A hop, skip, and jump away

I treasure the moments
when my eyes catch an animal
hopping through a field of flowers
or even just a plain field.

In my headspace,
I metaphorically become both
the field and the rabbit.

Jumping through a field of flowers
feels like an intrusive jubilation
a sudden burst of hope,
a quiet sign that all will be well.

But a plain field speaks differently.
It feels dry. Unwell.
No bloom.
Lacking light.

And yet,
the rabbit is always there.

A blameless, alluring creature,
with a purity beyond human
comprehension or relativity.

Though the field may be plain,
and wary,
there is always hope nearby
maybe just a hop, skip,
and a jump away.

But always there.

Travelin’ Man

I have been here, I’ve been there,
over yonder up and down.
Been back home and been long gone,
been nowhere but been around.

I’ve traveled for a far piece,
just a hop, skip and a jump.
I climbed clear up to the top,
hit rock bottom with a thump.

I’ve journeyed and I’ve traversed,
arrived here and went that way.
Headed out, trekked, and jetted,
fixin’ to go there someday.

Went when the Spirit moved me,
only if the creek don’t rise.
I’ll head out your way sometime,
if I make it be surprised.

I’ve voyaged, gadded about,
tramped, stomped, and drifted around.
Been where the sun did not shine,
just the other side of town.

I’ve flown over the rainbow,
the other side of the track.
I’ve crossed against the traffic,
walked away and not looked back.

Always marched to my own drum,
I’ve strolled down the avenue.
Danced, pranced, and pirouetted,
I’ve had nothing left to lose.

Where I’m bound, where I’m going,
don’t ask me ‘cause I can’t tell.
Some say I’m bound for Heaven,
others swear it’s straight to Hell.

Premium Member Everybody Needs a Fine Dining Experience

Shadows amid the waves
bird-eye targets,
besties gather for
a fine dining experience;
aqua splits to pierce
of bill.

Fueling up the old pouch,
a winging pelican riding sea breeze
to sustenance;
all hook-billed and needing no bait.

Just a hop, skip-skim
across to side-dish;
let’s have a herring and mullet casserole!
Throat-sack wiggles, jiggles,
down the hatch,
then it’s back to the nest for
cocktails and a snooze.

Gregarious, the lot of us,
quite a personable group;
flashey-fish’in, eight-foot
wingspan, spots another appetizer;
bank left, wings fold in
a dive-bomb spin...dessert!

We’re aerial acrobats of the coasts;
hop a ship and we’ll perform
for you; no charge.

Premium Member A Hop, Skip, and a Dance

Britainers have no idea of distance
Ontario to B.C. is just a hop, skip and a dance
About 3,000 miles
London to Aberdeen 450 miles
Holy crap, no chance to change your underpants

The Northern Crown

The black earth just below the moss.
It's headiness held down.
On top a carpet green and soft
The comfort of a crown.

To walk is just a hop of heart
A bounce a joy away.
To feel it is to just relax
A comfort I'm to play.

A passing look, a fervent scene.
A tree-line standing tall.
Upon a hill; a mound of earth
A feeling that I call.

The Northern Star above the frost
to guide my lazy eye.
Where home is found and I am part
of never ending sky.

A walk between a ledge of trees
My compass fresh Pine air.
To come out in a swamp of dew
Reflections that I care.

My home a little cabin further.
Walls of racked up logs.
Out front a hound dog tied to feed
an appetite of hogs.

A smoke puff from a chimney top
A signal someone's home.
A maiden in an evening gown
A wife if not a poem.

My life in Northern Canada
has brand me with it's scent.
For those above it's parallel
No time's been better spent.

On and On

mabe you stop
your just part
of a lot
this is gods shop
your just a hop
will be bop
to anuther line
in a matter of time
i tell you
your passing thurf
from the day you wereb
born
THE WORLD GOES
ON AND ON

Don'T Cry For Me

(For Donte', Eric and Frankie)
  (May They Rest In Peace)

Don't Cry For Me
For I'm ALIVE as can be
Although, I Rest In Peace, Eternally
I live through the soil of Mother Earth's debirs
I rise as the roots that become a tree
I breed like the Creatures under the sea
My voice is that of the waves, rising Rapidly
Despite, the Old saying that:"Death Comes In Three"
For, I like an Emancipated Slave, am free
No more, from this troubled World, do I bother to flee
Since, I'm in the realm of a HIGHER POWER, you see
Just a hop, skip and jump, away from Humanity
Which means, I watch over All, as the Master does thee
So, Don't Cry For Me
