Something About Me
Not very humble but I dare say out loud - There is something about me of which I’m proud. That’s not what I asked for, much less than I sought - Iron clad patience I was patently taught. So much by my parents, more so by my friends, A lot by my husbands through break ups and mends. I considered I was quite well equipped til My girls, taking over the throne, bent my will. I, from that fresh irreversible point on Participated in patience marathon. Note, that in that blind-sided, nerve-racking run In full compliance I was the only one. The first lesson taught in a blink of an eye - Life was neither ‘bout me, nor myself, nor I. A brand new concept was born - “at any price”, Under sophisticated name “sacrifice”. (And no, no compromise) While braiding hair and cuddling I had no clue, Grownup daughters’ ups and downs would be mine too. Three of them, plus me, plus hectic hormones’ kick - Ride to hell and back, never mind thin and thick. Long run didn’t run out of patience punning - My girls grew up and I grew old - still running! P.S. Patience paid off, it excelled with my offspring - Now my grandkids get away with everything! March 23, 2023 Sponsor: Jaymee Thomas Contest: Expertise
