This is it,
The moment has come,
That will decide,
How many human qualities we have left,
When we come out the other side and are virus free.
To those who say we are over-reacting,
I say we are not,
What we do now,
How kind and compassionate we remain throughout,
Will determine if society comes out of this orderly,
Or disorderly.
Look to how hospitals are coping,
If you want a reality check,
Because that is one of the main reasons, we are in lock down.
Don't be misled by the supposed high survival rate,
Because if the hospitals can't cope,
With Doctors and Nurses bowing out,
Then if you have cancer,
And can't get a diagnosis in time,
Then you can kiss your chances of survival goodbye.
I should know,
I had my diagnosis in time,
And was successfully treated last year,
What a difference a year can make.
Unlike a long and sunny summer day,
Children are not prone to come out and play.
We don't hear the birds singing and having their say.
Crops have been harvested and growers have done their best.
Farmlands are reclining and machinery has been put to rest.
Unless there's a storm, things are programmed to release their stress.
The chill is on, the thrills are subdued, and much of nature is hibernating.
Except for evergreens, trees and vegetation seem to be grieving. Since
The wake of Fall, fowls and butterflies have been leaving. Winds, ice, snow,
and broken power lines are sending many to the slow lane because Winter has
spoken and released her troops of pain. No, it's no secret that Winter, like
every season, compels all creatures both mild and wild to change.
“The World’s Playground”
"Ring around the roses. Ring around the roses".
Jack the ripper, he slept with a whore, and became deadly ill
Awhile his wife Jill became suicidal dependent on the Prozac pill
Mother Goose lost all four of her children it was easy to ignore.
She was too busy being a **** star it was hardcore.
One had his brains fried. One died from electric shock.
One survived to an infant to be killed on the block
Last became involved in gambling, a financial debt he can’t pay
The mob sent the goose a bleeding red box saying happy birthday.
Welcome to our playground. The world is such a joy.
Every girl and every boy is a playgirl or playboy.
We have candy, video games, lollipop, and teens
We have Drugs, sex, alcohol, slaves, and atm machines
By raising the right hand shouting upon the witness stand
This is zappy land, this is zippy land, this is the zingy land.
Sparrow and Fly killed Cock Robin with a ball and chain
In a black pond the fish devoured the bird’s brains
Old Grandma once had delicious pie the night when Crow Man came.
She then had two children who took her life’s blame.
Hansel became a business man who took people’s homes.
Baba Yaga pimped Gretel on the streets of Rome.
Hansel lost his control. He cooked his old hag.
Gretel was cut opened killed by a douchbag.
“Girls and boys, come out to play,
The [stars] doth shine as bright as day;”
Leave your families, don’t be discreet,
“And come with your [fellows] into the street.”
Little children holding hands, "ring around the rosy".
Children dancing gleefully "with pockets full of posies".
Happily they burn the days away. "Ashes, ashes".
Going through life, "we all fall down".
Welcome to our playground. The world is such a joy.
Every girl and every boy is a playgirl or playboy.
We have candy, video games, lollipop, and teens
We have Drugs, sex, alcohol, slaves and atm machines
This is happy land, this is happy land, this is happy land.
Welcome to our playground. The world is such a joy.
Every girl and every boy is a Playgirl or playboy.
We have candy, video games, lollipop, and teens
We have Drugs, sex, alcohol, slaves, and atm machines
This is happy land, this is happy land, this is happy land.
This is the place to be.
"Ashes. Ashes. We all fall down".

DEED I
Be courteous and helpful
to the blind woman,
or man who's unable to cross
the street as a scary cat;
they often wait at the traffic light
for the kindest person,
to grasp their hand until
they are on the other side.
DEED II
See folks struggling
with the heavy grocery bags;
don't be embarrassed to ask them...
if they need a hand to carry them to their door.
DEED III
Give a dollar to the homeless while catching the bus or train:
" Thank you and God bless " will make your busy day!
DEED IV
Shoving the snow on a stormy day for the elderly who are afraid to come out:
watch them smile behind the frosty windows!
I walk in the shadows in a field
at night.
I watch as the moon rise up, so
bright.
Knowing as the time has come
around again.
Feeling something strange in
the wind.
All Hallow's Eve its called,
for all the ghost, goblins, and
ghouls aren't far.
They know its their time to
come out,
and we roam with them, all
about.
Scared and thrilled.
Blood will be spilled.
Heart rates will rise.
Screams will fly,
but time will never die.
Dark shadows runs in the light.
Filling us all with fright.
Yet, we all know what it means.
When horror turns into dreams.
Scary, is it not?
Something we forgot.
As the moment slipped away,
we all started to pray.
My holiday isn't over,
for I consider myself its queen.
So I would like all of you to
know,
Happy Halloween!
I would like the power to instill empathy in every human being I meet
Giving them beautiful smiles and hand waves as I walk down the street.
I would let the magic of kindness and love filter into their heart
I know it is not everything, but you have to admit, it would be a start.
Every robber, rapist and murderer I meet would rethink an evil intention.
I doubt the residual effects I would even have to slightly mention.
They would curb their dastardly deeds.
I would be planting the seeds, yes, just planting the seeds.
Killing would stop, because empathy and killing do not go hand in hand.
I think it would be so grand, we could have an empathy band.
This fantastic super power might instill world peace.
Imagine the good that could come out of this. All wars would probably cease.
World-wide appreciation would happen naturally if I had this superpower.
I would use daily from my waking moment until three a.m., the witching hour.
The bugs that come out of nowhere
can cause me to easily flinch.
In fact, I’ll jump up in the air
if I see one come just an inch.
Things creepy and crawly – KAPUT!
The bugs that come out of nowhere
will find themselves stomped by my foot.
(Spiders have not got a prayer.)
If an insect lands in my hair,
I’ll nearly jump out of my skin.
The bugs that come out of nowhere
best flee from the room that I’m in!
I’ll swat at them furiously
once they’ve given me a great scare,
for I can’t abide close to me
the bugs that come out of nowhere!

We are plain yellow chicks in my barnyard, my family and I
Well, we were, until the birth of my younger brother, Guy
He is the most excitable chick we had ever hoped to see
Getting enthusiastic to the utmost degree
When his feathers begin to turn from yellow to pink
And then blue and red, we know what to think
When purple comes out, and then a bit of green
We run away from him, for he tends to get mean
The more emotions that come out of little Guy
The less he can control them, he does not even try
When he is in full blown mood explosion we stay away
Luckily, he usually sleeps away the entire next day.
You came out of nowhere, a total surprise
no warning, you sprang into view
unwanted companion right before my eyes
crept out before anyone knew.
No need for a friendship, no need for respect
no need for a long term affair,
I made up my mind that you just had to go
before anyone knew you were there.
There were several attempts, they became much more vicious,
I tried several plans of attack,
but each time that I thought I had come out on top
some days later you kept coming back.
It seems that we're fated to spend life together
till death us do part, I suppose,
I'm sure that one day I'll feel comfortable with you
the hair on the end of my nose.
STOP
Barking.
The dogs are barking again.
It happens every night about the same time.
I think that is the exact hour, the man comes home…
from the bar.
He lost his job, because of drink.
He lost his job, because of drugs.
He lost his job, because of “fill in the excuse.”
He lost sight of what was important.
He cheated and he no longer cared.
In the morning, early… always…
At the crack of dawn!
His wife will come out with a cup of water.
It probably has ice in it.
The man is always mad, but moves to slow.
If it were not him last night and the night before,
riling up the dogs, and causing chaos?
Then, I should be worried.
Yet I am not. I am safe.
I have already done battle…
with this evil.
I should be concerned anyway.
I should take notice of my neighbor.
I should tell his wife I have seen the black eye,
I am aware of the fights…
if she is afraid…
is she afraid?
The dogs stopped barking.
It has been three days.
The man has a new job?
The woman left.
No one was there to pick up the call.
The officer left a message.
