An average human lives around seven dog lives,
four to six cat lives, over twenty gerbil lives
but only three or four chinchilla lives,
if our lone chinchilla who died at twenty
is typical and you’re not raising them for the fur.
We're slightly over the lifespan of wild African elephants
but more than double that of their zoo born kin,
roughly twice the life of an average dromedary,
although I’ve never known an average dromedary,
in between the mean for sperm and blue whales
but only eighty percent that of Galápagos tortoises.
Mind you elephants, dromedaries, whales and
tortoises aren’t normally kept as pets. Neither
are viruses, although technically speaking viruses
may not be alive to start with. But nonetheless
this novel coronavirus we humans have
adopted could change
the numbers for
our species.
Hope.........
Hope,a child's longing for petty things.
Hope,a bird's strive for it's fledglings.
Hope,a poor-man's prayer when it's raining.
Hope, a man's wish for life when drowning.
Hope,a bedouin's search for the lost dromedary,
Hope,an old couple's wish to meet their progeny.
Hope,a dying woman's recluse in the after-life.
Hope, innocent desires of a kid's life.
Hope in God's mercy in everything good or bad.
Hope in God's will, when in joy or sad.
Hope of rain when it's hot as owen.
Hope of sun, when cold & frozen.
Hope,an everlasting sensation.
Hope, a rectifying sensation.
Hope gives life it's true meaning.
Hope enjoys, despair complaining.
Hope energizes today for tomorrow.
Hope is sowing seeds for reaping tomorrow .
Hope transcends from Here to Hereafter.
Hope corrects this life & life-after.
I've heard about the arrival of fanciful fushia strangers
but I've no fear of them and not worried about dangers.
They seem a bit nonsensical; funny the way they speak
To me, everything they say comes out sounding like Greek!
Maybe on their planet, peaches have three turquoise eyes
Could they be humans, just wearing an alien disguise?
I've never heard the haloed moon referred to as mother Mary,
nor of opulent opal oceans and a three humped dromedary.
I call them fluff nuggets; an accurate description, I think
Their gibberish makes me shake with laughter, quick as a wink
Life forms like these AI are manipulated by puppet strings
They're infringing upon planet Earth, inhabited by Earthlings.
*These are my thoughts and words, but if you take umbrage with
any of the lines, I'll throw Jan under the bus, cuz she started it.
Three camels met in the hot sands one afternoon. They traveled far and came from different places.
One camel said, "I have seen a lot of camels like me everywhere I traveled, but I haven't seen one like you two."
The two other camels looked at each other and nodded.
The second camel said, "I have traveled a lot and haven't seen any similar like you two."
The first and third camel sneered.
Then the third camel said, "I never heard camels talk like you two."
The three happen to be an old ordinary plain camel, a bactrian and a dromedary.
Moments later, a new camel arrived. The fourth camel said he is from Yemen.
The three camels were amazed... seeing a freak dromedary with four fully-formed humps.
(Was on a pic of a llama with a thick lock of hair on his head, styled in quite human like fashion and it was grinning. If u google llamas perhaps then u will understand what I mean)
This flesh 'n' blood cousin of the ship 'o' the desert
here is given that funky punky , stylish haircut?
Could it be optical illusion or screen manipulation
causing him to grin in mock jubilation?
And ain't he gonna toss those bangs like some real groovy llama?
My doesn't he look ready for any showbiz dromedary drama?
Ah yes, he does look handsome, do come have a view
of this fuzzy, comedy dromedary beau!
Send in the paparazzi, for he's already saying cheese
But he prefers his own kind, send in some lady llamas please.
Hey, like humans, llamas can stick their tongues out and spit to express displeasure
So keep your distance from angry ones or you will regret the mismeasure
The one I see in the picture is a cool llama teenaager
but he's no teeny-bopper, for he's a teetotaller
as no one ever saw him
with a bottle of gin or lager!
Prickly cool fills my lungs,
Like a bladder canteen on a Bedu dromedary,
Sloshing the alveoli that branch, internal ...
Frozen filligree fanning my firkin chest.
I blink a tear, staring up at the belt of Orion,
Cold as the snow that wraps me like mother's womb.
Forever lost in the frightening beauty of God's providence,
I sacrifice my last breath to the naked, shimmering heavens,
Letting the night devour me, tender and bleak,
As I dream ... of sand castles.

A dromedary treks through the hot desert sands
Its rider wears a patch over one eye
In the distance a single palm tree stands
As they seek an oasis under the desert sun
In the unforgiving heat hallucinations are born
The rider thinks he sees a unicorn
To quench their thirst is their singular quest
As under the sole palm tree they stop to rest
They journey on at a slow rate of speed
Just one oasis is all they need
The one eyed man more than the beast
One drop of water, just one drop at least
Then the solitary rider sees something ahead
He hopes its an oasis and not a mirage instead
But this time it's the real thing
He takes one sip at a time from this desert spring

Eyes, in such a way, that some strange virture, some everlasting release
Was imparted to he. A strange bargain indeed; to resist the gods and to please
Satan in his rebellioin from all that was natural, yet also noxious
After a tie; for, to what end unlimited perfection…..it would seem abnoxious
With no end in sight; and big oaks and trees seeming mortal, yet not dying
Ever guessing His source, teasing their mysteries and playing
And their relation to Adam; her husband, not by choice
But a program counter-intuitive; such that her voice
Would only ever be a mere shadow, a gaunt echo
Of Adam and his Masters booming light, much like the gecko
Who hides softly and silkily in shade cool and damp
Or the giant elephant loping about clumsy who only seems to tramp
‘Why this gecko seeking moist air, when the sun chokes his breathe
Or the elephant, whose stampde maks him an unwelcome guest.
Not content to merely laugh at the huge trunk of the dromedary and his tusk
To reach up and grab his elephantine robes and to smell his musk
Likely she grew tired of the large mammal and his heavy hoof beats
Relentlessly poundingthe earth beneath, hearing him, perhaps from Africa to Crete
And caused the rumbling which finally toppled the walls of those fair cities Minoan
Or how else did the Kingdom of Knossos fall, so far, the ancient site shows a window
Of perfect harmony and bliss an ordered society and blest, with violence well at bay
The Idylli morals deepset in grape and olive, crushed sunset with sailors at play
Riding on top of dolphins and drinking from the boot, gathering for the store-house
Oil, Wine and Wheat; preparing for competition with glove to box or race to trod---no man a louse
It would seem this island fantasy a paradise much like that mentioned in Genesis, Eden
Where the rule of the monarch rested lightly on the people; and men had ample time to find their abundant pleasure, among the dolphin or minotaur
Where pictures depict gymnasts leapingover bulls and by so doing pass the bar
Of manhood in such simple and playful way, with manly innocence
They had proven their version of the garden—With good sense
Mr Dromedary
Looked so forlorn today.
He tried to fathom out
Why he was being sent away.
A magnitude of questions
Stormed around his anxious head.
Is it my wonky gait?
Is it something I've done or said?
Is it because my regurgitated
Cud could fill a barrel?
Are my eyelashes too long?
Is it my shaggy apparel?
So many fears and insecurities
Occupied this camel.
He even contemplated
His unflossed enamel!
His severe lack of confidence
Kept his Dulla small.
Is this why the girls don't
Gel with me during mating call?
Had he strayed too many times
From the leadings of the boss?
He was in a quandary.
He was truly at a loss.
And all it boiled down to
Was another wildlife resort
Needed Mr Dromedary
To expand his sort.
The dromedary camel has one hump,
and the Bactrian camel has two,
but I always get them mixed up!
Do you?
So, just for a bit of fun,
here are some alternate names for camels.
(Feel free to pick your favorite one!)
One alternative, after some study,
could be a handle like "Dune Buddy".
Or we could suggest, without fear of rebuke,
an appellation like "Desert Duke".
While sipping on some apple cider,
I thought of this one: "Sandy Strider".
And my friend, an avid motorbiker,
has suggested "Hump Hiker".
Here's a basketball reference that's worth the money.
How's this for a name? "Camelo Anthony"!
And a medieval reference which we can allot
would, of course, be none other than "Camel-ot"!
