Harry, your words were moving
emotions and imagery so approving.

Death does come to all with the last breath flow,
we refuse to accept the void shadow go.

Your life's process anew all over again
to sit with the king among men.

You leave us with a remembrance of your soul.
We will meet again! In God's control.

In our hearts you will always reside, and your poems will live on my friend.

A Date with Milton

Death comes to all like a great shadow,
servant of reality when the truth of it sinks
in leaving the experience embedded on
one’s soul. Milt, given to remembrance
in his lifetime, moments flashing by, when
the congregation gathered to celebrate his
time on earth. But in the book of scrolls
winter is definite in which age must give way
to the new, one, he’d readily give for
the sprinkling of innocence created to start
life’s process all over again, with perpetual
regularity. He would, from behind the thin
veil of Ionna, bless and comfort the unfortunate,
the depressed, the lame of an earthly lifetime in
songs of praise. Leave a recipe for a foregone
conclusion. Auf wiedersehen, we will meet again!

Premium Member Lord God, You Are My Sin-Restrainer

January 6 Relationship to God Bible Meditations Based on Genesis 16-18

Key Verse – Genesis 16:2 … Behold now, the LORD hath restrained me.

LORD GOD, YOU ARE MY SIN-RESTRAINER

Lord God, You are my sin-Restrainer by Your great might
Thank You for forgiving my confessed carnality’s blight
To help me against evil despisings’ insight…
Let me please You with my dealings that are right.

Lord God, You are my sin-Restrainer by Your best way
Thank You for smiting my flight from Your guiding ray
To make me submit under Your reign where I should stay…
Let me remain in Your presence all the day.

Lord God, You are my sin-Restrainer by Your peaceful appearance
Thank You for correcting my non-compliance to Your covenant’s insurance
To lead me seek You along Your gentle forbearance…
Let me cleave unto You while leaning in Your everlasting assurance.

Lord God, You are my sin-Restrainer by Your blessed fruitfulness
Thank You for crashing my doubts about Your set timeliness
To drive me trust Your promises upheld by Your faithfulness…
Let me avoid unbelief causing destructiveness.

Lord God, You are my sin-Restrainer by Your approving eyes
Thank You for smiting my pride of vain exercise
To push me rest myself in Your love and care that suffice…
Let me seek Your comfort from Your words always wise.

Lord God, You are my sin-Restrainer by Your tender mercies
Thank You disciplining my mockery, laughing at Your policies
To train me rely on Your truth, not on fallacies…
Let me rise by Your power from my impotencies.

Lord God, You are my sin-Restrainer by Your perfect justice
Thank You for chastising my unbelief You surely can notice
To move me repent from my unrighteous practice…
Let me obey You gladly while I fulfill Your entrusted duties.

Are You There God- For Contest

Thanks for seeing me, if you please
can I now get up off my knees?
Where do I start? I've made a list
forgive me for the one's I've missed.

Can we go back to '77
when you were in your cosy heaven
whilst down below I watched my Dad
struggle for breath, his lungs gone bad?

Ok, my life then I'll admit
held little faith for quite a bit
I fought daily battles alone
relied not on the great unknown.

When finally he left us all
my heart gave out a silent call
that in some bright celestial light
he finally was now alright.

Is he?

Unaided, can he get along
clear lungs to breathe, give praise in song?
Dull eyes that sometimes shone in mirth
as clear as his first hour since birth?

Eighteen years fast forward now
my link with you rebuilt somehow
as by your rules I tried to live
the bond between us tentative

From ten commandments, maybe six
I got to obey- 'pick 'n mix'
The good stuff I could not resist
was sadly never on your list.

Was that why when I called you Lord
you never offered a reward?
When Mother's health went in decline
you punished all those
sins of mine?

And still that faith, though tattered strands
made me kneel down and clasp my hands
and thank you for final release
and pray that she now rests in peace.

Does she?

With father's hand does she now go
like that old black and white photo,
with wedding veil and beaming smile
down some cherub-lined wedding aisle?

And then my brother, six years on
happened so quickly, and was gone
we soldier on and do our best
while he sleeps in eternal rest.

Or does he?

Have you for him set by a place
where he plays his Fender Jazz Bass?
Making up a group of four
with Lennon, Hendrix, Gary Moore?

Jamming sessions, laying down tracks
free from Cancer and heart attacks
playing to approving nods
from some of music history's Gods.

Sorry, Lord, I know there's only you,
really.

Anyway that's enough from me
you've sat and listened quietly
not judged me which I did expect
and one last thing, Lord-
am I next?

Premium Member I Been Approved

So right before I moved to Texas, the property manager where I was moving to called me and said, “Ms. Dright, I just want to let you know, you’ve been approved.”
Now, as much as I have heard those words before, at that moment and at that time, those words hit my brain different. It was a “Wow” revelation moment. And what was revealed to me was - She’s right, “I BEEN approved.” I been approved wayyy back then, like been.
I been approved, approved by God since birth. So you see, everybody might not know, some just finding out, some might find out later and some may never know, but yeah, “I BEEN approved!”

So next time someone tells you you’ve been approved, just know, they are just now catching up cause you been already knew. And, if there’s ever a time when someone tells you that you are NOT approved, don’t be sad or disappointed, you didn’t do nothing wrong, understand that everything is within the mindset. Guard your mind and shift your thinking to a positive perspective and remember what I said - They don’t know, they haven’t found out yet, and that’s okay, as long as you know. (smile)

Also keep in mind from now on, when they tell you that you are approved, that’s not them approving you, that’s God speaking through them approving you.
And like I said, when you hear you are not approved, don’t get discouraged, that’s only cause God has approved you for something greater that is already in the making. So learn to thank God for the non-approvals as well as the approvals. And trust and believe, it has nothing to do with your credit score or income, it’s ALL God, not man.

Remember, “You BEEN Approved!”

Scintillated

Married into esteem, wet blood of rubies
Eighty one ladybugs jitter over decoletage
Prince winks at my wonderment, approving
Twinkle pink flashes, silk rhubarb mirage

His newest attainment suitably adorned
Heavy with resplendent raspberry prize
Chest rise and fall, cool gems warmed
Youngest addition, other wives despise

Purple swords impale my heart, royal highs
Paraded through market bustle by monarch
Scintillation imprisons many envious eyes
Stones steal attention, status makes its mark

Gliding aside sultan, highlighted in twinkling
Sea side suite seduces snaking strawberry
Lavish lashings threaten to erase my history
Desirable princess flung far from ordinary

Chartered fingers caress coves in rapture
Lustre of pandora fulfills intrigue's voyage
Merged territories weave magic carpet capture
Traipsed mapping harbours among cleavage

Enamoured mumbles promise a hundred emeralds
Deftly, he unclasps pleasing planet neck orbiter
Molten mouth sears my shoulder, lurid liquid gold
Rallied rubies release, libation grains pour on floor

Premium Member Beneath Celestial Wings

Life's struggles often lure me down dead end roads,
littered with dangerous curves and stumbling blocks.
You, my Heavenly angel, remove the heaviest loads,
those burdens trying to keep me tied up in gridlocks.

When darkness and temptation lay frigid fingers on me
my mind becomes shadowed with sorrows and fears
but your divine light shines bright so I can break free
from anxieties and despair. My trepidation disappears.

You are a gentle breeze, chasing gray clouds from the sky,
a minstrel of lullabies, singing a troubled sheep to sleep,
a butterfly on my shoulder when faith is in short supply,
my comforter in times of need, wiping tears when I weep.

In Scripture, God has written of your loving devotion.
In your gentle hands I picture you offering me His Book.
You are the righteous source of my spiritual emotion.
Dear Angel, may I always receive your approving look.

Under your celestial wings I find refuge and protection,
keeping me sheltered from harm and turning evil away.
You bring peace to my heart because you are a reflection
of God's mercy. I pray that near me you will always stay.

Premium Member The Sun Is Healing Me Softly

Sitting in the sun feeling cat-stretch-contented
my back inhaling Vitamin D, in a luxurious swallow
slightly amused by a quick peek at my mirror reflection.
“Hi, Dad,” I say, recognizing his face in mine.

Slowing myself softly, in my sanctuary, my tree house
sun-filled art studio office, languishing in a quiet way,
soaking up sun rays quietly, and feeling warm about it.

Feeling my breathing slow, knowing this will rejuvenate
me later, when I am feeling better. For now, it is good enough
that I am breathing softly. I know the sun is healing me softly.

Dad smiles at me from the mirror, and I smile. He has been
gone six years, and yet, when I catch an accidental glimpse
of my face, there he is, in the mirror, approving of me.

Probably smiling down from heaven, glad I am figuring
out how to be.

Premium Member Mother's Care

Mother’s care*, great beauty of best degree
virtuous legacy to pedigree.

Mom’s approving smile brings joy’s prevalence
Marked with triumphant lingering silence.

With her loving reprimand of cheer’s flow
brings transforming act midst discipline-glow.

Her prayer of long suffering moments
upholds duty-sacrifice engagements.

By her gentle touch, I feel God’s comfort
leaving wondrous assurance of grace fort.

*Psalm 22:9 But thou art he that took me out of the womb: thou didst make me hope when I was upon my mother's breasts.

Premium Member A Tale of Two Aunts-F

Growing up, I had one maternal and several paternal aunts.
There was one paternal great aunt who did not have a permanent
residence of her own. All the aunts lived within a 50 mile radius of us, but the great aunt roamed from town to town from one nephew and nieces to the other, year after year.

I learned valuable lessons from both my great aunt Rena and one of my paternal aunts name Roberta. I was associated with them both for the first 13 years of my life, and I remember that Aunt Rena 'UNINTENTIONALLY' taught me great lessons about acceptance and approval, and the difference between the two. Aunt Roberta taught me, 'INTENTIONALLY', the meaning of 'letting go'*.

In the truest sense of the word, I would describe my aunt Rena as 'a religious eccentric'. She was very indignant toward others for their failures and imperfections but virtually blind to her own shortcomings. The life-lessons she taught me were OPPOSITE of the life she projected. For example, she was not accepting nor approving of others, but she came from a family stock that was accepting of her. They did not approve of her religious and contradictory behavior, but they loved her and always made room for her whenever she showed up. Thus, from her predictable and selfish life-style, and from her family's acceptance of her, I learned the difference between 'acceptance and approval'.
