Your voice is a traditional broken flute,
Music from a time gone by,
And the music your voice sings to me,
Leaves me asking why,

Is your beauty a thing that’s broken down,
A painted on tear drop,
Why is your life a complete story,
With a tear as its full stop,

When all I see, feel, taste and hear,
Is magic from your song,
From the dark to gentle to mellow and soft,
Your music makes me strong,

I love the beauty that’s in your broken,
I love your tender torn apart,
I love your beautiful broken flute,
You’re music to my heart.

Helpless

Helpless, broken by the bitter dreams of life
a lovers soul, shattered by conflicting dreams of strife
the fathers needs, outweighed by broken love
God made man with arms of love to give

Trapped, the broken dreams of yesterday revealed
work the crucifix of life's impending doom
demands, the legacy of broken souls
God made man with arms of love to give

Sometimes the battle's of a broken world
demand a ransom men can seldom pay
sometimes the locks of doors are broken wide
God made man with arms of love to give

from realms of broken dreams we crawl and grow
the shadows of the broken heart we know
yet from the depths of pain we love again
God made man with arms of love to give.

Lost

Silent moments,
only my thoughts before me,
visions of yesterdays gone,
visions of lost love gone and never found.
The memories once clear,
now twisted and scarred with age.
How time slips away!
How life does, too!

Youth...impetuous and virile,
like worn-out clothing
no longer fits like a glove,
but the yearning never ceases.
Do we ever get over broken love?
Do we really know why
it all goes so very wrong?
Can I ever forget true love?
One chance seems so unfair,
a lifetime of haunting memories...
Will they ever fade?
Damn her! Damn me!

The Other Side

Those of us who have crossed over to the other side of death and returned….
Carry a certain sadness, a certain longing to be in heaven where peace abounds…
The evil one knows of this sorrow we all carry deep within our hearts…
He taunts us with discouraging thoughts and scenes of broken love affairs and marriages…
Making us think love & happiness is well beyond our reach….
He feeds those insecurities, like a voraciousness beast until all that is left is a deep longing and great sadness….
The great sadness turns into apathy, then we walk around emotionless….
You see us everyday looking off into the distance because that is where our hearts are…
Forever lost in the distant sky…..

As a soft spring breeze gently kisses my face.
My heart is tender from a broken embrace.
This broken love makes sorrows and I cry.
I am the only lover in this that tries.
I must leave, for the pain I cannot bear.
Now I will live alone with no one to share.

Beauty all around me is what I see.
But darkness now surrounds me where I cannot be.
I will embrace it and I will pass away.
I cry and cry in deep sobs as I die today.
A wonder of life appeared to me this day.
My wonderful friend came by and stayed.
He called for help to save my life.
But my rescuers I gave them nothing but strife.
Doctors said to my mother that my stomach is empty.
My Aunt prayed and prayed for me to have a life of Plenty.

As the Dawn of a new life comes rebirth
And now the snow withdraws from this Earth.
Spring came in and gave beauty to this dreary place
My heart is reborn of awe and wonder to know this grace
Now I live and look at the Miracle of Life that is given to me.
With this new outlook at the circle of life I begin to see.

A Broken Love

When the time comes you have to break a heart.
Forever you said we would never part.
And in my mind. I believed you would stay.
I will always find the forgiveness for your sins.
But the piece of you in my heart has wane away.
And the cost is too great to ever let sway.
The way we were. day after day.
If time could heal I am sure it would.
But the time I gave was always too much.
You were my life my blood my soul.
What you ripped away was never good.
My anger is strong and the memory long.
You will never put right what you did wrong.
But you didn’t just hurt me! You almost destroyed me.
Its not your fault you were made this way.
Never should it have been. I or you but simply we.
I know really your good. But nothing will change if I stay.
Its been a long time since we loved. many a year.
I heard not so long ago a tale which gave me fear.
That you were near death my heart did cry.
I wanted to forgive you before the end.
For I still hold a small love for you.
Even if it is just to be your friend.
You have been gone a while.
When I think of the good times I smile.
Maybe in a new life we will be together.
Maybe thats what they mean when they say
Love never ends it lasts forever.

Broken

I heard a phrase
Broken Crayons
Still Color
So I take a shade of blue
And sprinkle it on a better version of me
You see
If a crayon still breaks
It can still create a master piece
Each line
Is filled in
Where do I begin
A broken ?? piece
Can be put back together
It may require some work
To move pass the triumphs to get pass the hurt
The crayons still create beauty
From different shades
That are being displayed
Broken Hearts
Still mend
Broken friendships
Can be fixed
Broken records
Can be remixed
Broken vessels
Can be repumped
Broken love
Can be unbroken
Generational curses
Can be changed
Mindsets can't be blamed
It's time for a change
Don't stay the same
Just grow
It's your season
Time to show
Show the world
Who's been waiting
With your dreams
Continue to chase them
With regrets
Don't keep having them
You are amazing and extragravant
Above all
When the name greatest
Your name is called
Take the crayons
Make a mural
You are amazing
That's for sure
You are the cure
To a cureless situation
You are a healing for a nation who need help
You are the awareness to a world that has kept
Kept falling
Live in your purpose
The Lord is calling
For you to be all you can be
Be Great , we all can relate
This is true
Be the best color , be you
Paint the picture
Doesn't mean the picture is perfect
But in the end it will all be worth it

Broken Love Slam

How did it come to this
I told you by mail I wasn't piss.
You sure where acting all up into me
Now its over suddenly
You are more than a best friend
Opening my door with one touch from your hand
My thoughts of you are not easy to understand
hmm? Now your like whatever man
That is fine it was not my fault

Never in my wildest dream I ever imagined,
You could give me the best thought out of anything
that comes along my way.
Happiness does not mean I want to posses everything
Happiness is the smile you bring upon my face
You do not have to be by my side to kiss me goodnight
Once you logoff it like the best conversation to ever ignite.

Do you not recall that one simple song.
"Don't know what you got till its gone."
The truth is,
I did not know what I was missing till I met you.
How about that song,
"Every rose has it's thorn."
Just like the song (yes) it feels wrong.
Being many miles away and alone,
I am not searching out for looks,
For what so at the end day he will be an empty book.
Better yet I was not searching to please my heart.
Now you filled it with smiles brought from many miles apart
I can feel your smiles,
that is why I always reply to you as My Sweet.

You might not be strong enough to believe in hope,
You edge walker makes me wonder if you are even human.
It's just funny how it took you to make my boat float.
Life lesson learned love starts off with many smiles
Buy the time I hit 100 smiles,
you are all I am think of.
I will sure miss them e-kisses, I will hold back the tears.
How about them roses, you would whispers in my ears.
I will end my broken love slam.
With the real message I left for you.
You are what you are, and I am who I am
Life allows us to pass the wrong ones first.
We both fell for eachother, now I wonder what the heck am I cursed.

I’m No Poet

I know the best
poetry is
suppose to live in
broken love,
death, regret,
and fear of facing
another tomorrow.
Those things
that drag emotion
across the heart,
or stab
you in the brain,
with
pain and
sorrow.

But has there ever been a poet
that’s not known
such tragedy,
has no knowledge of heartbreak,
been hurt or wronged
because he didn't fit a mold.
Whose stomach
is always full,
never had to
sleep in the cold.
One that has loved
without regret
never had to beg
or borrow.

Call me a
presenter of possibilities
mediator of metaphor
encourager of exaggerations
implementor of imagination
or facilitator of fakery
but
I am no poet

Sleepless Lullaby

A spic and span barren bed,
soft pillow with blanket spread.
You're tired and bored, all hackneyed.
Ready to sleep, drop down dead.

But...a vigilant mind..alive in dread.
cacophony..chaos..thoughts unsaid.
Another sleepless night ahead?

Head and heart throbs, like burning cigarettes
Broken love haunts, rude taunts and threats.
Throttled throat breathes, playback cassetes.
Silent tears douse, debts and regrets.

There lies the pillow, waiting to get wet.

That pillow.....so much you miss ..
Where Santa hid .....those gifts of bliss.
An angel mom blew goodnight kiss.
The pillow fights of sweet reminisce.
Now all ruffled,.. restless,.. whimpers hiss

Somnolent sombre eyes,
in endless rhythm eulogize..
A Sleepless Lullaby....
Dawn bids night goodbye....
