LISTEN TO THE WIND
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Listen to the wind murmur. Can you hear it
     gently stirring yesterday’s dust motes,
          kissing everyone's cheek with forgotten warmth,
               painting hues of hope into the bleeding blue?
Listen to the wind sing. Can you hear it
     creating a soft melody from rustling leaves,
          whispering promises etched into tree bark,
               grounding us in the breath we share equitably?
Listen to the wind mumble. Can you hear it
     bowing giant oaks, tickling forest’s green expanse,
          ruffling the mouse’s coat as well as the king’s gold crown,
               leveling an equal, impartial hand to all?
Listen to the wind whisper. Can you hear it
     raising up paper cranes and giving them flight,
          carrying one’s dreams on its placid breezes,
               guaranteeing nothing, yet everything.
Listen to the wind moan. Can you hear it
     lifting silent prayers, light as dandelion fluff,
          bidding us pause as life’s burdens dissolve?
At a Crossroads
Leveling up on serpentine curves —
Dust-coated and desiccated — crossroads:
Inebriated with floods, one length;
Darkened with fumes of a puking mountain,
The other stretch;
Gale-powdered face of one breath stares at the
Rumbling belly of the fourth.
The Arrival
The hidden one moves in silence
with violent footsteps
pounding the pavement
While grounding itself to disengage
from grooves designed to uproot
it found its level
Leveling to find balance between
the liquid & solid only enhanced
its brolic nature
There's no frolicking between
the halves described in nature
for this is a serious
matter of things
This being flows through a world
akin to dreams
but is awake to the
world it is seeing
Its eyes are open to views
above & below
for it knows you need both
on this plane of being
to grow
This is growth from a seed
that was buried in darkness
& rose but not without
being detected
I'm not sure what you're seeing
but what is being projected
is the truth
& nothing but
No rut is deep enough to stop
you from shining
& branching out leaving
the dirt behind
Be blind to the attacks
on your mind
but feel them to internalize
then use it to grind
My mind operates like night
& day
so the sun and moon
are its compass
We're in the middle of it all
winter
spring
summer
& fall
but no season
is a losing one
I have compassion for those
lost in the darkness of night
& don't see that
the sun has come
A Mission
I don’t know if I should feel great
But I quite vividly
Remember the day
When happiness told me
It could no longer stay
Because hope packed it’s bags
To chase after faith
Who was on a mission
To find out why
To this life
Did she just give up and say:
"Take it all
Happiness, joy, love, and  hope
What good will they do me anyway
I’ve always kept strong
But nothing ever stays"
So loneliness thought
These pieces of me were
There to sabotage
Forgetting
It was depression
Who had very sharp claws
Gripping desperation
Of a soul
Self deemed lost
So to be honest most days
I don’t feel so great
It's probably because
I’m still looking for my faith
I thought
Practicing playing hope
Might magically
Make happiness come back
That’s definitely one
I wished
Didn’t leave me all alone with sad
Since anger has been here
Its created many structures
That hold no space for hope
It will take all my good traits
To deconstruct and repair
The hopeless homes
That held despair
Doubt and hate
Leveling out the foundation
For hope, faith, love, and joy to stay
Premium MemberOrange Devil Seeks Out Clown
orange devil went down to reserve a clown
he promptly found confusion in stereo sound
first time in the dreaded basement of hell fire’s encasement
clown in entertaining mode flashed devil a warning code.
mo one else likes me halfway this much.
soI have decided to stay with my friend Clutch.
it’s your opportunity to go up levels, orange devil said.
no, clown replied. I am glad that I here, truly dead.
clown taught orange devil a lesson that significant day.
attitude is everything, please leave. Honey, just go away!
devil decided to open his closed up horizons too.
began leveling up, toward the sky and land of the blue.
My Focus
It's all in my eyes
What you see is no disguise
My intent is so sincere
I'm aiming and shooting without fear
My energy is indefatigable
I can meet night with day and still be excitable
In the midst of storms, I'm unflappable
My level of stoicism is masterful
I'm peering
and I'm steering
I'm honing
and I'm toning
I'm leveling
and I'm not settling
This is MY FOCUS
And this is no hocus pocus
Premium MemberWind
Ah, Wind, we've known each other so long.
While creatures run quickly from your side,
I've tried to find kindness in your song
but your howls become hard to abide.
You loudly roar blowing doors ajar,
trees bent weary by ceaseless pummel.
I hear your rumble, beginning far
announcing yourself, never humble.
Beneath blue skies,  a rustle of leaves,
a gentle breeze stirring grains of sand.
Clever Wind sending Zephyr to tease
but we now know the tricks in your hand.
You can charm dust into whirling dance
spinning her round as dust devils fly.
Then do your best to spoil a romance
with your chuckle as they reach the sky.
Unmentionable tantrums and blows,
your foot stamping when you are annoyed.
Leveling towns, do you regret those
heartbreaks caused as you merrily toyed?
Sometimes forlorn, or is that a guise,
when quickly you stop, tempering voice?
is that sadness I see in your eyes?
With flashes of scorn, you make your choice.
Astronaut Flight
Fighting against the iron grip of gravity, its power over this vessel decreases and we slip through its clutching fingers.
Breaking through astronomical barriars into the darkness of space this force of earth no longer lingers.
Into an emense and endless galaxies of stars, we pause here and there taking in wisdom and enjoying each blissful atmosphere.
Into various realms of wonderous beauty attracting the higher vibrations of power and eliminating all fear.
The unceasing invigorating gracious energy is raising our conciousness to a higher place.
Transcending and connecting to an omnipotent force so compelling that we can actually see our true benevolent face.
For so long many ingrained misconceptions that have been taught must be purged in leveling up from how or what we should think or do.
Here in the emptiness of space there is no doubt that the light, this remarkable creative force is the presents of God in you.
Premium MemberMission
They say
I have been free...
When?
Where?
I never know...
Did they give me
My freedom to be born...?
Did they not test to see
I am male or female...?
Did they have any
Happiness on their faces
When I, by default,
Tumbled forth...?
They consider me
A lesser being...
Lesser
In everything...
They find me fit
Only as a child-bearing machine...
Once that is done
I am done...
Existence has become
Dependence...
I know my worth, yet.
Equal to a thousand of them...
I know
I have my mission to accomplish...
This is why
I am rushing on...!
The mission of
Leveling all inequalities...!
Premium MemberYour Wish Is My Command
‘Your wish is my command’
he said it just as any woman in love
might want to hear
He said it like he was evening some score
somehow leveling the playing field
but said like he might really mean it some day
He said it like he was divulging some deep secret
that might otherwise never see the light of day
yet here was one step closer to a goal or destination
He said it loud and deliberate
so I could not misinterpret
or pretend I did not hear
‘Your wish is my command’, he said
so I’d know that somewhere below the surface
he meant it to some degree
I knew he liked the gallantry of it
and might even want it be true
so I took the gift as it drifted onto shore
Lone and castaway, a care package of sorts
I didn’t know what I might do with it
but I gathered it under my wing and
offered it a home within my heart
Premium MemberHe Came In With a Fury
He arrived on the back of a wild ferocious beast
He came with a fury that originated way back in the east
The tormenter is on the way, he is leveling every town!
We began to pack up our bags, without much of a sound.
He’s in it for vengeance, they say our kin killed his kin.
We ran as fast as we could, to the tavern next to the inn.
We are not fighters, we argued, wondering what next to do.
We were out of time; the doors opened and in the beast flew.
The rider was ruthless, brought hell with him in the form of an axe.
He slashed and he gashed, and we fell down; these were the facts.
A one man army, hell bent on revenge to make us all pay.
I knew I was a goner as he advanced on us, that very day.
You, he said, pointing to me, you have one second to leave.
He was holding an axe that could have been a meat cleave.
I ran like I had never run before, a chicken’s way out dance.
He left as suddenly as he came, the others had not one chance.
Premium MemberAllegory of Falling In Love
Poetry notebook in my jittery hand, I vacillate
   what if she finds it dull… obtuse…
   beneath her... culturally insensitive?
What if she laughs at its pathos,
   groans at its length,
   smirks at its earnestness?
As I begin to falter, I ask myself
   (denying all the aching echoes of indifference)
   how much could it possibly hurt if she doesn't like it?
   Could I ever forgive myself if I chicken out?
As my internal arguments fire torpedoes at each other,
   she begins to walk away.
Incensed at my cowardice, I detect a gravitational pull
   impelled by the bonfire of urgency
   lit by a lightning bolt of past meltdowns
I take a step of infinite unknowingness, and clear my throat
   "Hi, I'm in your writing class…
   might I ask for a brief moment of your time?"
   ...silence.
She glances at my poem, then stares into my eyes -
   stretched between two souls is an imaginary tightrope
   leveling her balancing pole, she slowly smiles…
"I thought you'd never ask"
Premium MemberAbecedarian Alliteration
An abecedarian Australian animal activist
Bagged bodacious big bucks
Caustically criticizing crocodiles,
Driving darling dragons
Essentially extinct. Eschewing
Fact, fabricating fanciful fiction,
Grifting gloriously,
He haughtily held hostage
Important, instructive information,
Juxtaposed jaundiced, junk
Kangaroo kills,
Leveling large lizard libel,
Manufacturing marsupial misinformation malevolently.
On other ominous occasions,
Preferring pernicious propaganda,
Quickly, querulously, quashed
Real, rational reports, rather,
Substituted several substantially
Tarnished technical travesties,
Undermining unified understanding.
Very vociferously, viciously
Wrote works without warrant,
Xenophobic xenotypic
yarns, yammering yellow-bellied yawps,
Zombie-like, zealously.
Leveling the Trim
I’m code-switching
On a stim
Teeth, lips
Rubbing at the brim
Austistic
Artistic
Linguistic
I’m standing on a whim
Rope in the wind
Punished
By misunderstandings
Or landings
Failed
While leveling the trim
