Linguistics 5 Dialectology

Knowledge of this might not be public:
Some Dialects are hyperbolic
While speakers judge it not, feel it not,
Quite sure hearers the raw message got
In Igbo Language Dialects this clear
Like a heaving chest or hands bare:
In her North’s “My Mum is not alive”
And Speaker means “Her mother is sick”
But to Stranger “‘one you can’t revive;
Date of her funeral to pick!”
In one of her West’s “He just flees.”
And Speaker thinks “He just runs.”
But impressing an escape from bees
Or fears of being brought down by guns!

Time to look at one’s dialects
And pleasure find in what one collects.

Linguistics 4 My Tonology Hypothesis 2

Igbo words for the feared mostly high tone
Perfectly matching what rattles The Bone
Her lexis for Death, Python, Snake - Fire
And it’s like speaker screaming, pitch higher!

So also Poison’s, Madness’ - ‘The Unpleasant’
Anger’s, Bullet’s - one can’t call The Pleasant
A Language quite tonally consistent
With ideas that The Pitch makes insistent…

Still stops not here The High-High tone feature,
For it does reflect on Paired-Up feature:
Igbo words for Two Eyes, Hands, Legs – nostrils…

Linguists had better like me feel the thrills.

Linguistics 3 My Tonology Hypothesis 1

Igbo Sex Words I have observed
Are High-Low Tone steady bearers:
To ‘High-Low’ markedly reserved,
Save in ears of tone-deaf hearers…

All her words for Male Genital
Picked by ears not from hospital
And Females’ one’s ears digital;
To Proof subject in Capital
As though her sex words tactical
Even word for Scrotal Hernia
When pronounced and one’s ears are near:
The word in question her ‘ibi,’
In tone a rhyme with farm’s ‘Ubi’;
Also, her word for ‘The Hip,’
When it drops from one’s testing lip;
The word for “Buttock’ included,
Just her word for ‘Breast’ excluded...

I dare say “Wonderful language,
Since her Sex Words The Sex Act stage,
Before Sex human strength quite high
Like their First Syllables are high
And Ali Baba killed goes low
Just as their Seconds are all low.

Linguistics 2 My Pauseology Hypothesis

To speeches Pauses lend grave weight:
A passed paused Death Sentence, “Wait! Wait!”
“You-are-already-dead-this-night”
And The Black Hearer goes white!

Always esteemed by oracles,
In speeches welcomed obstacles;
Important in a dreaded shrine,
Her grandeur not failing to shine!
Skeptics now add to her value,
Lots conceding to her, no clue:
“In-three-days-your-lifeless-body.”
And the picture they start to study!

Pauses help to stamp defiance
To convey a self-reliance
“Wonder-I-what-you-can-just do…”
If-not-like-a –pigeon-coo.”

One’s listeners the same time pause
And one is entirely the cause
“Do you know what later happened?”
Your listeners’ ears wait for lips opened:
You cease to talk, no listening;
Only their eyes glistening…

Thanks to helpful Prof. M. Omen
Then, A Doc for Prof-Wish Amen.

I fully belong to Linguistics,
Literature for the joy that sticks:
The Sharp Poetry from its Drum Sticks
Writings one does and notes time that ticks…

Wholly I belong to Linguistics,
Though it lacks flattering lipsticks,
Not easy using its walking sticks:
Where you don’t watch and Word itself picks!

My Thesis on Pauseology,
My newer interest Tonology
And begging Dialectology;
Minds have in these boned big yawing holes
But still shall I score a handful goals!
His time’s Best Student of Linguistics
To methods adhering, no twists…

Here we go, I, Linguistic Guide:
If you fall behind, ‘Not a good ride.’

Lifes Linguistics

Life’s Linguistics

Music is language
That speaks
To us all
It asks
And it tells
Like human
Bird calls

Food is our greeter
It says…
Come on in!
It gives
Then it feeds
With warm
Welcome grins

Art is the glue
That says
We’re all human
It draws us
All in
While we’re all

I Love U - Agnostic Linguistics

I
Language is the water of the universe:
"I love u" is both true and untrue
Just as water kills and saves, freezes and flows
God speaks : "I LOVE" unfolding Creation
We speak: "I LOVE u" and create "the other!"
As with language and knowledge -
"I know" is more true than "I know math or a language."

II
There are waves, but is the coast also true?
A wave and photon are lost when watched
(We need a background, as sea needs coast)
If we see the crest of the wave, we separate
The Inseparable. WAVING is MOST TRUE
Of the universe. LOVING is most true of CREATION
Or PROJECTION (as spider ejects webs from Itself)

III
Language uses: subject, verb, object:
"I LOVE u"
It is the coastline helping us see waves
But not the current under, the whirlpooling!
The coast is for "you" but the Ocean always IS!
Many small waves run into bigger waves
You are an EYE - with billions of other eyes -
Looking through EXPERIENCE at The Great OCEAN!
Do NOT separate water and wave always
See the subconscious, the universe as undercurrent
The REALITY that seems to create waves, the unreal
Language can help, and hurt, the UNIVERSAL

As you read this poem, I’m mentally undressing you.
Word by word your protests drop to the floor.
Syllable by syllable I pare you down to honest flesh.
Utterance by utterance, your secrets are revealed
Until you’re nude, standing before me
Natural and unembellished, so you can truly appreciate
The intense sincerity of my words.

Then I’ll softly stroke your personal pronouns
And delicately fondle all your feminine articles.
I’ll take a most teasing interest in your superlative adjectives.
And for your pleasure, I’ll lovingly coordinate your conjunctions.
My linguistic interlocution will then slowly, slowly, slowly
Coax your previously in-transitive verbs to thrill
To multiple, unutterably intense and delicious
Spasms of orgasmic literary ecstasy!!!
And that’s just the table of contents.
P.S. Always practice safe text.

The Truth, Linguistics, Relativity, and the Doppler Effect

A missed word
An error of syntax
A slip in punctuation

The truth is relative
Your truth is not necessarily mine

Truth told in grief
Truth told in mockery
Does not always remain The Truth

Truth be told
Your truth is not necessarily mine

A breath of gossip
An overheard sentence
The snatched glimpse of a word

Just remember this truth
Your truth is not necessarily mine

(Yes, I'm crap at titles, sorry.)

But Jimmy in his Mantra thinks otherwise of you
to him you are the Bottom of The Pot, or like Rosetta Stoned on an Opiate
a Schism separating us Right in Two, Stinkfist!
ne'er you'll have Forty Six and Two
