Human Toxicity

After injection, inhalation,or ingestion, the first symptoms to appear are muscle spasms. They appear very quickly after inhalation or injection within as few as five minutes and take somewhat longer to manifest after ingestion, typically approximately 15 minutes. With a high dose, the onset of respiratory failure and brain death can occur in 15 to 30 minutes. If a lower dose is ingested, other symptoms begin to develop, including seizures, cramping, stiffness, agitation and hypervigilance.Seizures caused by poisoning can start as early as 15 minutes after exposure and last 12–24 hours. They are often other adverse symptoms, including hyperthermia, rhabdomyolysis, myoglobinuric, kidney failure, metabolic acidosis, and respiratory acidosis. As poisoning progresses, tachycardia(rapid heart beat),hypertension(high blood pressure),tachypnea(rapid breathing), cyanosis(blue discoloration),diaphoresis(sweating),water-electrolyte imbalance, leukocytosis(high number of white blood cells),trismus(lockjaw),risus sardonicus (spasm of the facial muscles),and opisthotonus(dramatic spasm of the back muscles, causing arching of the back and neck)can occur.

The Watchers Petition

A boy is an undead
While a girl is a leatherhead
Mom and dad find a severed head
The front yard is now flowing in red.
What caused this bloodshed?

From tombstones and crypts
The moon disappears during its eclipse
Followed by eerie sounds and eyes that transfix
As if waiting for someone with a bag full of tricks
Did you see what caused the kids to tighten their grips?

They couldn’t believe what they just saw
The kids were in such awe.
My mouth opened wide enough to give me lockjaw
To my surprise over there by the seesaw
Did I just see a headless person crawl?

It crawled closer and started to moan
Everyone ran and left us alone
At that point I knew we were on our own
I began to fight by throwing a stone
Does it now sound like a drone?

My thoughts are amiss.
I thought we were walking into an abyss.
Instead, I am dealing with machinery on the fritz
I wonder what happens if I spray it with spritz.
I ask myself, “What mockery is this?”

Could it be?

It’s Halloween!!!

Premium MemberA Changing Day

Here lies Chester Alan Dawe
Died from a case of lockjaw
While busting out of jail,
He stepped on a rusty nail
And never again broke the law.

Premium MemberLockjaw Not Jim

Farmer Jim Dean would never get lockjaw.
‘Tho he learned of it early from his pa
Happened before his morning rooster caw.
Tore his foot on nail hidden deep in straw

Hungry gray donkey gave a loud hee-haw.
Did not look for nail – terrible farmer flaw.
Horribly rusty, not a lah-dee-dah.
Died by four o’clock of acute painful lockjaw

The Hippomouth Feeling

never been here before
driving with the hippomouth feeling
i am starving and hungry for more
24 hours can be so cruel at times
however it's okay because we worked our behinds off to get here
we are in our respective modes of "where i don't care"
when we get back to the luxury oceanfront condo, we each kiss the itinerary
tomorrow will be equally fulfilling
we pray once again for protection, positivity, safety, and good health
we thank Him once again for Every Blessing Bestowed upon us
we then begin the daunting task of recovering from the hippomouth feeling
however we decide that it is simply no use
the whole of the experience keeps us locked there till possible lockjaw and pulls us back in like reluctant godfathers

A Period Please

I am the end,
the last act, the final fleck,
the teeny, tiny terminal pixel,
but I am mighty.
I may be small but I have muscle.

I apply the brakes
and the word parade obeys.
I hold up my hand, blow my whistle,
and watch the traffic halt.
I am the language transit cop,
the red road sign painted "STOP!"

Language is my rodeo;
I corral the wild vocabulary ponies,
break them,
make them wear bits, bridles;
I am the word whisperer.

Important documents -
The Constitution of the United States of America,
The Bill of Rights,
The Emancipation Proclamation -
are what they are because of my mark;
without it, they would be gibberish.

Books would be nonsensical run on sentences,
characters shuffling willy-nilly everywhere,
no order, no structure,
misunderstood,
just silly words wagging their tongues.

I am Doctor Lockjaw;
I bar the word mill door.

Language is my life.

TOO MANY BUTTONS TO PUSH

There's too many buttons to push each day
But there's one in particular, like a donkey I bray
I scream out yee haw
Sometimes get lockjaw
I'm totally scrambled like an egg soufflé

Enough Said the Male Bird To His Wife

Ye….
Bu….
Ye..
Woman, shut your trap
I can’t get a word in edge ways because of your flap
Let me speak and you will see
It was another bird having an affair who looked like me

Shut your clanging man hole, for goodness sake
Me head is splitting, give me a break
Now you will suffer from lockjaw
As I clamp your beak with my left claw

Who the hell is this other female bird?
I would not cheat on you that would be absurd
Look around we all look alike
Do something useful like loose weight, get a bike
If you keep making a scene I’ll take a hike

Don’t you dare flap your wings at me
With your tweet, tweet, tweet twittering
Leave me alone, get a life
Oh forgive me madam, wrong wife…

I Do Not Die

Manipulating grief, dirty hands -
open the lid,
release imagos. Eyes are blank.

You unravel the last of roses.
Surface tension wavers. An imbecile
sky pours the eyes, nose and ears.

Courtyard fills again, morphed resurrection.
I am persona non grata
in my own home. The moon does not cry.

Mystical lights. Headstones not legible.
Lockjaw. Waiting for morning-glory.
Stars are blinking.

Still I am stupid, courting my failures.
Cushion of thorns, I am weary of heavens.
Me, this earth, I do not die.
