Dusty, neé Hermione’s girl,
Is proving to be an equine pearl.
Rescued, adopted and chosen by Kym,
Peaceful-life living is not just a whim.
Beaten, starved by her former owner,
She flourishes under the love Kym’s shown her.
Dusty gets spooked when humans come close,
She turns, slinks away and looks morose.
Trust – a factor that’s hard to regain,
Chunks of her broken spirit remain.
Dusty’s thoughts are kept tucked inside,
Does she dream of a playful romp and a ride?
Or is it the past terrors of hurt and abuse,
That linger to cause her to be a recluse?
She regally stands on a knoll in the field,
Sun-dappled chestnut hide revealed.
Flaxen mane crowns this queenly steed,
In tribute to her Haflinger breed.
Kym hopes Dusty’s faith in people restores,
... If not in this world, then in heaven’s outdoors.
HOLLYWOOD SQUARES
most wouldn’t find names interesting, but I would
draw squares representing student desks.
i loved looking at the baby book of names,
my mother bought, in my thirteenth year.
so i’d put a name to each of these squares,
Hollywood would give their squares faces
as would the children’s game Guess Who.
Names were simple back in my day.
Mary and Joseph, Nadine and Peter...
Of course Hollywood had fun with names.
One word - Cher, Chevy Chase, Goldie Hawn.
Today names are manipulated. They sound
the same with just a tweak of letters.
Like Kym, Davyd, and Naatlee.
And Poetry Soup, you are much
like that stew of names — our own game
of Hollywood Squares.
With questions, truth and lies, a variety of categories.
We have our Phyllis Dillers, Paul Lyndes and even Vincent Prices.
I swim in the sea of names, enjoy our friendship, our love
for poetry. Like pen pals from around the world — we write.

Kym the Koala liked to climb
And munch gum leaves all the time
In the hot Aussie sun
Up early munching leaves and having fun
He saw jumping kangaroos
And running large emus
But he did not want to be like them
A pastime climbing trees was easier in the end
When up high in trees
He could see far as he pleased
Not being bothered by much
Except birds, insects and such
You see there are different things
That each one to the world brings
Being happy and having fun bound
And differences make the world go around.

Mr. Dead Inside
YOU
who wouldv'e known?
it would be you
that makes me feel this way
I can't believe I've gotton this far
Without knowing where I stand.
YOU
have no idea
what goes through my mind
what pumps through these veins
what beats through my heart
on nights like these
YOU
think you've won
think you've got me wrapped around your pretty little finger
but I suppose i should let you in on a little secret of mine...
I
can break you in a heartbeat
leave you beaten and bruised
but begging for more
YOU
think you're bad
Mr. High and mighty
Mr. Kill you with one glance
but i see through you
YOU
HURT LIKE I HURT
YOU FEEL LIKE I FEEL
YOU
HATE LIKE I HATE
YOU
CRY LIKE I CRY
but i'm not the one who hurt you
I
shouldn't have to pay for her mistakes
I
am not her, nor will i ever be
ONE DAY
you will realize what you have with me
and on that day
MR. DEAD INSIDE
you'll appreciate me..

Release
I can't get you out of my head
I keep seeing your face when I close my eyes
I'm in it deep this time
My heart is on the line
I keep pretending that I'm ok
I smile just so you won't see the tears falling down my face
Just wrap your arms around me once more
Can't you see I'm crazy about you?
A million questions race through my mind
but I know it is for the best
If we can withstand this...we can withstand anything
So I'm letting go....
In hopes that you will return to me again someday.

Break Into
There's a pain
deep in my chest
It's killing me slowly
but i know what i'm up against
I've walked this path before
I know this feeling well
It's a familiar place
and it welcomes me in again
I've swallowed my pride
and let you in...
but what i'm facing now isn't fair
i've been here before
I should be used to this by now
7 months...we've been through alot
You say you're stressed out
and i'm not helping the situation any
should i go or should i stay and wait?
I"m not even sure you'll come back to me
You say you need a break...
As I break into...
What am I gonna do without you?

My heart seemed crushed at the age 17
Everybody always say Kym it's gone get better
Before I get to ask anyone they fade away
I always never seem get to ask the question : what it mean?
When no one care how do we suppose to feel
Depressed
Same thing over and over make me more stressed
What am I suppose to do when life gets hard; not easy
I feel loosed out of control
I feel only side you see is the real side
The truth is when she left and when he left I loosed my soul
I wish they come
I try to respect I try to change
Now it seem I try to loose you and you keep coming back
Seem like caring is what you lack
Why must it be me? Why must you be all up in my head?
At night before I lay down you make me sad because, you be in my bed
I only can make you as long as I think about it, you can last
I wish you go away
You is : My Past
God does giveth
And He does taketh away
But my dearest, darling children
My tears I do shed everyday
I don't know why He chose you
I only know my heart does pain
My dearest son and daughter
How I wish to see you again
Your parting was so swift
There was no time for goodbye
God donned you with your Angel-wings
And to Heaven you did fly
I am sure if God really knew
How empty my heart would be
He in His infinite wisdom
Instead would have taken me
But I remain here on Earth
The reason I don't understand
I only wish for Heaven to go
So again I can hold your hands
My dearest, darlings
I am missing both of you so
I carry you safely in my heart
Whatever path I go
I know you look down from Heaven
Guiding each step I take
But how I would trade my time
For one more look of you face
There is nothing than can measure
The love you gave to me
My darlings how I miss you
My Bill, and Kym Therese
