The Taj Mahal will one day fall,
They’ll build and tear down three more malls,
But one thing here when Jesus calls:
My wife’s new potting shed.

The concrete footers all are poured.
There’s even concrete for the floor.
The anchor bolts required more
For her new potting shed.

The surface bond cement’s applied;
I’ve got red patches on my hide.
It’s looking good, I must confide
(My wife’s new potting shed).

The roof will be brown standing seam
To match with our green acre theme.
Duality: nightmare and dream
Our little potting shed.

And if, by chance, tornadoes come,
We’ll head there quickly, in a run
And wait it out until they’re done
In our new potting shed.

And when I’m done from all my toil,
She’ll have a place to mix her soil.
If we kept records, we’d recoil
At her new potting shed.

Through an ocean of thoughts that overflow like a rain of stars,
The women of this world wear their invisible crowns,
Queens of their own realms, castles of dreams and desires,
Guardians of secrets that dance through the halls of time,
Oh, how magnificent you are, stars of this vast universe!
Faithful women, God-fearing and deeply wise,
Reliable and hardworking, with love that knows no bounds,
Disciplined and with respect like a festive garment,
Oh, how magnificent you are, you who carry light in your souls!
I admire your character, a shining diamond in the foggy night,
Your loyalty and calm, an anchor in life's storm,
Exemplary, refined, elegant like a waltz by the sea,
You possess a potential that knows no limits,
Oh, how magnificent you are, you who bring hope at dawn!
You are my heroines, from your arms springs life,
I cherish your wisdom, for your advice is like gold,
Oh, incredible women, you are the stories I tell at sunset!
Women of strength and vitality, guiding me through labyrinths of shadows,
In your presence, darkness fades, and I am enriched,
Oh, incredible women, you are my compass in this world!
Your dedication and work have opened paths to a brighter future,
Women of substance and grace, my desire is to bring you joy,
Oh, incredible women, you are the verses of an eternal song!
You are my treasure, I strive to earn your admiration,
I disdain those who underestimate you,
For they cannot see how truly magnificent you are,
Oh, how magnificent you are, you who transform the world with a smile!

Premium Member THE PRESSED MAN

‘When will I anchor here again?’
The sailor’s heart then cried.
He asked it of the wind and wave,
but ‘shh’, the sea replied.

The horizon called and still he stalled,
looking long from the landward side.
He wanted to shout his farewell out,
but ‘shh’, the sea replied.

The mist began to veil the hills
where he left his weeping bride.
Would she hear his wretched sad goodbye?
But ‘shh’, the sea replied.

The captain’s call and the bosun’s pipe
could not now be denied -
so he whispered prayer to return back there,
but ‘shh’, the sea replied.

And for all the moons and different stars
and a thousand change of tide,
he raged to be away from home,
but ‘shh’, the sea replied.

The storms blew and the cannons roared
and somehow our sailor died.
His bonnie over the ocean wept
and ‘shh’, the sea replied.

I vented the wooden nickel, racing down the highway going to fat couldn't pack;
Eating linoleum flavoured kitchen tea towels cat ridden rodents just got carjacked;
The anchor washed the clothes of the drummer in beat;
While nasty peroxide infinite infiltration spread across the heavens
Also back on them streets
For air aged  wooded bleachers and plastic tic-tocks;
How often do the sheep sleep in caves;
Master Rhymer must be rhyming;
Cause! Factor factions decision made divided by bald headed lambs;
Can cottonwood be more than a tree;
As the flights of the washing machine;
Irons out the wrinkled mountain;
The way of flabbergasted ??

Losing An Anchor

I watch the news on PBS
The rare times I’m inclined,
For their reporters are, to me,
Well-spoken and refined.

Election times are when I turn
To listen to their panel
And there’s no need to ever feel
I need to change the channel.

Gwen Ifill was an anchor there,
As classy as they come.
The news of her demise has left me
Sad, surprised and numb.

Her absence from the station
Led, as far as I could tell,
To some viewer speculation
That she wasn’t feeling well.

For I’d bet the chance to talk
After the candidates debated
Would be one she’d never miss unless
She’d had to be sedated.

I’ll not soon forget Gwen Ifill
With her funky specs of blue.
She performed in brilliant fashion,
Which is what she’d meant to do.

Unopposed Oxymoron

This poem is light as a heavy contradicting complement
and rhymes with no correspondence of sound sharp at
the cutting horizon’s edge of melting confusing fission

Serious like a foolish jester and in trivial necessity it wants
to be chimed in disagreement discordant harmony figure
of speech silent shapeless tallies and out into central periphery

Traditional post-modern as an anchor less mooring unbound
a planar linear Oxo cube for poetry soups soaps speechless
rhetoric it says nothing’s everything all for refutation and proof

Cut as a half witted razor blade dull as laser bred dull diamond
the oxymoron in proximal distance joins divisions idiotic
intelligence bland precision in amorphous diffused clarity

I am nothing but and everything as I know to know nothing
where healthy insanity and clear normal madness when
condensed reflection and prismatic diffusion meets parting

My initial final backfiring telos in idle lazy effort’s endeavour in
rhyme and in lightness dissonant un-melodic featherless burden
is that being at different places in different times in the same
space and same moment is not an oxymoron but debatable truth

Written on 27th August in Johannesburg dateless timeless
and nowhere with a blank mind and mindful disregard

Sister, sister, life would be awful without my sister,
she is my rock, the voice of reason, my safe harbor;
not an older sibling but younger- always my anchor,
oh, she was born with an incredible inner strength.
She possesses all the beautiful qualities of my mother,
when I am ill-   it is my sister who holds my hand;
by my side she will always and forever stand,
for me she goes the distance, no matter the length.
My sister is my soul's deepest love,
I will always listen and depend on her advice;
it is full of wisdom and is usually quite concise,
mother must be smiling down from her heavenly land.
Through all life's twists and turns we are one,
oh, those days of childhood play until the sun was done.

A SURE ANCHOR

In stormy moments, God reminds us He is always by our side;
He is our sure and steadfast Anchor, where our souls can safely abide.
We need not trust our strength or face the raging sea alone;
We can kneel in prayer and hold to Jesus, for in Him we are secure and known.
When fear whispers, “Everything will fall apart,” let faith arise and say, “He’s near!”
For God has promised, sworn by Himself—there is none greater, none more dear.
Our Anchor reaches beyond the veil, firmly fastened to heaven’s throne;
The storms of earth cannot disturb the peace where God’s presence is known.
His rope cannot be broken, His promises cannot fail;
Though waves may rise and winds may roar, His mighty love will prevail.
He is the Anchor of our souls—sure, steadfast, firm, and true;
And every testimony of grace and mercy will remind us what our God can do.

Jesus entered through the veil as our Forerunner, through death’s fierce tide;
He conquered sin and opened heaven’s safe harbor, where our souls may safely abide.
Our Anchor is not buried in the mud, nor drifting with the foam;
It is firmly fixed in Jesus Christ, our Rock, our Refuge, and our home.
So stand, anchored daughter, unmovable when the unknown appears;
Your worth is secure in God’s promise, untouched by storms or fears.
He holds the burdened tenderly and will not let His children sink;
When we cannot see the way ahead, His faithful hand will guide us as we think.
So kneel in prayer, take hold of Jesus, and hold firmly to His hand;
For our Anchor is sure and secure, though we may not understand.
Let us praise Him in advance, for His promise is settled and His Word is true—
The storm may shake us, but it cannot break us, because our Anchor holds us through.

April 4 Scripture Meditations Based on 2Chronicles 23-25

Key Verse – 2Chronicles 25:8 But if thou wilt go, do it, be strong for the battle: God shall make thee fall before the enemy: for God hath power to help, and to cast down.

MY GOD, THANK YOU FOR YOUR EMPOWERING HELP

Thank You for Your empowering help-assistance
That handles me well despite my pride’s resistance
And self-exalted feeling of esteemed importance…
Forgive me please with Your pardon’s redemption-inheritance.

Thank You for Your empowering help-aid
That upholds me despite my sinfulness, foolishly-made
And annoying guilt of restlessness’ raid…
Forgive me please with Your mercies that never fade.

Thank You for Your empowering help-appointment
That seeks me despite my hiding discouragement
And frustrated spirit of agonizing sentiment-predicament…
Forgive me please with Your grace-fulfillment.

Thank You for Your empowering help-affirmation
That secures me despite my confusion
And wavering faith of weak conviction…
Forgive me please with Your love and compassion.

Thank You for Your empowering help-access
That reaches out to me despite my stubbornness-caused curses
And obvious disobedience of rebelliousness’ traces…
Forgive me please with Your chastisement-care’s success.

Thank You for Your empowering help-anchor
That props me up despite my bitterness-rancor
And destructive envy of jealousy’s decor…
Forgive me please with Your fellowship’s succor.
