In this day of break ups and divorce
is marriage for life really possible?
can two people really live in harmony?
to start with let's get sensible
Any two people will have differences
no two persons can be the same
so we all need to be realistic
be not quick to cast the blame
Make sure you truly love each other
wanting to live with this person for ever
willing to put up with each other
always willing to be the giver
When apart wishing to be together
treasuring each moment that you share
wishing the best for each other
give your all in loving tender care
They'll be times of doubt and fall outs
but this will test if its real love
for deep persevering love will overcome
refusing temptation to take a shove
Real lasting love together
will no matter what overcome and defeat
with peace and contentment shared together
will be for each other a life long treat
Here we ago again. You tell me you're not sure
Don't know what you're feeling. I've heard this all before.
You have my heart in limbo. What am I doing wrong?
Why am I not enough for you? Why am holding on?
CHORUS
Times up. I'm done with waiting. C'mon make up your mind
Are we going somewhere? Or do I leave this far behind
If you're not sure you love me. Then what are we doing here
Tell the truth. Just say it.
Be transparent.
Crystal Clear
Do you mean it when you kiss me. Is this only in my head?
This evening's entertainment lying in your bed
The way you touch my body makes me feel you really care
Is this real or just illusion. I see something that's not there
CHORUS
BRIDGE:
Done with your indecision This isnt fair to me
Gonna do myself a favor let go and set you free.
Rather be alone than with someone who isnt sure
You lead my heart on long enough. Wont take it anymore.
CHORUS:
TImes up im done with waiting. I just made up my mind
This is going nowhere. Gonna leave it far behind.
If you're not sure you want me then I'm not staying here.
Its over babe Im leaving.
Hope I made that Crystal Clear.
He talks and acts accordingly
On his beliefs and visions
He spans through successes
Failures and break-ups
He embarks on countless trips
To the realm of ideas
And crystallizes them
To profit the system
He tends.
He has direct-dial button
To the souls and aspirations
Of his followers
He is always running
Since he knows
Time is ticking and fleeting...
He constantly cites
The latest need for the system
And when running floods of ideas
Begin to level off
He is there to put the best spin
On the buttons.
The running floods of ideas
Never tire rather fires him
Into churning out projects
With crystal streams of resounding successes.
Though feuds and controversies may rise
He remains undaunted in
Actualising his vision and ideas.
A true visionary is centuries ahead of his time...
And indeed a “COLOSSUS”
Relationships are special
Where break ups are rough.
The reasons you loved them
Become why you leave.
A special bond shared,
Destroyed from the roots.
You become haunted
By what you both shared.
Where once lay adoration
Turns to resentment
Of two souls who
Once promised each other the world.
You can’t hear your favourite song
Without thinking of them.
Every place that you go
Is tainted with their scent.
Dancing in the rain
Is now too intimate for you.
When the sky pours,
You no longer feel happy.
There’s the absence of clothes
In the other half of the cupboard.
Only your shoes
Sit in the doorway.
Your regular waitress
Hands you your coffee.
‘It’s on me,’
Said with pity.
The taste of your food
Is nothing but bland.
He took all the spices
That belonged in your kitchen.
The bookshelf is empty
And you don’t know why.
There’s only one book
But you were the reader.
It’s highlighted and marked,
With notes in the margins.
You’re donating it;
It hurts too much to read.
There’s no food in the fridge—
But that’s a lie.
There’s food in the fridge,
Just too much for you.
The milk is expired.
When last did you drink?
He was the coffee person
Every morning at six.
You stare at your phone
With an unintended hope.
It's not going to ring;
He won't be calling again.
You tear off the poems
Lining your bedroom walls.
Toss out clothes
You have no reason to wear.
(They’re too big anyway.)
Your hair is too short.
Bob to your chin.
It makes you look old
And the blond doesn’t help.
Your roots are showing,
But you can’t wait.
You just want to dye it.
It wasn’t a look you wanted.
You find your face wet,
Lay in the cold of the bed.
You’re alone
And nothing will ever be the same.
Inspired by 'Cut my hair hair' by Mico.
Not very humble but I dare say out loud -
There is something about me of which I’m proud.
That’s not what I asked for, much less than I sought -
Iron clad patience I was patently taught.
So much by my parents, more so by my friends,
A lot by my husbands through break ups and mends.
I considered I was quite well equipped til
My girls, taking over the throne, bent my will.
I, from that fresh irreversible point on
Participated in patience marathon.
Note, that in that blind-sided, nerve-racking run
In full compliance I was the only one.
The first lesson taught in a blink of an eye -
Life was neither ‘bout me, nor myself, nor I.
A brand new concept was born - “at any price”,
Under sophisticated name “sacrifice”.
(And no, no compromise)
While braiding hair and cuddling I had no clue,
Grownup daughters’ ups and downs would be mine too.
Three of them, plus me, plus hectic hormones’ kick -
Ride to hell and back, never mind thin and thick.
Long run didn’t run out of patience punning -
My girls grew up and I grew old - still running!
P.S.
Patience paid off, it excelled with my offspring -
Now my grandkids get away with everything!

Everybody's been threw it
bad relationships, make ups and break ups
but I been dreaming long enough
I finally had to wake up
I'm ready for that everlasting love
that God promised me since birth
to live is to suffer especially when you
been threw years of emotional hurt.
I'm ready to dedicate myself to that special woman
back rubs, massages, to them candle lit dinners
slow jams, holding hands, wedding bands
this here is real talk & I'm a grown man
I'm one man & all I need is one special lady
someone I can introduce to my mom
and my homeboys and say yeah thats my baby.
I'm ready for love & when she finds me
I hope she's ready for me
I been in bondage long enough
look into my eyes, I'm waiting
for that special woman to set me free
I know love ain't easy but trust & believe
I'm tired of being lonely
I'm patiently waiting to meet my
soul mate so we can live in holy matrimony
Two hearts surrender
To what can no longer be
A ravaged heart self-deceived
Desire out of breath
Passion’s fever now grows cold
Our words have fallen silent
Grief akin to pain
Surrendering forever
Past the point of no return.

contest : Relationship Break-ups
We’ve been apart for a while now
Chasing after all things new
But there’s no gettin’ round it babe
The one I’m still looking for is you
All my friends try to tell me
What’s meant to be is meant to be
And break ups happen for a reason
But what if that reason was me
Why can’t we roll the dice again
I wanna go back to who we were back when
The good times far outweighed the bad I’d give the world for what we had
It’s hard to breathe at the corner of miss you boulevard and lonely street
Baby if there’s someone new now
Can you let him know his dance is done
Cause if your heart is feelin’
What I feel imagine what we could become
Why can’t we roll the dice again
I wanna go back to who we were back when
The good times far outweighed the bad I’d give the world for what we had
It’s hard to breathe at the corner of miss you boulevard and lonely street
Why can’t we roll the dice again
I wanna go back to who we were back when
The good times far outweighed the bad I’d give the world for what we had
It’s hard to breathe at the corner of miss you boulevard and lonely street
Experiencing life discovering how love works
learning from past choices and mistakes
accepting how life ebbs and flow fluctuates
not allowing the heart stagnate from break-ups
moving on can be hard and painful, but vital
love don't suppose to hurt, rejection do
whether unconditional or conditional love
heartbroken proceed on, you will heal
those feelings can leave deep wounds
don't let it consume your heart space
know you did your best at those time
your unforgivable love will be missed
love is powerful, yet hard to come by
you are born with its natural force
that's why you can do it all over again
again and again and again and again.
The anatomy of poetry is a glimpse
Into the dark and the light
Shadows of a rainbow form a
Composition that makes up the rain and the sunshine
Every rhyme of poetry is a
A glimpse in the dark and the light!
At times Life can be so cold
It opens up platforms to be bold
Break ups and shake-ups
All that matters is that I wake up and
Understand that everything is for a season!
Pushing myself beyond
The borders of time and
Floating through the realms of the rainbow
Gives me a reason to appreciate life and
Understand the orientations of purpose!
The abundance of emotion
Like silver and gold
Taught me the accuracy of being bold while
Pushing myself beyond the borders of time!
Floating through the realms of Life
Gives me a reason to appreciate time and
Understand the orientations of my own sanity awakening
The fact that every rhyme of poetry is a glimpse in the dark and the light!
