Premium Member White Christmas Is Not

White Christmas is not what many people think it is
As we know Christmas is a lively annual festival
Celebrated seven days before the end of the year
Of the Nativity of Jesus. Christmas is a joyful, colorful
And wonderful feast, where stars glow and glisten.

People who live not too far from the cold North Pole
Always dream of a snowy or white Christmas
Where Mother Nature is frosted and crystallized
And the streets are paved with black or clear ice.

Christmas is celebrated by billions across the universe
It is a major festival of hope, happiness and lights
Northerners often dream of a very cold or snowy Christmas
Which brings powerful nostalgic feelings of yesteryear
When children used to listen.

Nowadays, Christmas is multicultural and highly colorful
Bing Crosby wrote of a ‘White Christmas’ for everybody
Living in the world, where imagination brings Hope, Noël,
Yule and Joy, regardless of the religion, creed, gender or race.

Blanca Navidad No Lo Es

Vera Pavlova Translations

Vera Pavlova English Translations of Russian Poems

I shattered your heart;
now I limp through the shards
barefoot.
—Vera Pavlova, loose translation/interpretation by Michael R. Burch

Winter? a beast.
Spring? a bud.
Summer? a bug.
Autumn? a bird.
The rest of the time I'm a woman.
—Vera Pavlova, loose translation/interpretation by Michael R. Burch

Immortalize me!
With your bare, warm palm
please sculpt and mold my malleable snow.
Polish me until I glow.
—Vera Pavlova, loose translation/interpretation by Michael R. Burch

Scales:
on the one hand joy;
on the other sorrow.
Sorrow is the weightier;
therefore joy
elevates.
—Vera Pavlova, loose translation/interpretation by Michael R. Burch

I walk a tightrope,
balanced by a child
in each arm.
—Vera Pavlova, loose translation/interpretation by Michael R. Burch

God saw
it was good.
Adam saw
it was impressive.
Eve saw
it was improvable.
—Vera Pavlova, loose translation/interpretation by Michael R. Burch

A muse inspires when she arrives,
a wife when she departs,
a mistress when she’s absent.
Would you like me to manage all that simultaneously?
—Vera Pavlova, loose translation/interpretation by Michael R. Burch

You, my dear, are my shielding stone:
to sing behind, or bash my head on.
—Vera Pavlova, loose translation/interpretation by Michael R. Burch

Remember me as I am this instant: abrupt and absent,
my words fluttering like moths trapped in a curtain.
—Vera Pavlova, loose translation/interpretation by Michael R. Burch

I have been dropped
and fell from such
immense heights
for so long that
perhaps I still
have enough
time to learn
how to
fly.
—Vera Pavlova, loose translation/interpretation by Michael R. Burch

Premium Member Out Of Luck

I desperately wanted to come back
And you surreptitiously checked out of my life
I no longer have a friend, confidant, lover and wife
Indeed, I’m out of luck
Thank God the firmament remains blue
The clouds are traipsing left and right
The birds are enjoying the slow flight
And my pain is fresh and new
Yet I’m a survivor
Indeed a valiant fighter
I resign myself to suffering for a while
I’m found guilty and sentenced
Without a fair and just trial
I realize that love makes no sense
You can laugh, giggle, jump and dance
I’m now hurt, out of luck, mute and unbalanced.

Yo deseaba desesperadamente volver
Soy declarado culpable y sentenciado
Y yo dolido, desafortunado, mudo y desequilibrado.

Premium Member My Collections - 2

I collect smiles
From those I haven’t seen in a while
They always remind me why
I feel blessed to be a part of their life
Their light, their insight and quiet
Feelings of comradery and cheer
Kindness that is so alive and so real
Love that kindles whispers of inspiration
Flowing through my mind and coloring
My imagination in joy, hope and peace
All the flavors of beautiful dreams!

I gather laughter
From the hearts and souls who share
Parts of their life and love, their wonder
The sweetness of lives so adorable,
So brilliant and warm and promising
Like a flower just opening to show the world
It’s feathery joy, it’s bloom of such glory
Unfading, flaming with vibrant hues
Of peace that whispers of sensational
Attraction to love, praying and praising
The One who creates every amazement!

I store up happiness
From spirits alive with the joy that comes
Alive on the lives of those who know love
Will stir feelings to breath deeply of light
Which pierces the darkness, dancing rays
Of sunny intuition which sooths the gaze with
Delicious freedom from the worry, the fear
That seems to live on broken hearts, broken
By the pain that comes from losing a friend
Losing love that would never ever end
To the past who stares back in wheezing
Wishes, lingering on the emotion who grows silent
Like a prayer being spoken by the soul
Who knows that only God can comfort and heal
With His gentle presence, His grace, His will
To give the gift of contentment to those who
He chooses to love tenderly because He truly is
A good, good Father, a friend, a serenity
So real that we can’t comprehend His creativeness
Or His mystery – He is the One I believe in
With appreciation for His gift to me – His love
That is stronger than any worry, fear or tear
His love is the reason I know what it is to be redeemed
By a grace that lives in the center of love so precious
A love that is alive, the answer to survival…
Jesus, the help who knows all about me and loves me
With a love that is beyond my comprehension.
It is a love that gives and lives forevermore!

I collect this gift for me…
Inside a heart who believes in Him
The One who shines down truth in me
And gives me a second chance to be
The woman that loves unconditionally
With a love that He pours into me!

Premium Member Let Haiti Be Absolutely Free

Let Haiti be absolutely free
Haiti is the father of Freedom and Liberty
Haiti is the first nation to forever ban or abolish slavery
And the slave trade in the western hemisphere
And in the world
The first to practice absolute equality
Among men and women on this sphere
And throughout the world
Stop meddling and interfering detrimentally with Haiti
Leave Haiti alone to be absolutely free
Haiti is the first nation to dig up and plant the seed of freedom
For the world to unfortunately follow with pure hypocrisy
Haiti is the first country to denounce false democracy
Haiti is the first leader to choose martyrdom
The first oasis to defeat colonialism in the Americas
Haiti is where was born the first buzz of jazz
The first beat and cry of “We Shall Overcome”
Haiti is the first country that they tried to betray
Haitians are the first unsung Heroes to die for Liberty and Freedom
Thanks to Haiti that many people are living free today
Since Haiti had spread the incense throughout the world
“Live free or die; Freedom or Death”. Leave Haiti alone to live
They made Haiti poor, undesirable, dangerous and unsafe
By supplying weapons to knuckle heads, teenagers and youngsters
They damned Haiti with crazy terrorists, thieves, bandits and gangsters
In daylight, they tried to push Haiti down the steepest cliff
Yes, they robbed, looted, poisoned, and they miserably failed
To dwarf, to kill Haiti and his noble dreams after numerous invasions. Leave
Leave Haiti so Haiti can be Haiti, let Haiti swim as Haiti pleases
Regardless of what one hears
Haiti is a nice piece of land with smart and proud Nègres
And brave and valiant men and women with small and big toes
Who will fight and shed blood, sweat and tears
To defend Haiti Chérie. Give justice to Haiti by any means
And help Haiti getting rid of the ungrateful criminals and the vermins
Haiti will underwhelm, rise and rise again in the Caribbean Seas
Because Haiti is peaceful, patient, lovely, adamant and resilient
Haiti’s children are watching and they are highly intelligent.

N.B. By the way, Nègres like ******* is not offensive to us, Haitians, however, ‘nizzers’ is insulting.

Never let your fears be the boundaries of your dreams. ~ unknown

Erase the dark with morning’s sweet breath,
Shimmering light silences shadow’s caress,
Blaming the night for all the worries and strife,
As whispers remember where her light shines.

Softest reflection of grace and love’s musings,
Gentling the spirit with quaint hues, so soothing,
Trembling to kiss her like the spring kisses summer,
Inviting the beauty of a heart spent by promise.

Collections of light, sighing so faintly, calming
The air, a blend of cinnamon and intimacy,
Laughing like the moon who shimmers in the east,
Brilliant and alive, peace woven through her seams.

Melting my dreams with a sincere enthusiasm,
Restoring hopes who couldn’t believe,
Challenging me to breathe when I feel like wheezing,
Remembering to agree with the spring’s blessings.

Listening to the music of wonder, amazed,
Feelings so quiet, breathless as tender praise,
Moments enchanted by the fireside of grace,
Shedding all the weary, bringing out heaven’s peace.

Risking every lifetime, weighing the chains of sorrow,
In undertones of melancholy, consenting to the joys,
Realize the dreams who reach beyond a heart and soul,
Into the miracles that abide in celestial folds - simply pure gold.

Forget about discouragements, darkness and dread,
Never let the fears compare to the strength of daring,
Defeat the night with the promise of shimmering legends,
Those who believe each wish is not complete without a heart.

Bring hope its reflection of a moment without time,
Where time was held by the faith of one who knows life…
Excites the kind, the song bringing assurance that abides,
Surviving all the worst that comes, with beautiful insights.

Realize, wherever you go, whatever you think you may know,
There is One who is alive, who decides…
If your heart is one who believes in real love, if your heart,
Will succeed in giving more than it is asking for…

And, realize – remember that with God’s glorious light,
There is the chance that – reflected in your heart,
You’ll discover the when and the how, the reason for it all,
There inside where His love glistens and glitters, inspiring…

The heart to always know – the blessing of love’s confiding!

Premium Member By Your Bedside

I am dying to be by you, at your bedside
Mon amour, I yearn every second to be by your side
To soothe the pain, to give you a good massage
To mesmerize you and to send the right message
To your body, to your soul and to your enduring heart
Darling, going forward, you and I should never be apart.

I am dying to be with you at night and day
Throughout your rehabilitation and your stay
At any medical facilities. I miss you very bad
I miss you all the time. I am both sad and mad
That I am not with you right now and today
I’m craving and dying to be by your side right away.

I will see you soon. I will be with you all the time
I will be the sweet healer who will happily rhyme
For you. I had been waiting for the perfect occasion
To come. I am eager to see you smile and laugh again
I am dying to be sitting and standing at your bed side
Sweetheart, I miss you like a sad lover, like a poor child.

Tu me manques terriblement

Small Wars In Paradise

"Small Wars in Paradise"

A small war in paradise
where the walls
are dripping
hearts pinned
with golden words

A ghost behind
the eyes of a Fate
shines a light
on the self-righteous
misinformed deux Moirai,

advocatus diaboli -

what remains,
The Devil’s Advocates
blinded in the eye
the dull intentioned
Assizes

Intervention
comes at a small cost
for the Soul
they think is lost
Tomorrow always delivers,

The Goods.

Small wars in Paradise
where sharp swords cut
blunt forked tongues
beating tattoos in time
to a betrayal of trust

a banshee assassin
it’s a relative choice

Won
Lost

A ghost behind the eyes
haunts the hallowed halls
of manipulative minds
holding black diamonds and spades
digging what was, is now dust

in both hands
bloodied,
murdering the past
one day at a time
slowly smiling

holding the crass dead
in a deep holed heart

now becomes the
smoking refined blunderbust
executing sentences
orchestral manouvres
in a dark knight mind

a banshee assassin
it’s a relative choice

The Woman Won
The Past Lost

all in good time...

Premium Member The Raven, the Crow, and the Dead Poet

Circling above on a sun shiny day
The raven twirls within his dreams
Of horrors soon to be inflicted
Soaring in the skies

The Preacher reads from the holy book
Collections duly collected on chanted psalms
The raven above with a sinister smile
He knew god’s plate was not full enough

Dark clouds from the east flew with the wind
Under the ravens command
As lightening struck the village steeple
Fire and brimstone, hell on earth

Humans who once lived by their daily bread
Became the bread of crows
Telegraph poles free to weep the news
As the crows feasted on the burnt flesh of our sins

The ravens’ heart pleased to share his torment
Amongst the brethren of feathered dark angels
The greed of humans shall be ridden of this earth
Crooned the raven under the spotlight of the devils moon

All were dead, the children too
All but one lone poet, so it seemed
Arms outstretched, clasping at pen and ink
Dying, dying to tell this black tale

Now, in tranquility, lies the village graveyard
Somber, quiet, flowers cover the horrors
Of that unholy day, of the ravens sins
His laughter echoes, echoes the pain

It is said, in the heat of summer nights
Crows sing and dance
As they feast on the remains
Of us, all of us, poets and all

Beside the village in the swamp
On that a very somber twisted day
An alligator lazed upon the shores
She, the only witness, to this feathered fiendish crime

In stealth she watched, scales of justice
A billion years of Gods creation
She slithered towards the stench of death
Teeth primed for an easy meal

A baby, oh so small, shivering in a fog of illusions
Looked into the eyes of the raven above
She saw that hell may very well come from above, not below
She resigned her baby cries to eternity, momma dead and gone

The alligator, teeth sharpened by natures instinct
Darted forth, and jaws stretched, swallows the baby whole
Slithering back towards the swamps shadows
The raven provided this nights’ meals gratuit

She spit out the baby, and licked her cheeks
Providing both substance and loving warmth
Hell may live above
Mercy and compassion may come from the swamp

High in the sky
The Raven
Lost this little one
The Butterfly smiled
