Helpless

Helpless, broken by the bitter dreams of life
a lovers soul, shattered by conflicting dreams of strife
the fathers needs, outweighed by broken love
God made man with arms of love to give

Trapped, the broken dreams of yesterday revealed
work the crucifix of life's impending doom
demands, the legacy of broken souls
God made man with arms of love to give

Sometimes the battle's of a broken world
demand a ransom men can seldom pay
sometimes the locks of doors are broken wide
God made man with arms of love to give

from realms of broken dreams we crawl and grow
the shadows of the broken heart we know
yet from the depths of pain we love again
God made man with arms of love to give.

Bernard - I second Cyndi's comment! You most defifitely captured the feeling...I have writte quite a few that are similar to this. The only difference being each verse is five lines and the first four are monorhymes - Tim

Congratulations on your win, Bernard. Though you broke the rhyme scheme, you captured the feeling of helplessness quite well. Cyndi
