless failure to stand or fully expel.
weakened and can't sleep or thrive.
Wairua Worth dark wrath wrecked while
tethered as terms tumble to thrill.
Quill Genesis grows with glorious grace.
while the vile sword is versatile.
Cast aside vanity; dangling merely fits.
Rhapsody hopes to work; ponder if sick.
in shape, rekindled with sunshine
Life waltz beyond light, its nodes drew.
Slightly erratic amid a black haze.
feeling weak, leaving me bewildered.
My soul is cunning and cynical.
earned seclusion as slight streams.
Only gloomy storms entice me.
I hope for sunshine and a light breeze.
Shimmer! Sheer light!
dimming shadows ensue.
My life is on a slippery slide.
spaciously clear passageways.
shimmer! shimmer! before I leave.
subtly allow the warm rays in.
dance around my fading bed.
across the faintly lit abyss.
I should set upward...
“ I floundered about hither and thither
Light dawned within, when I took a breather!”

Bliss comes in riding, where are we hiding
Open your heart to the joy current now
Feel within, magnetism scintillating
To imbibe elixir, simply allow
Identity enemy; just rest it
Rekindle your innocence in fullness
Free flowing, judge neither fault nor merit
Hollowed out form then throbs with blissfulness
Path quite simple, oh hermit, let thoughts sleep
Love alone real, choose therefore alignment
Soma nectar vibrant, then seeps in deep
Resting ego mind, flow in contentment
Nothing to be done, for we are complete
Transfixed in divine love, with bliss replete

Coffee
Can one survive on coffee and coffee alone?
Secrets are shared, coffee; the keystone.
Coffee is a beverage that opens your soul.
You can drink it sitting or while on a stroll.
Coffee brings people together.
Drinking this glorious elixir, helps us to remember.
As we remeniss, as we share.
Coffee again, in the mug is there.
It warms you on a cold winters day.
Coffee, it always finds a way.
Is there ever to much?
Has coffee become my own crutch?
My vice, it's deliciousness, coffee!
While I drink it I write, it's for me!!
Coffee is a main staple.
Coffee, without it I'm unable-
to focus, to communicate.
Coffee helps me to disseminate.
My words flow, my mind clear.
When my cup of coffee always near.
I know that when I feel low,
I can pour coffee into my cup,
my thoughts flow.
It helps me remember my mom,
she loved coffee too.
An addiction, an affliction.
It brings me closer to you.
They say that coffee is bad.
With this in mind, it makes me mad.
"Limit the intake", my husband always enunciates.
But I feel he doesn't understand,
I rely on coffee, it substantiates-
every word, every image,
my soul begs for it.
Everything I envisage.
I just LOVE COFFEE!
The moment I looked, the world was full of nameless strangers,
And on a night when darkness sparkled, tears flowed silently,
My eyes caught yours, as if I had found a hidden dream,
I wished to sing your beauty with my gaze, a silent melody,
I wished to write you with my lips, a story of desire and fire,
I wished to drown in the sea of your tears, a wild ocean,
I wished to dance with you in the wordless night, an ethereal waltz,
I wished to be intoxicated by your name, an elixir of pure love,
I wished you would speak my name with your touch, a murmur of stars,
I wished to be you in your embrace, a merging of souls,
I wished you to be the moon of my darkness, lighting my way,
I wished you to be the words of my poem, a symphony of secrets,
And when you wrote your name on my palm with your fiery lips,
When you sang the song of love just for me, an eternal vow,
I wished to die with your name beautifully embedded in my chest,
I wished to fall, closing my eyes, into your infinite embrace,
For all I could do was... TO WISH.
