Approved.
To our Father who art in heaven,
Please art in papers of our CVs,
Let your will be done on our applications
As it is in heaven.
Forgive us for giving up
As we forgive you for delaying us.
Deliver us from negativity
And lead us not into depression.
May we be approved,
To get jobs
To get bursaries to study,
Business loan application,
Funding application,
Internships.
As far as this hustle has a brother called Nepotism
I hope you remind it that you are the Father of all,
Those that demand blankets to aid us to rise shall fall,
Let us not pay any cent to get any cent
Today we pay with you
So, please let us be Approved.
Amen.

The Governors complain about the POTUS
The President complains about them
Chicago's Mayor screams: "Stay at home!"
Meanwhile, more and more folks are dying
Too busy complaining, pols aren't even trying
Simple solutions to some of our problems
Like dedicating more factories to produce PPE
Which'll also open up jobs for laid-off employees
Like offering a prize for a good, cheap ventilator
That'll surely bring a response from sharp innovators
Like creating temporary internships for health-care students
Overworked nurses and doctors might find this quite prudent
Where's the vision and leadership so desperately needed
More complaining and screaming's not going to be heeded
The post he had expected
Has then been presented.
He had been dreaming to stand
In the green pasture of the land
And overcome the suffering
He has been for long enduring
He went through admittance test
He wanted to prove he was the best
By outcompeting any competitor
He became a suitable instructor.
For his very first experience,
He did not show any resilience
By canvas he was baffled
By typing he was puzzled.
Could he meet expectation,
In that world of desolation,
Without a plan for support
To prevent a probable abort?
Classroom norms, teacher talk time
Canvas building, grading deadline
Core values and tech checklist,
He was trained to be a specialist.
By overcoming all the huddles
He was among the role models
Coping with change is a bit bitter
Working hard should matter.
You can’t dream to inherit heaven
Without working times seven
Do not be afraid of hardships
As they are like internships

Such a yearning in my heart to find a one
No, find the one
With the appropriate prerequisites
The right experience
The proper internships to complete my externship
The perfect applicant
Just right for the job
After many interviews and several orientations
I was able to convince myself you didn’t exist
Until…
That long conversation we had on that night off
I didn’t know what it was
Maybe it was your voice
Or maybe your laugh
All I know- is that at that moment,
The idea of the perfect applicant,
No, employee, rushed back into my mind
You may possibly know this, but I’ve never told you
So I guess now is the best time
Your cosmic beauty and your angelic sound waves
Bring my black hole to the brink of bewilderment
You send my mind on expeditions to another galaxy
Yet, like the roots of the oak tree, you are so grounded
You know not how you have impacted my life
At times, you fill me with the vivacity that I thought I could only find in the fiction
paperbacks
I live in awe with you
And like I said, you may not know,
So simply put…
I’m feeling you
