Lazy Millennial

Lazy Millennial
Give the Lazy Millennial a damn job
He just plays Mobile Legends all night

And sleeps all day long like a cat
I’ll give the Lazy Millennial a goddamn job

Here’s a shovel son go and clear out the Mt Mataba Jap tunnels
Its two years of back breaking work to shift the soil

You can reload the 20mm cannon in my Messerschmitt 110
Swapping sixty pound full ammo drums for empty ones when upside down

Doing the soiled laundry aboard navy ships
What dirty secrets will you find?

Digging up old wartime landmines to protect the farmers
Defusing them with your ing teeth

All these and a thousand other military tasks
For the jobless Lazy Millennial

Premium MemberThe Looking Glass

Desolate thoughts
and counting crows
Specs of light
spread across
Across the bridge so far
The Darkened moonlit sky
Red white and blue
Neon lights
Sparkle for the few
Left hanging out
In Spanish Harlem
That very night
Looking through
The windows of lost
souls
I cry laugh and rejoice
Seen what you didn't
See in me
And what I couldn't see
In myself
Images of yesterday
Entombed in our hearts
Minds seeking outlets
Through an opening
That wasn't there
Seeing Mirror images
Of myself the fellas
The girls what a world
What a time
What a life
We jitterbuged
Around the concrete jungle
The streets showing off
Our colors galore
Our names of Lore
Shown on those white walls
Girls For show
Carmen Linda Brendalee too
The other side
Chino Tony and jap
Say hey we can't forget
Bozo the base
The Lords we were
We sang from
Stoop to stoop
Subway to rooftop
Harmonizing to the sun
Singing into the darkness
On the stage we call life
Wayback when
Sharing windows
Of yesteryear
Friends of yesterday
Mirror images
Shadows of...
Oneself

Japanese Scout 1942

Japanese Scout 1942
Oh yer poncing on Kokoda and you see a little Jap,
Like a Rabbit with the Myxo, he dunno where he's at,
So he plonks at you with bullets, per Arisaka gun,
5 shots an he's on empty, now will come the fun,
Bandy legs come staggering, forward at the trot,
His bayonet fixed to score you, the bayonet fighting slot,
So play fair and bayonet fight with old Tom-Tit,
Parry and a butt slap, till death does do it's bit,
Another for the Pigs to eat,
When all are left to rot,
Of jaw bones there were many,
From the Japanese, a lot,
The first to see the other,
Got first shot, 20 yards away,
Another death another,
And the sadness came to stay,
So you never stopped a watching,
In the jungle clearings green,
Let your guard down, bullets costing
Blood n guts, it was obscene,
On the booze and home again,
Keep them white coat guys away,
no leccy shocks to keep me sane,
Behind the green fence isn’t, aint, ok,
Cos it's not, behind the fence of green,
Where I have bloody been,
2 never, never, never bloody stay….

Damn the Torpedoes

Damn the torpedoes

Damn the torpedoes the Yanks did say,
When duds hit a Jap ship and fell away,
Firing pins weren’t working well,
One sub loosed 13 didn’t break the spell,
Just sometimes one was right.
Bloody thing would ignite,
And the Yanks would bloody yell.

Nineteen fourty four, pins good now for sure,
Sam Dealy and submarine Harder,
Transporting Aussies to Borneo, for,
To upset the Japanese pardeners,

Muiat Suki, Jap Destroyer,
charged the submarine,
Head on was sitting Harder,
1100 yards Dealy fired 3 torpedoes, i mean,
Chopped the fork out of his enchilada,

Next day at 650 yards,
 Destroyer Hayanani came,
3 torpedoes hit this Destroyer,
Too many holes it was a shame,
Blew the fork out of his nighty,
Just the same,
The Reaper danced, begorrah,

Z Force men went ashore again ,
Into the wilds of Borneo, and then,
Ole Harder went a hunting men,
Of the Japanese type of fauna.

Coast Watchers

Coast watchers, coast watcher in the Solomons,
Mad Aussie Coast watchers,
Mad Aussies behind the Japanese lines,
Sucking coconuts, coast watchers,
When JFK’s PT109 was cut in half, who got him,
The coast watcher, Evans got him saved his life,
Downed pilots yes they’d spot ya,
From Rabaul right down the slot ,
The Japanese were hotter,
Every island seemed had one,
crazy Aussie or Kiwi coast watcher,
Of 42 as Admiral Halsey said ,
An early warning on a raid,
Aussie Teleradio caller read ,
40 Jap. planes, the bearing made,
Australia had these men,
who worked as planters in the islands,
District officers some of them,
With natives there to guide em,
Gaudacanal, big island Aircraft Carrier,
Knew when Japanese came down the slot,
Dauntless dive bombers, Yanks were there,
Ironbottom sound still holds em yeah,
Japanese ships still parked, in lots,
Carrier Enterprise fought battles there,
Was bombed, but didn’t die,
Coast watcher saw Jap. Carrier where?
And Yanks they filled the skies. 2am 6-nov-11 Don Johnson

Driven Crazy

Driven Crazy in 41

You were there in forty one,
When Australia it called,
King an country it was fun,
 Adventure it enthralled.

On a hill in Syria,
 Death was to be denied,
French Foreign Legion plastered you ,
And several Aussies died.

75 mm cannon gave you shellshock,
Amongst a hundred shells,
Almost driven off your block,
Insanity you’ll tell.

And most were driven crazy,
By the ringing of the bells,
And several walking lunatics ,
Were left there in their hell.

4 days of hammering artillery,
And then you got away,
The Aussies drove off the French,
The guns went quiet today.

Kokoda found you in the green,
Quietly creeping through the hills,
Move so slow, listen though,
Jap will plonk you sure to kill.

Your eyes don’t stop a watching,
For a movement in the mist,
For if you stop a watching,
Surely, bullet kissed!

Jap scout plonks at you ,
And you’re a plonking back,
Fixed bayonet stabs too,
When death walks on the track.

Somehow you get off the first shot,
Old Tommy gun is true!
The knockdown power,
Kills Jappo dour,
Life goes on for you.

But We Soldier On

But we soldier on

Fought the Jap in 42
Killed the Jap till they were few
Outnumbered mostly 5 to one
Kokoda tide turned and we won!

Don’t stay down, get up again
Reefed up by your bootstraps man
Sure you will be sad and blue
Be a man its’ what you do

Life’s a ***** and then you’re down
Soldier on, don’t wear a frown
Always rise, accept your fate
Rise again, it’s not too late

Be you happy in yourself
Standing, catch the world by scruff
Don’t be like a Dingo pup
Be a man, right bloody stuff!
