before the war

Born before the war

The sky was sullen and sorrowful
was the mist smoke from hot cannons
on crackling radios, people listened to
a man shrieking and thought
what a useless idiot
my birth was painful for my mother
she cried
 my brother entered the room
slapped my face for hurting her
He was four years old and born,
a mild fine day in May
 thus of happy disposition
expert in telling jokes
and in later years, wore my leather
jacket I had bought in Buenos Aires
October weather has much to answer for
my gloomy opinions are banned
on the Woke sensors on Facebook
who says, if you cannot be pleasant, send
a picture of a day in May
Me, I was expelled when the junta of four
colonels who ruled Greece for drinking ouzo
and be critical of them
Sent to an island for the mad, but six
month later, the hapless four officers
joined me and became orderly, cleaning
bed pans

ex presidents

Ex-presidents

There was a man, not very tall, selling
pornographic pictures at a corner of a
street
Once he had all the power, one could
dream of, as a military junta took his
job, and since all he had was grand
villas were in the name of the state and
Furthermore, he had neglected to pay
anything to his retirement fund
Hence, reduced selling of naughty
picture of visiting statemen having sex
in some sleazy hotel
when those who had bought the pictures
took a closer look, they realized they
had a goldmine
the man on the corner was smuggled
 to
Brussels got an offer he could not refuse
He lives in Rhyad and takes delight
counting all the rolling heads in Europe
Nothing is new; it's what politicians do
when losing power, he joined the TV circus and
get interviewed telling the same sorry story
and the more fibs they tell, the more we
enjoy gossip and slander.

Junta

Junta

AH Mulher!
Sempre junta
palavras para a
ação.

AH Mulher,
Forte e fraca
Força e Fragilidade
2021 ou 2022!

Mulher, assim estás
no meio do amor
como o centro da rosa
com ostinato rigore
faz a cada dia mais
e mais...

Poetry a Sin

In Myanmar, a junta military
Silences poets solitary
Poetic expression is a sin
Like so much trash in a bin

We must write for you to read
That everywhere the strong lead
The weak have trampled upon rights
With few to write about your fights

Never Reached Eight

Wrapped in white burial shrouds and only seven
This little girl is now making her way to heaven
The Myanmar junta forces battered her door
Made their way inside all in the name of war

Gun shots were fired and screams were heard
Killing this child is simply downright absurd
What had this child done for them to shoot ?
Killed for certain by an evil callous brute

Imagine the grief of her family left behind
War doesn't solve anything it's time to remind
Rest in peace little lady you died needlessly
Doesn't make any sense that's according to me

Junta

Junta

Pensei hoje de manhã
nem o mar vive sozinho
parado sonhando:
trás e leva
mares de pedidos.

É assim,
mais de fazer mais,
mais de movimento
do que pensamento,
a mão nos diz
ah: uma coisa feliz
é mãos juntas
fazer mais e mais.

Compartilhar

Quero compartilhar:
a realidade leva até aqui ou alí;
o sonho leva aonde
ninguém mais enxerga!
Isso é mágico!

A imaginação é planejar o papel
sobre o qual se pintam os sonhos;
a inspiração junta realidade,
sonho e imaginação como um vitral pintado!

Veja tudo, com a vista,
de repente
tudo é claro de cores:
brilham histórias!

Isto, sim, que é para nós!
Sonhar, imaginar e inspirar!
Crescer e prosperar;
fazer mais e mais!

The Dolphin and I

The Dolphin and I.

I think it was in 1967 when the Junta of Greek coronels
took power, I was in Piraeus on holiday
the water on the stretch is calm, and one day I met a dolphin
we swam side by side and when I got tired I hold around
her she was helping me ashore.
We had a platonic affair kissing and cuddling like lovers
beautiful days and she was always there waiting for me.
It came to an abrupt end when one evening I criticized
the junta which consist of four rather dim officers and
for good measure had a go at the Orthodox priests,
who looked like they were eating a cow a day.
I blame the ouzo.
I had been overheard and the police. came drove me
to the airport and there was no time to say goodbye.
It must have been disheartening for the dolphin it must
have waited for a day, we were lovers torn apart by politic.
There was another coup, and the colonels were exiled to an
island that had an asylum were, they became orderlies
which they liked so much that when they were forgiven
stayed on because the mad did as they were told.
But I cannot forgive them for destroying a beautiful love story

The Junta

Once, a very long time ago
You truly understood our woes
Your youthful energy burned bright
Promising to deliver us from limbo
Indeed, a welcome beacon in the dark

Maybe it was the lesser evil
For surely, the corrupt regime had to go
In crises like those, sacrifices had to be made
So we dutifully turned our backs
And let the blood flow

For a while, you were the ideal leader
Our dear and beloved liberator
The butchery forgotten, tranquility returned
Success for all was certain
The fruits of democracy as we know it

It was all too good to be true
Murmurs of discontent flared
Pertinent questions arose, zero answers came forth
The leader had lost sight of the noble goal
Democracy was a mere mirage

Injustice of all forms is meted out generously
Murder and gore freely roam the streets
Empty pockets stare at us mockingly
Tears stain our cheeks
We call to the government in vain

So here we stand once again
Swearing that the correct regime must go
More than ready to sacrifice
But the blood.Oh God!the blood
Let blood not flow...

Sempre juntando palavras de chamada para a ação.
Uma ação para todas as pessoas,

Descoberta

Quero compartilhar o que eu descobri:
A realidade me leva até aqui ou alí;
O sonho me permite ver o que ninguém mais enxerga!
Isso é mágico!

A imaginação
é o papel sobre o qual pinta sonhos;
A inspiração junta realidade,
sonho e imaginação como um vitral pintado!

Com imaginação,
De repente
tudo é claro de cores:
brilham histórias!

Isto, sim, que é para nós!
Sonhar, imaginar e inspirar!
Crescer e prosperar!

Sin Futuro

En lucha saliste del polvo
Con ìmpetu mostraste valor y poder
En intentos no comiste ni dormiste
Era acero, visión, nada más

Todo un correr, un deprisa
En el alma siempre el pesado reloj
Eras el fuego entre luces y sombras
La agonía de un vuelo sin par

Pero al despertar viste lo distinto:
peligros, amenazas, perfidia, traición
Pasaste al blanco de ojos salvajes
Y has de cuidarte pues trampas hay

En tu andar soñaste algo bueno:
navegar, altruismo, conquistas…

Kindled Night

Put off the lantern.
I am waiting for the moon’s
primal face. The lesser flamingoes
were going to shed the pink color.

Nude as a python, the kiss
of pomegranates, kills by asphyxiation.
I suffer in the hands of protests.
The black ice now enters the eye of a needle.

A barefoot noun feeds the junta.
The butter babies will serve the poetry
of poor on the mats of principles.
I will remain unslept on straw.

A newspaper eats the story this side.
After the bloodbath surgeons weep.
An armless lover hugs a priest
for not calling the gods.

Satish Verma

Above Banishment

The walls heard and turned deaf

Heaven swore never to bear witness

The sun saw and went weeping

Hands turned loads on peoples head.

Thou king has a foundation

Of his defecation on the thrown

The palace workers have choices

Who defines the calamity?

The ofor disappears

Another is caved

The throne is empty

King is on it.

The cock craws

The head turns a sacrifice.

People die ignorantly for known reason

Parrots nest, six feet below

In tears we celebrate

The undemocratic rule of abomination

To elucidate, a junta

A woman has eaten the anus of a fowl.

Ndi okenye, are silent.
