On the East River’s waterway
looking over the Hudson Bay
Under Brooklyn’s “Welcome” neon sign
passing some time away
Drivers on the B.Q.E.
stuck in the red light car brake haze
Commuters inching their way back home
in a worker zombie traffic daze
(Chorus)
Take some time to step aside
and let the world pass on by
Take the time to realign
and to be with the ones you love
Manhattan’s glazed canyon walls
are sidewalk scene reflections
Murals of the myriads rushing
in every which way directions
On a web of interconnections
the rhythm of riding subway rails
The crush moves toward their destination:
the weekend furlough from rush hour hell
(Chorus)
Take some time to step aside
and let the world pass on by
Take the time to realign
and to be with the ones you love
Sitting on the promenade
you glow with the lights on the bay
Slowly sipping our fine red wine
enjoying some time away

Ubiquitous Dream
The dream seems
Ubiquitous
Solid and moving
With many boundaries
Many depths
Many interconnections..
No escape from the dream
It is dreamed..
Everything solid and
Imagined
Nighttime and daytime..
Yet a dream of nothing
Is another dream of
Not knowing or
Emptiness..may seem
Shockingly
Paradoxically
Indescribably
Immediately
Ubiquitous...

As I pen the ink anything can happen,
as I sit back and relax anything can happen,
as my thoughts run wild anything can happen,
as I move out on the road anything can happen,
as I work on my garden anything can happen,
as I prattle to my toddler anything can happen,
as I shop anything can happen,
anything can happen after anything,
there is no design and structure,
but there is one overall objective,
I survive and survive for a period I hope,
that is fixed,
all within this period is random,
one act of mine leads to series of others,
the series are interconnected to other series,
and interconnections are hard to see,
we dance to randomness with a future quite dark,
there is no science to predict future,
as yet we all survive and coexist,
thats a wonder,
because randomness dances in a structure.
