Good Riddance to a smoky city
The smog filled streets and the shoddy piety
It looked like the Gods never visited the country, this part
And every nook and corner was a smudge in an artists art!
Morning walks had stopped long enough
And evening exercises were just spoken in a huff….and a puff
Every mans greed was now out in the open
That nothing but money could please, was often spoken
This city had gone from Green to polluted
And every living being here had started getting dreams diluted
Not eve n the gardens were spared
No elderly person was ever here going to be cared
For as blind as every responsible person here could get
Nobody here believed in a breathable environment to set….
That an Art Museum adorned the City Centre, as a matter of fact
And some madman said that this monument could only act….
As an enriching business, making the City a star
But now it looks like a piece of War….
Between the Government that assured the people a smart zone
And every rich-wanna-be decided to clone
By joining hands with the “Government” – thus getting their hands Dirty
Making every living soul in that City – Burn in these streets of pity!
I would say off with their heads
the queen’s evil cousin said
Lawanda, the queen kept mum
sometimes her cuz could speak rather dumb
you should have edicts, make them eat cake
said her brother, whose marriage did not take
the queen mother had oodles of advice too
give them the raspberry, throw them a shoe
the queen had no idea the trouble she would see
when she was in power and could write a decree
Be kind to each other, be generous and fair.
She wrote it out and waved her wand in the air
What about power? Don’t you want to be in charge?
This idiotic idea was issued to her by her Aunt Marge.
I want to have a kingdom that is full of people who care.

We went to my office and talked.
I tried to talk but he kept interrupting me.
I was surprised at how much he blamed everyone else for his behavior.
I tried to explain he is the child, we are the adults.
He talked while I talked and did not hear me.
It took several tries before he realized

I partly blame his last year’s teacher.
I know that an hour into her class each day
the children had taken over, and she had given up speaking.
An easy way to set them up for failure the next school year.

When you get her, you will thank the shoemakers above.
She was inspired by the best, and she will show you a great time.
No, you cannot have these. These magic shoes are mine.
It was November first, Hedgehog Grandpa’s birthday.
"We’ve got to be going!" Mom was yelling that day.
The one that was keeping us back was brother Gay.
A slow poke again, on that cool Saturday.
"I am leaving now." The voice was loud, from Dad.
"I am right behind you!" I yelled. My name is Thad.
My mother was holding a gift, so that is rad.
Because it is the birthday of H.G., our granddad.
As we headed down to Gramp’s tree, Gay caught up.
He had six excuses, most of them about having to sup.
He was still carrying a bit of toast and a coffee cup.
"When we get there," Dad said “You had better shape up!”
Grandpa came to the door and yelled “I’ll be!”
If anyone acted surprised ever, it was certainly he.
We do this every year, but still this pleased thee.
“Happy birthday!” I yelled to Grandpa. He said "You surprised me!"

Oft times zee spouse
lingers at select
supermarkets (Landis, Redners,
and/or Wegmans) without me
(figuratively) taking
all the time in the world
allowing this mister to reflect
alone (imaging tubby
a Norwegian bachelor farmer)
toying with this, that, or the
other writing project
sitting facing this
Macbook Pro laptop
within this one
bedroom apartment
comprising a quite
satisfactory unit, sans
Highland Manor Apartments
in the heart
of Schwenksville, Pennsylvania
reveling in solitude meditating, reading,
or trying valiantly to connect
continuity of words,
always pleasantly surprised
at finished product
(predominantly, asper
hashing out a poem)
with unpredictable captivating aspect
letting thoughts flow as they
may burst asunder
quickly keying
thee elusive threads,
albeit unconcerned
making a typing blunder
mainly focused on
barley distilling, coalescing,
and brewing alphabetic dunder,
when over zealousness
frequently setting wing
to literary creation, which
smug modesty, nonetheless
finds this scrivener to sing
(unwittingly premature
silent ejaculations)
joyus rapturous threnody,
whereat ring around the rosy
abruptly ends caused by
renegade doppelganger quisling
shell shocks yours
truly wear re: eyes
mimic pinball ping
experiencing short lived
(dramatic beaming effusion)
to plummet giving
little attention to proof read,
versus when I indiscriminately fling
an unpolished epistle of Matthew
riddled with glaring mistakes,
aye suddenly feel
embarrassed like a damned ding
bat reprimanding myself
and wrathful madness doth bring!
