A Broken Love
When the time comes you have to break a heart.
Forever you said we would never part.
And in my mind. I believed you would stay.
I will always find the forgiveness for your sins.
But the piece of you in my heart has wane away.
And the cost is too great to ever let sway.
The way we were. day after day.
If time could heal I am sure it would.
But the time I gave was always too much.
You were my life my blood my soul.
What you ripped away was never good.
My anger is strong and the memory long.
You will never put right what you did wrong.
But you didn’t just hurt me! You almost destroyed me.
Its not your fault you were made this way.
Never should it have been. I or you but simply we.
I know really your good. But nothing will change if I stay.
Its been a long time since we loved. many a year.
I heard not so long ago a tale which gave me fear.
That you were near death my heart did cry.
I wanted to forgive you before the end.
For I still hold a small love for you.
Even if it is just to be your friend.
You have been gone a while.
When I think of the good times I smile.
Maybe in a new life we will be together.
Maybe thats what they mean when they say
Love never ends it lasts forever.
