Male Space

The study all alone,
in the corner of the home,
where a man can think,
reflect and have a drink,
be free of charging kids,
of daily cares be rid,
read what ancients say,
this is a male space.

In the wood with a gun,
tracking deer that run,
putting his wits and wiles
up against the wild,
Field-dressing the game
in frozen winter rain,
embracing primal days,
feeling the male space.

On the battle field,
the consequences real,
has to take it all,
or is doomed to fall.
Gunning down the foe,
ever harsh to know,
sometimes you have to hate,
it’s part of the male space.

In office or board-room,
facing ruin and doom,
competing for a prize,
Struggling to get by,
it’s always looking grim,
yet he plays to win,
his family must be safe,
he stays in the male space.

Ye olde barber shop,
blades Ol’ Charlie strops,
shaving with straight-edge
his best customer Fred.
chewing over local news,
the good stuff and the blues,
away from the rat race,
here in the male space.

Dimly-lit gentlemen’s club,
up against him she rubs,
sells him simplicity,
an illusion for a fee.
For a moment he is sane,
not trying to play the game,
she throws them in his face,
He loves this male space.

Some say it has to go,
like the men’s clubs of old,
their ideology demands
that of men they are no fans,
they forget we undergo
troubles they’ll never know,
to bring up boys that rate,
you’ve got to have male space.

If not, boys lose control,
don’t live to grow old,
with no male sanctuary
they gang-bang on the street,
Oo they have worse luck,
become pansy, Beta-cucks,
with no pride and no place…
better to have male space.

These twelve acres are mine,
out in the country-side,
to teach my son things
a man should be knowing,
to hunt, to think, to drive,
to fake being civilized,
won’t leave it up to fate,
don’t tread on my male space.

The dawn of new hope
By Michelle Morris
05/08/2024

Hark, the dawn breaks
See the blushing of the horizon
Being revealed slowly and deliberately
Caressed and worshipped and adored

Hear the birds sing sweetly
A tribute to her beauty
That golden orb rises
Like a man in his prime walks tall

Every single atom and wave in this Universe
Converges on this moment
The dawn of new hope
As Nature leads humanity forward

"An ekphrastic poem is a vivid description of a scene or, more commonly, a work of art. Through the imaginative act of narrating and reflecting on the “action” of a painting or sculpture, the poet may amplify and expand its meaning."

Stephanie Millward

Just after diagnosis with MS,
Stephanie took injections,
Beta interferon injections,
Which saw her to Beijing.

She was originally, in the past,
A British team swimmer,
A really good swimmer,
So she continued on in the Paras.

2010 and the World Champs,
Held in the city of Eindhoven,
In Holland, where lies Eindhoven,
Holland is also called the Netherlands.

There Stephanie won five silvers,
Plus one very sure bronze,
Proud of that bronze,
So she qualified for the Euros.

2011 and in Berlin, DE,
Stephanie won three golds,
Add two silvers onto these golds,
To get the result.

At the London Paralympics,
Stephanie won four silvers,
Three were individual silvers,
Plus one 4x100m relay bronze.

In 2013, the Worlds, Montreal,
Golds: Stephanie won four,
Her prides came to four,
Plus one shining silver.

Then 2014 at the Euros,
In Eindhoven she sealed six golds,
Add one silver onto these golds,
And also one bronze.

In Rio Stephanie won two more golds,
One for the 100m backstroke,
No more an S9, now S8 backstroke,
And one for the 4x100m medley relay.

Premium Member Doc, These Pills Are Killin' Me

Seems each time I visit my doc he recommends more pills for my health!

I'm not sure they're effective but this I know, they're depletin' my wealth!

And with all the side effects, I'm really concerned about my early doom!

"He expired from excessive medications!" might aptly be etched upon my tomb!

The list is endless - Diuretics, Beta Blockers, Nexium, Advil and Tylenol,

Alpha Blockers, Vitamin D, Zantac, Zocor, Micardis and a bit of Timolol,

Carisoprodol, Hydrocholorothiazide, Alphagan, Moltrin and Fosamax,

Hydroxyzine, Caltrate, Phillips Milk of Magnesia and some Atarax!

The black-box warnings say I could suffer everything from dehydration,

To blurred vision, dizziness, diahrea and a serious case of constipation!

My Pa seldom saw a doc and lived to the ripe old age of ninety-four!

He survived by sippin' SSS Blood Tonic and usin' horse linamint for

His aches and pains and other such stuff peddled by the Watkins Man!

I may toss the bottles and use his home-remedies to increase life's span!

Appropriate This

I was walking down to the taco joint
wearing my new conical Chinese hat,
I looked how it looked, it gave me some flair,
but some beta-hipster took issue with that.

He stalked up and said,”It’s people like you
who are holding us back as a nation!
Do you not realize how offensive that ?
It’s cultural appropriation!”

I rolled my yes and weight if I wanted
to take the time now to deal with this crap,
betting the fool wouldn’t have raised a fuss
if I’d worn my Oktoberfest cap.

But when I saw the man’s smug scowl
there was no question what I would do,
said,”Before we talk about my hat,
we should first see the problems in you.

“I see that you’re wearing denim jeans,
and denim first came from fair Italy,
so unless you are an Italian man
you better drop them right here in the street.

“And there upon you shirt, a name and a number,
don’t you know our numbers are Arabic?
And since you clearly are not an Arab,
you’re wearing of them makes me quite sick!

“And the worlds sprawled across all your clothing,
spelled out in the Latin alphabet…
Unless you’re Roman you shouldn’t wear that,
what the hell is going on in your head?

“You know now that I come to think of it,
Democracy was thought up by the Greeks,
as you’re not one, you shouldn’t be voting,
unless insulting them is what you seek.

“And don’t even think about eating corn,
the First Americans invented it,
it’s part of their culture, so if you care
never again eat a tortilla chip!

“Or you could just grow the hell on up,
cultures borrow from others all the time,
they’re not a straight jacket, they always adapt
to the ever-changing challenge of time.”

I stopped and stared at the man’s angry face,
I figured even he must get the gist,
instead he scowled harder somehow,
cried,”You nothing more then a damn fascist!”

In no mood to waste anymore of my life,
I sighed and walked away from that twit,
appropriated some crunchy tacos,
and stayed up late watching Samurai flicks.

Premium Member Crackers For Carrots

If carrots peeled for dipping, cut in strips
could keep their beta-carotene, yet taste
like crackers Ritz when placed upon my lips,
What bliss! But they do not. Ah! - such a waste!

And if that low-fat yogurt which they're dipped in
Were luscious onion-flavored sour cream;
and if instead of water I sipped sin-
a frothy shake the flavor of my dream;
Oh, what nectar on my tongue that I would feel
if everything nutritious tasted sweet,
and dull or nasty foods could just taste real
like melted cheese, potatoes fried or meat.

If only what I hated tasted good,
I'd diet not, but eat all that I could!

Just a silly oldie from my dieting days!!!

Premium Member Theta Rythms 'Never Trust Your Cape'

I set off in search of the great theta rhythm
Trav'lin' alone full of promise and hope
I stumbled and swore I'd ignore frustration
Soldiering on to the Cape Where I Cope

Uniform firm on my shoulder I wore it
Proudly displaying the emblem and drape
Holding fast to the pledge as I swore it
Firmly believing in the cope of good cape

I didn't know as the waves washed o'er me
Should a remnant survive, stay alive to reach home
One never knows when you start on this journey
Where you'll end up, if you'll still be alone

Alpha, Beta, Gamma, Delta swelled and yelled, "Be careful there!"
But undaunted Psyche taunted, "Never back down from a dare."
I tiptoed round with Psyche leaving Cupid with the bill
But swimming round the Maelstrom left this mess brimming in me

Beauty beckons me there in the dawning
Fawning daunting ego is where
Trepidation fills up the yawning
Maw where fools ignore the stare

Glaring oversight is now blooming
Looming on the precipace where
False bravado becomes all-consuming
And brave though knavely soldiers there

Fast the waves come crashing onward
Pressing me toward the shore
When I try to slow the rhythm
There I struggle ever more

Mr Alpha and Master Beta

Mr Alpha and Master Beta
here to put you in your place
after all they know much better
than you with your stupid face

Too much time on their hands
noting you and your ability
challenge you with no chance
better than you’ll ever be

In their head they have no equal
all their friends are lesser people
born with a skillset exceeding all
an uncaring nature that of evil

They see you as controllable
looking to exploit your failures
believing you’re predictable
their overconfident by nature

Boss about because they can
nothing mutual about their plan
thinking you don’t understand
play along get the upper hand

Feeding knowledge pure and true
make them assured in all they do
never return a thing to you
they don’t feel like they need too

Let them feel like Mr Alpha
when really just a Master Beta
the day they’re desperate for a favour
keep saying you’ll help them later

Watch them as they grow inpatient
the disrespect they show to you
attitude that knows no different
say on way though it’s not true

Leave them hanging waiting around
while they expect you to show up
failed expectation confusion found
abandon friendships come unstuck

They thought they were the Alpha
but they’re a Master Beta
they see you as their helper
show them you’re a traitor

180 to My Heart

I once believed that I could never feel love, as everyone would say the words with no soul.
I once believed that I was beyond the Grace of love, as I was not like the others who wore formal attire, but with Converse shoes.
I once believed that I was alone in the storm of the sea. I saw myself like Peter walking onto the water and then sinking. I felt as if my faith was away from me in the wall of the storm.
Every time I wanted to experience the smiles of love, I only felt the slap and spit of the Sunday hypocrites.
THIS WAS THE BEFORE TIME
You entered into my life. It began as casual.
We spoke intently to the point that we both came out of our dark shells. We began to trust again.
Passion through words and deep understanding is what occurred. I am never alone when we speak and hear each other through music, words, and videos.
The Divine is creating the dream of two hearts that have felt long-suffering.
ONLY TIME will tell if this 180 to the heart is pure and the Destiny we both see!
I see and HOPE in the DESTINY, even if it is in WYNTER or Summer. Let it be the WHISPER in the WILLOWs
The wolf in my heart beats for you and feels each time you think. If I were to howl at the moon you would hear the music of my soul connecting to your soul.
Godspeed, my beta wolf, from your Alpha wolf.

Premium Member Upside Down World

I’m not sure exactly when it flipped
It certainly didn’t happen overnight
But the world I live in now
Is upside down from the one I was raised in.

Today criminals, not just the mild ones,
Do what they do with impunity
Knowing they will likely just walk free.
Low trust has replaced high trust
Across the whole world.

First we have the Trump assassination attempt
Which fails by just a hair’s breadth
Not coincidently the first and only rally
Out of hundreds that CNN chose to cover live.

And now in a complete inversion of justice
More than just a few openly
Celebrate Charlie Kirk’s tragic assassination
While wanting to let child murderer
Nurse Clancy just go free.

The cult of death and destruction
(In the guise of “hope and change”)
Has taken over our institutions of learning
Higher and lower, the mainstream media
Entertainment, sports and movies,
So it’s no wonder confusion is the norm.

Today in America the native born
Are second class citizens compared
To the latest tens of millions
Who just poured in illegally,
And the most deranged individuals
Of the tiniest slice of an obscure cult
Get elevated to celebrity status
For being beta boys in alpha girl’s sports.

While regular folks,
Those raised in a different century
Or those wanting to simply raise their children
In a world where common sense
Is something still common,
Have a harder and harder time finding
Where such a world even exists.

In a world turned upside down
In a world without shame
Only the severely imbalanced seem able
To ever find their way.
The rest of US are just too damn furious
To even care, hunkered down in our bunkers,
Waiting, waiting for a world gone wrong
To right itself again.
