Small Wars In Paradise

"Small Wars in Paradise"
A small war in paradise where the walls are dripping hearts pinned with golden words A ghost behind the eyes of a Fate shines a light on the self-righteous misinformed deux Moirai, advocatus diaboli - what remains, The Devil’s Advocates blinded in the eye the dull intentioned Assizes Intervention comes at a small cost for the Soul they think is lost Tomorrow always delivers, The Goods. Small wars in Paradise where sharp swords cut blunt forked tongues beating tattoos in time to a betrayal of trust a banshee assassin it’s a relative choice Won Lost A ghost behind the eyes haunts the hallowed halls of manipulative minds holding black diamonds and spades digging what was, is now dust in both hands bloodied, murdering the past one day at a time slowly smiling holding the crass dead in a deep holed heart now becomes the smoking refined blunderbust executing sentences orchestral manouvres in a dark knight mind a banshee assassin it’s a relative choice The Woman Won The Past Lost all in good time... "In those times when we are feeling shipwrecked and alone, the dark waters of despair threatening to pull us under - in those desperate moments, we somehow find something to grab hold of, to stay afloat. Perhaps a song, or poem. A kind gesture from a stranger, or a wildflower growing up through cracked cement. It is these small signs, which speak to us in quiet voices, letting us know that we are not alone, and that perhaps, just maybe - everything will be okay in the end."

Betrayal. Condemnation. Innocence. Kangaroo Court. Boundaries. Choosing wrong sides (absolutely ... choosing wrong sides). Survival. Legacies.

"The women whom I love and admire for their strength and grace, did not get that way because sh** worked out. They got that way because sh** went wrong, and they handled it. They handled it, in a thousand different ways, on a thousand different days, but they handled it. Those women - are my Super Heroes."

"Agency and Emotion of Young Female Accusers in the Salem Witchcraft Trials"
Labyrinth Avatar

"This article utilises emotions theory to explore the actions and behaviour of the young female accusers in the Salem witchcraft trials. It argues common historical interpretation of this behaviour has largely ignored the cultural context of witchcraft belief among young women, as well how agency and emotion functioned in the courtroom setting. By comparing the physical and emotional reactions of the young Salem accusers with other cases of young female bewitchment across England and New England, I argue this behaviour was a cultural response to witchcraft which imbued young female accusers with unprecedented cultural power and agency."

In the end the woman always wins...don't you agree ?

That's your take on it. This is a poem written specifically for the Fates (there are 3 to be precise). More like a war between women. Terrible, disgraceful, court process (or lack thereof), during the Assizes. Many of the accusers/witness for prosecution were not men, but women. Children were used to condemn their mothers and in some cases, entire families. In some cases, sisters condemned sisters. One could argue the feminist perspective that witch-hunting was a man's game, but women condemned other women, for eg, as noted in the Salem Witch Trials. The woman does not always win. Innocence does not always win.
