They were never waiting for us girl.
They were one step ahead
though they never had a case.
Between the streets and highways
they would chase
and hunt us down like rats
just to put us "in our place."
Minneapolis is trending in the news,
all the big bad ICE men going round,
looking for some brown folks to detain.
I don't think that they will make it
'cause the people just won't take it
and they won't put up with hooligans again.
Oh no.
I recall the winter’s chilling wind
coming like a wave
in the air and round the stalls.
The children and the babies
snatched from hands
and the old folks wandering dazed
by the mall.
Minneapolis is trending in the news,
all the big bad ICE men going round,
looking for some Asians to detain.
I don't think that they will make it
'cause the people just won't take it
and they won't put up with ruffians again.
Oh no.
There will be another home for me
and I will seek it.
There will be another dream for me
and I will feel it.
I will drink the wine of liberty
and never let you catch me
facing down a gun.
And after all the times in my life,
after all the times of my life
I'll know I have won.
I will take my life into my hands
and I will live it.
I will win the respect in their eyes
or I will lose it.
I will have the freedom I desire
and my fervor flow like waters
by and by.
And after all the times in my life,
after all the times of my life
I will be forgetting them
and never ask why.
Minneapolis is trending in the news,
all the big bad ICE men going round,
looking for Somalis to detain.
I don't think that they will make it
'cause the people just won't take it
and they won't put up with treachery again.
Oh no.
Honeysuckle trees have grown all over my yard
What can I do with this? Being a bard….
I counted the ones that are the easiest to see
They came into our house and commandeered our TV
Now a gang, they have a mascot and are wearing colors
We are just the start one told me. There are many others.
They demanded I make them a breakfast buffet.
My husband asked me “when are they going away?”
My writing muse tells me next to nothing, so I could not reply.
I am hoping these trees get tired of TV by and by.
They are watching Matlock now, as I fix them lunch.
Make it salty, a honeysuckle said to me, and make it crunch.
I was hiking in the hills, and I was talking to the air
when a fork in the path, took me first here,... and then, there
Prickly thickets, were aflame with brilliant crimson,
entrapping my feet, with a pin-cushion prison
The foxgloves too, grew in mass profusion
My head in a state of blind confusion
Granite rocks were wearing saffron, golden
Clouds up above, blending, enfolding
The hills were hidden in the cloudy mist
The mountains were turning deep amethyst
Dilemma lay ahead in my all my decisions
I stumbled along, without much precision
Grass bending low, between the boulders
Gulls screamed higher, wind getting colder
I would forge on ahead, over ditches and water,
as the ebb of the day, was getting darker and darker
There was a fork, in the trail near a sage scrub tree
where the needles on the ground, wore a carpet lined with weeds,
The pine was tethered in its place by the rust-red sky,
Brown and dead at the top, where a crow was sitting by
~
On long ago nights, when we sat by the lamp
I remembered one tale, that had come from my Gramps
The fastest way home was......as the crow flies
So I waited, awhile, .......He led me home, by and by

With this day a love has grown from the night before
Jesus has come and without further ado He's knocking at the door
The stage is set for one last stand all looking at one another in surprise
What have we done, what will we do with Christ gone from our eyes
Out of place a soothing voice utters "Look over here it is quite clear
This Bridge will be our path to Heaven above" I say with a cheer
The angels applaud, and we laud for another soul is saved
Damned hypocrites, men's diorism shows when they feel kind of pious
As God looks on His anger must rage, "Why can't they get it right?!"
Severed from His majesty until He returns from the beyond
By and by must suffice while to and fro Satan trods
As sudden as God spoke Creation's words, the trumpet begins to sound
With His royal cavalry His promises resounds
Written in this candlelight by antiquity's scribes
As promised in His billet doux, a love letter to all alive
One day, not long ago, I was careening
like a kite on the winds of happiness
twirling through spaces of days that shone through all dark clouds.
Muddy puddles were beneath me, but they were far beneath.
My Sunshiny days evaporated the puddles,
yet always mud remains,
and from the mud a shadow form took shape.
It never seems to fail. . .
I’ll have almost reached the summit of my bliss,
a loopy kite somersaulting through blue sky
when by and by. .. the shadow form I’ve managed to pretend
I do not see has risen from the mud, awaiting me.
Bad luck, like a thunder clap, attacked my happy sky.
Joy’s buoyancy lost its grip on me. I slipped
plunging to the frigid ground -
again to be in disappointment’s shadow.

SEASONS AND LEAVES
The bright green leaves of Summer beam,
Vacation's here and so's ice cream,
Let's all go boating in the stream,
Life's beautiful in sunshine's dream;
The gilded leaves of Autumn sigh,
Shedding their beauty by and by,
Buds have slipped off, branches are dry,
Colourful life can bid goodbye;
The silver leaves of Winter dance,
Under the whitened sky's romance,
Snowflakes have held us in a trance,
Pallid is life's colourless stance;
The soft new leaves of Spring do sing,
There's life around, freshness and zing,
Fair flowers and blushing buds do bring
Sparkles to life and great rejoicing.

I am awakened
In a new Witness
I am bought with a price
God has been dealing with me but yet
And still instilled, I'm blessed
By his mercies and Grace
One day I may see His face
In the abundance
a morsel of his love
on the other side, I'll be gone
from this realm by and by
I'll be amongst the Stars
as gravity has lifted me in a twinkling of an eye
I'll be I'll fly, I'll be renewed, I'll be on the other side
God is my promise. Jesus is the one the promised
My eternal life and Glory so inturned
I majestically witnessed. I will reserve myself
to be Heaven blessed in the twinkling of an eye

TRIBUTARY according to Merriam-Webster:
1 : a stream feeding a larger stream or a lake
2 : a ruler or state that pays tribute to a conqueror
Revival under the big tent,
a paradigm of revelation,
a simple message:
death’s but an open eye for life.
A candlelight service
that goes on and on with friends,
new ones made unto the great by and by.
Burning bright ever bright!
Billy Graham sees God’s work
that was placed in his hands
for a very long season, in mortal years.
Many young now learn his name.
Who now shall race the eternal flame?
God looks upon earth
for a willing soul —
a jewel in the making,
to toil in this tattered tapestry,
spurring on its loveliness.
Billy Graham must be eulogized,
but not for his name’s sake,
but for the kingdom to come —
the one of His Father.
Ears open wide for a snuff?
Or will the ears of your heart ring
in anticipation, remain
in the open arms of love?

John 3:16 NIV — For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.
Goddamn smartass squirrel goes through a window and starts slapping a plush toy.
Turning it over and over.
"You got jacked, !"
Up on its attention antennae, sealed in clover.
Up for all comers, winters and summers,
Springing into Fall cover.
Wiggle haunch, loose and clean, limber and mean. Mouse on his motorcycle meets mean Joe Greene.
Who's next?
Better get me some treats, sweetums!
Chew for my cheeks to expand a winning smile from.
Or I will have to open up my cute box for some
serious mind control, or nutsack, sodium snack (while you sleep.)
Through your window, balls deep, spread-eagle attack, sa la vie!
Maybe I'm a joker launched by the dealer of air.
Dealing a poker face behind, treeline stairs.
Aces high, rattatatat, fooey.
Watching your reactions the whole time.
Time you lose track of where I'm at in your mind.
(Birds ain't feeling just-safe next to us at the park!
They're picking up tips to get their nut, while playing a part.)
And how you get your nut really is an art.
A breed apart, like cats that squat at look innocent
in the outback at PetSmart.
Yeah, birds of a feather, Woodpeckers
are watching as they drumroll together.
The next sideby of your mind's eye.
By and by
Fluffy tales of banditry and diversion, ensues.
Maybe next time you will slow down on that dirt road, cruise.
You've been nutted by the best my friend.
Peace.
Of mind.
Picnics and youth.
Sideshows of the divine.Send.
Runners of the gathering, enroute,
to where your eyes keep and time spends,
your focus, to mesmerificalcarnivaltrifical-ends,
shaping truth.
Ever around us, now they surround us.
This one evening of foul festival fuss.
dance with the ghosts
sing with our dead hosts
Toward the Styx we quickly schuss.
Ravens crawl and snakes fly,
goonies have only one good eye.
ghosts will haunt us
and goblins taunt us
Soon we’ll meet our fate by and by.
Secrets of rats and blind bats,
werewolves wild, and familiar cats.
zombies dragging through mud
kill, then drink the blood
while witches wave magic hats.
Cemeteries live with haints and shades,
psychotic killers wielding sharp blades.
no time for a stroll
time to pay the toll
Finality floats as the night fades.
